3 years later, is there shopping areas yet? I used to live in Bremerton but moved back to Florida. I’m moving back to WA soon and am choosing between maple valley and Wenatchee.

I lived on 263rd pl , back in the 60’s. House was brand new. I love it there. We walked everywhere. Walked to salt water park all the time.

Most people who are from this area are against Ten Trails development. Our beautiful forest was destroyed. Elk, deer and so many animals' home was destroyed. Now they just bulldozed more of the forest. It's really sad when this happens when the community is against it.

We moved out of Kent (east hill) 2 years ago and don't miss it at all. After 25 years watching increasing gang activity, homeless taking over the parks, mass traffic we bailed as soon as my company said we could work from home permanently.

Kent is the most ghetto sub city of Seattle you can find. If you want to live in Kent make sure you have a pistol

How does Maple Valley feel about ,non pan handling, homeless. I am coming home and starting a job in Lakewood east of the 5 Fwy, but I'm going to pay off bills between now and March 2023 before finding a rental home to live in. Lakewood is not a safe place at all, and I'm searching for a quiet safe place. I am an army brat and grew up in Puyallup but I don't remember Maple Valley. Just looking to sleep with both eyes closed.

Cherokee Bay has always been the cheapest hood in the area or you can go up the street to Timberlane

Maple Valley is a wonderful place to live. Long drive, but if you can turn a liability to an asset, you can enjoy your podcast or talk radio. The views of Mount Rainier are stunning. We don't want to leave.

what are safe affordable areas not far from seattle ?

Maple Valley is so beautiful. One thing I will say that may need to be mentioned is inclusivity. Maple Valley is an area where Proud Boys have a bit of strong hold. Crime may be low, but intimidation attempts really aren’t low for people who don’t fit a very specific conservative and racial mold. Which is a shame. I hope to see that change.

I’ve lived here for 30 years and this guy isn’t telling you all you need to know. I assume he doesn’t live here or hasn’t walked these neighborhoods in detail. There is a heavy presence of gang violence throughout Kent which hasn’t skyrocketed since COVID. The homeless population is rampant and drug use is visable south of Kent Station. Also, The first part sounds like he’s reading off of the Wikipedia page. If you need school data, go to OSPI Report Card.
