"Assignment: The World" Intro (1985)

This intro was presumably used from the '70s to mid '80s (as it was seen from 1981 too). "Assignment: The World" was a weekly program that had content determined by current events. The series was a phenomenon in PBS stations and has aired over 50 years from 1959 to 2013. It was produced by WXXI from 1966 ever since 'till 2013. Gotta love the intro, one of the intros ever.

The sign is a subtle joke. The shop is called "Sneed's Feed & Seed", where feed and seed both end in the sound "-eed", thus rhyming with the name of the owner, Sneed. The sign says that the shop was "Formerly Kumar's", implying that the two words beginning with "D" and "S" would have ended with "-ick" and "-hit", rhyming with "Kumar". So, when Kumar owned the shop, it would have been called "Kumar's Dick and Shit".

This can’t be any later than 1970, NET changed the name to PBS that year and the in color bumper debuted in 1969
Actually, the NET name was still used until 1972 (mostly on WNET), even when PBS began.
