Mariya Takeuchi 1981 Live Concert - ライブ 竹内まりや

I think this tour is promoting Miss M, which is why I put that album as the cover photo. The final track cuts off, but I hope it's enjoyable regardless!

Final song of the set and the probably the most famous song from Love Songs. I like this one a lot, even though it's very, very popular and I hear it all the time.

Here's an incredibly rare live performance of a song I think is virtually unknown to most Phil Ochs fans. Enjoy!
Phil Ochs - Love Me I'm A Liberal (Live 1965 Video Fragment)

Here's Phil Ochs performing Love Me I'm A Liberal live in 1965. This is interesting for three reasons. One, it's before the studio recording on Phil Ochs in Concert in 1966, Two it's Love Me I'm A Liberal live and Three: it's Phil Ochs video footage! The footage isn't the best in the world but, hey, it's something right?

Phil Ochs performing Flower Lady at Rutgers University. I think this is a particularly early version of the song. It's dated 22-05-1966.

Great deskiption of the deepstate ecesses throug thogh decades in US
Be nice to find the same clips without the graphics.
Dylan was envious of Phil imo...... but Phil loved Bob imo..... think about it!! That taxi ride, Bob's refusal to allow Phil on tour when he needed help. Bob wanted the fame, Phil wanted to change the world for the better imo! Waddya think??
Ochs visited Gordon Lightfoot in Toronto in the fall of 1964 and performed this song (which he was still working on). Lightfoot liked it so much he included several verses on his first album -- recorded in NYC December 1964, but not released until early '66. Ochs added more verses in the following months as his marriage fell apart and he separated from his wife. He finally recorded it on a live album released in March '66.
To be honest, in retrospective, this does feel like Positively 4th Street may have very likely been about Phil, considering it's about West 4th Street in Greenwich Village, a scene which he was prominent in.
I have only found the Everly Brothers’ version in the last year, and now this swoops in and takes the crown.
Dylan? Is that you Joan Baez??? Shhhhhhhhhhhhh... Phil Ochs is singing. We'll gladly listen to Quinn the Eskimo later, it just ain't my cup of meat.
Where was this recorded ?
I always love him. ❤
I've always loved Ian & Sylvia's cover of "Changes" on the album "Play One More." David Rea contributes some beautiful acoustic guitar.
I keep trying to think of a sweeter, sadder, better song than "Changes," but I get nowhere.
Once I was young and impulsive I wore every conceivable pin Even went to the socialist meetings Learned all the old union hymns But I've grown older and wiser And that's why I'm turning you in So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal
Does anyone else hear the very short comment and rage about Bobby,,, I did,,,

Does footage of this concert exist?
Jim Steinman used the 'turn around bright eyes' line on 2 songs 'Total Eclipse of the heart' and what became 'Skull of your country ' as seen on Meatloaf album Braver than we are, only part of the original song was used, but Jim was notorious for reusing lyrics in different songs and sometimes use them several times
Awesome!
Wow interesting
The build-up to the bridge at 4:18 made my hair stand up. Brilliant!
Too bad the volume is low on your channel. I guess these are live and taped? from California
This is hilarious great listening to phil in the playful boisterous mood, listen to his (1970 Live) ‘Gunfight at Carnegie Hall’ (wearing a golden suit) Album especially ‘Okie from Muskogee’ it’s unbelievable does some marvellous Elvis covers also, in fact it’s my favourite Phil Ochs Album, check it out you’ll be amazed I was anyway!.

Hello: Could someone please help me with the lyrics of these two songs: “All By Yourself” and “All My Life”? I don't speak English very well and Rory Dodd has a very nice voice. I hope you can help me. Thank you!
Phil the greatest.
Any information on where this was?

In the moment (a.k.a. eternity), with "original mind" as everything should be! If you halter, or make a mistake, just keep going! "There's no time THAN the present!". And it's always now. If one wants to watch a play, the best performance will be the "Dress Rehearsal". The first time in front of an audience; actors hate it, but it's the most real. Raw as life is. Put your head in the "mouth of the lion" (the present moment) and you'll get something!!! Lol!
I like this MUCH more than the album version! Thanx! There's a very similar version, also from 1965, that was posted more recently. Almost indistinguishable from this version, aside from the spoken intro.
I think that when his voice was destroyed, he lost everything he cared about. So he hanged himself at 36.
Phil's battle with mental illness is well documented. Explaining his suicide by the unfortunate damage to his voice is too simple an explanation for his complex problems.
@@vsibirsky I suppose you’re right, but when I met him, he was delightful. He was so very kind.
@@nbenefiel people always tell me that one of my best traits is my bright smile and humour and kindness. i'm miserable all the time, have been suicidal since I was ten years old. some people are just very very good at masking these things. and i think some people (myself included hopefully) do have a sort of light-optimism-goodness that cuts through the despair even at it's worst? like i don't think it's just putting on a happy face, there is something in there coming out, it's not just an act. i think he was very much truly a force of good and kindness in the world. these things can all exist in parallel, you know?
The biggest loss to music are those who do not know or appreciate Phil Ochs. A gateway to hearing songwriting as deeply as it can possibly be heard.
Thank you for this golden, unappreciated video.
Masterpiece ❤
What does he sing in the first verse? You got a lot of goal (?) to say you are my pal (?)
‘You got a lota gall’! You are criticising them for behaving in a rude or disrespectful way ‘you got some bark on you coming in here after last night’
Great rendition! Thnx 🙏
Congratulations, my friend. Great song, beutiful Phil Ochs.
This song which had its contemporary reference to the deaths of JFK, MLK, RFK, and others by assassination in the 1960's and early 1970's (while acknowledging the similar termination of Lincoln and others throughout history) now has a meaning beyond literal killing of those who would seek that "challenge that is hopelessly hard" in making humanity better...the weapons many use now is political opinion making and social media in all its forms.
I’m starting to be convinced that Phil didn’t have a bad song.
Jon Train said that Phil purposely wrote some bad songs because he wanted to get "them" off his back. Personally, I love Phil's songs so much that some of my favorites are unreleased songs. lol So I agree with you.
this song is perfect! the lyrics are very deep
Mariya takeuchi es la mejor
Temendo album :)
beautiful
Thank you for your great channel, remembering Mr. Ochs.
Any info about this concert? Where it was?
Hero worship...devotion and deification...and the turn of the screw when they prove to be mortal. Thank you, Phil, and I'm sorry you left
