Добавлен 10 июл 2024
Videos about acreage stuff, mostly tractors and chainsaws. Planning to get a lot more equipment and share what I learn, so be sure to subscribe and follow along. I am not an expert in any of this stuff, but I am just having fun and hoping to be helpful to others along the way.
DIY Firewood Basket for the Skid Steer: Will It Hold Up?
The plan is to build a DIY firewood basket that I can move around easily with the skid steer. Instead of having firewood scattered all over the place, this setup should make it much more manageable. I’ll show you how I threw the basket together, load it up with wood, and test out moving it with the skid steer to see how it handles the weight. Tools used are the Kioti CX 2510, Kioti SL750 and Stihl MS261.

A WAY Better Solution For Storing My 5 Tractor Attachments (Kioti CX2510)
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.Месяц назад
I’m tackling some yard cleanup with the tractor and getting things ready for winter. A viewer suggested I store all my tractor attachments on pallets to prevent them from freezing into the ground once the snow hits-so that's exactly what I’m doing! Eventually, I’d love to build a proper shed or level out an area to house the tractor and all the attachments, but for now, this pallet setup will h...
Using Compact Tractor Attachments On A 75 HP Skid Steer?? (Kioti SL750)
Просмотров 641Месяц назад
Today, I'm putting the new skid steer through its paces by testing out a few attachments-starting with the bucket and moving on to the grapple and pallet forks. While I got these attachments originally for the tractor, I wanted to see just how much more capable they feel on the skid steer. This was my first attempt at switching things out with the quick attach system on the skid steer, and let’...

When I first got my grapple attachment, I wasn’t sure if it was worth the investment. After all, adding a third function and a grapple to your tractor isn’t cheap! But after spending a few weeks using it every day, I’ve realized this is probably the single most versatile tool I’ve added to my Kioti CX2510. It has completely transformed what I can do around the property. In this video, I share e...
Putting A New Stihl MS261 Chainsaw To WORK! Bucking Up Firewood And Sharpening An Axe
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.Месяц назад
I’m cutting up a bunch of wood and splitting it for firewood. I started by trying to use the pallet forks as a makeshift table to hold the logs while cutting them with the chainsaw, but quickly realized that wasn’t going to work-they just rolled all over the place! So I switched gears and did the cutting on the ground instead, and the MS261 chainsaw handled it all like a champ, though I ran int...
Quick Fix For A Common Issue On A Kioti Quick Attach (CX2510)
Просмотров 999Месяц назад
Loose quick attach on the tractor, been meaning to fix for a while. This hasn’t been a huge problem with the bucket, but it can be a real pain when switching to the pallet forks or the grapple. The quick attach would flop into the closed position, making it difficult to hook up to implements. I figured the problem is with the tension on the spring, so I tightened it up to see if it would stay i...
Moving A 40 Foot Utility Pole With The Kioti CX2510 Grapple And Chains
Просмотров 569Месяц назад
Today’s job is all about cleaning up the garden area and moving some large telephone poles that are in the way. Eventually, I want to redo this entire space and add a fence, so step one is to get these poles out of here! My plan? Use the grapple to lift them, wrap a chain around them, and drag them to the side of the road. The smaller pole was pretty light and easy to move, but the bigger one w...
Pallet Forks On A Compact Tractor... Useful Or Not? (Practicing With A Kioti CX2510)

I’m putting my pallet forks to the test on the Kioti CX2510 tractor! I’m still getting used to how they work, so today’s task is all about practice. First up, I’ll be seeing if I can lift some garbage cans onto the truck (without making a huge mess), and then I’ll attempt to load a heavy deep freeze for a trip to the dump. Spoiler: there’s a bit of trial and error involved! Along the way, I’ll ...

Getting A Rear Blade For A Kioti CX2510 And Testing Out The Kioti SL750 Skid Steer
Hope you get back to making vids soon!
Is the 3rd function kit a Kioti OEM or some third party product?
Habbit of connecting the loader hydraulic rubber caps (red.white.blue.yellow) together so the important side stays clean when you remove the loader and cover the quick connects
Thought you were from Canada! As a proud Nova Scotian I am enjoying the vids. The birch trees may have a growth called chaga. Very healthy. Love the tractor how much did you get it for?
You could buy that skid steer and another tractor with the savings!
Get yah a quick hitch brother. Especially if you have all newer attachments. Time saver if you ask me😊
Somethin' somethin' somthin' 4wd, somethin' somethin'
I found out recently they make rear PTO driven wood splitters 👀. Even just renting one for a day or two would probably make life real easy. Plus yknow, gadgets.
