A compilation of some of my best skips while I was in Glacier National Park last summer. It was definitely one of my all time favorite locations to skip rocks. So many amazing views and super colorful rocks. In some spots, the river was shallow and clear enough to find and retrieve the rocks I had thrown.

The two smoke stacks in the background are remnants of the Moss Landing Power Plant, which was once California's largest power plant. The stacks are 500 feet tall. use to skip rocks like this when I was a kid long ago. Love the sound of the pat, pat... If you could get it without the sound of vehicles, your shoes and pants and such, you'd have a great ASMR video.

I’ve been asked a few times if I ever mark my rocks to make them easier to retrieve. And yes, I have tried painting a few rocks. Marking the rocks is only helpful when the water is clear and shallow enough, so I don’t do it very often. But as you can see in this video, I put some bright green paint on this rock and it makes it a lot easier to find especially when it’s 300+ feet away from where you threw it. You can see my black backpack is where I threw the rock from.
That was impressive but I've gotten farther. Just not that many skips.