A good wear option for hoses is the jacket from an old firehose, check a local fire department for an old hose
My parking brake has always been terrible. Depending on which way the tractor was on an incline, I would either drop my ballast box or loader bucket on the ground to hold it still. I notice that when I go to shut the engine off, I will idle it all the way down first so on startup the throttle isn't high when it starts. My brother always leaves the idle high when he shuts it off so it smokes so bad when its restarted the next day lol. If its warm enough outside, it won't even give me the option of using the glow plugs, but if it lets me use them, I will use glow plugs even if its somewhat warm out and I notice it not only starts better but doesn't smoke much.
Quite the workout!! Good job!!
Now we're talking my kind of fun, I love cutting, splitting and stacking my wood. It makes for an enjoyable winter. Good job my friend 👍🏼
The more I'm running my tractor for some reason, the happier I am. 🚜😁
Agreed! Tractors are just the BEST. Thanks for subscribing to the channel!
TITAN makes an adapter that lets you take 3 point attachments and hook them to SSQA loader. you can use light stuff like I have a 7 foot landscape rake on a 50 hp 6500 lb tractor. I reach into the lake and grab sea weed. the other great use for the adapter is to stor your 3 point attachments vertically. PS there are 3 different ones by TIGHT ONE, make sure you get the heavy one if you plan to use the 3 point attachment on loader. you will need to buy a 25$ part. it looks like a horse shoe with a 1'' x 2'' piece of 8 inch steel on closed end. (for top link ranges) Titan in general is china junk but it does have its place here and there. PPS Titan fork lift att. are mostly china junk but they have a line called UA for UNITED ATTACHMENT. its a USA company that makes attachment that other companies put their name on. great vidjas rickk Canadarago lake NY (Cooperstown NY)
Thanks for the tips I'll definitely have to look into that, sounds very cool! All the attachments make it so versatile for sure-
I've been building stands for al my attachments out of scrap metal, mostly from metal shipping frames the attachments came in. mainly because its a fun project to teach my kids about welding and design. my understanding is you can't bleed the air off because its two deadend circuits (into two sides of the ram) and you have to make the air absorb into the fluid by holding pressure for a minute or two in each direction
Good idea on the scrap metal stands! Welding is definitely on my list to learn over the next few years. And thanks for the context on the air in the fluid! I will have to learn more about it.
Nice purchase
Thanks! I am STOKED on it for sure.
It's great that you clean the old stuff up and get rid of it.
Definitely feels good!
Glad to see you use the skids……might need to go 2 high if you get the snow I think your area normally does. Nice work 👍👏🇺🇸 Rick
We usually get a BUNCH of snow yeah, we’ll see how it goes haha
You are getting good and smooth with your operation. Good job my friend, only gets better every day too 👍🏼 Excellent video 📹
Thanks!! Definitely starting to feel more natural.
That is a 1000 percent awesome machine, enjoy it.
Love it so far! This thing is going to be put to WORK in the near future ;)
Know you are just testing, but be careful using sub compact tractor attachments on the skid steer. It could bend or break something on them without even realizing it. Also its a good habit to check the quick attach locking pins everytime. You can tilt the bucket into the ground or pick it up high enough to see the pins engaging the attachment. If your tractor got tippy picking up a few hundred pounds of pallets, im guessing it had no ballast?
Good point on the smaller attachments! I was thinking something similar, the SS is just WAY more powerful. Agreed on the locking pins too- And yes, that was without ballast. Fine when close to the ground, but trying to lift it up any decent height or turning really makes it an issue. Low and slow! Or straight haha.
If I may suggest…….place your attachments on a pallet or some 4x4’s so they do not freeze to the ground and they also won’t sit in water, snow or ice. They will also be easier “Hook Up”. Enjoy the new skid steer Nice machine 👍👏🇺🇸 Rick PS: I see you had the forks on a skid 👍
Good suggestion! Actually did this today, you'll see haha.
Id also try to center the weight on the grapple so you dont put more pressure on one loader arm and accidentally bend an arm.
Great tip!
Love my grapple , also if you curl it back after picking something up it helps to put more weight towards the tractor if that makes any sence , great vids keppem comen
That totally makes sense! I think I have done that without thinking about it, but I agree on the physics haha. Glad you like the vids!
Radial lift comes closer to you at full lift
Makes sense!
We have an SL750 we bought for our lot. We have an old building with a big lot. It's pretty rough with gravel, dirt, and inclines. We use the machine constantly, accruing over 500 hrs in the first year, and it hasn't needed anything besides tires yet. It moves tractor crates in and out, cleans up the lot, etc. The only problem I have with the system is the self-leveling. Because it's hydraulic/hydraulic it doesn't work very well and would probly be better off not even being an option. Kubota has the same problem.
Thanks for the comment! Haven't tried the self levelling feature yet, but good to know. I will report back with what I find! What do you mean with "pretty rough with gravel, dirt and inclines?"
@@acreagestuff We're a dealer, but our 6 acre lot has a lot of fresh dirt. It's not smooth parking lot terrain the machine is navigating. We're very pleased with it.
I have a new CX2510 gear drive tractor and noticed that none of the warning lights (4WD, P.T.O engaged, engine warning light etc)on the lower left instrument cluster work. Are yours working and if so can you show us what they look like? I'm currently awaiting a response from the service manager from the dealership.
I will try and take a look today!
@acreagestuff ok, thank you
not a cheap price either.
Seems reasonably priced for what it is compared to others on the market, but overall not cheap I agree!
Plus they are both Kioti orange and match! 😉
Added a skid steer already? Color me impressed! 😁
Very excited to add it to the arsenal! Lots of work to do...
Pretty sweet looking machine, and ive ran most of the brands of skid steers. You didnt have the tractor long before getting this!
Very cool to hear! This is the first I've had but it sure does seem like a nice machine.
Awesome skid steer! The Kioti’s are nice! Enjoy it!
Very stoked on it! Sure seems nice on first impressions. Thanks for the comment!
Great addition to your arsenal of equipment 👍👏 Enjoy ! 🇺🇸 Rick
Stoked on it! Will be doing some serious work with this thing!
Is that just a rebranded bobcat?
I have never been in a Bobcat, but I don't think so- That being said, as far as I know Daedong (who makes Koiti) also makes Bobcat tractors, so I'm sure there are some similarities?
They're totally different machines, BUT, Kioti did hire some staff out of Bobcat. The best way i've found to describe the machine is a cross between Bobcat and Kubota, but at a lesser price and better warranty.
Wheels give you speed... Tracks give you traction.
Makes sense!
What an awesome addition !! You will be a total pro on it in no time. Very happy for you, congratulations. Looking forward to your future videos 👍🏼
Thanks!! Definitely stoked on it- I am sure it will be very very useful and can't wait to get some hours in the seat.
As soon as I heard that sloppy engine slapping around I knew which tractor it was. I have the same tractor and it sounds exactly the same. The B2601 I had prior was much more refined, but the CX2510 weighs a lot more, lifts a lot more, and has a lot more torque. It's been a good upgrade for me.
Awesome, thanks for the comment! Yes, it definitely feels like a beast of a tractor.
Great videos that you're posting. I just bought a CX2510 gear drive with a snowblower and loader. I live in Northern Ontario and look forward to using it to move snow. I think it'd be best if you shorten up the chain and use the 3pt hitch to lift up the end of the pole to ensure that the pole doesn't dig into the ground and quickly lift the front end off the ground. There's been many a man flip a tractor in the bush while dragging logs out.
Glad you like the vids! And good point on the 3PT for the logs, I will try that next time! Was going pretty slow but I could definitely tell that the log was digging in from time to time, especially going up the little hill. Enjoy your CX2510!
I discovered a grapple should be the first attachment you add to a tractor. It's the most used attachment on my property. Great video. I hit the subscription button. Please return the kindness. Hoof N Homestead. Thanks.
Good video young man!! I couldn't have helped myself i would have tried to pick that tank up with my forks lol. I bought a new kioti ck3520se shuttle shift couple months ago love it really a pleasure to use. I also have problems with the levers tightened them made it better. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! Glad you are loving the CK3520SE!
Where’d you get the cutting edge?
Came with the bucket straight from the dealer- I thought it was standard?
Love my grapple! 🚜
Awesome to hear. They are SO useful!
Great video. Looking forward to getting one
Thanks!
Thats a very useful attachment for sure. You will become a pro with it before you know it. With the more use of it you will teach yourself tips and tricks daily, it will become your 3rd hand ✋️
Starting to feel like that!
I bought the 48 inch for mine and it is still heavier than my bucket. I learned quickly I needed ballast even with rear tires filled. Especially if you are making a sharp turn with a load I don't recommend doing. I should note I have the cab version which is slightly heavier than the non cab. I moved a lot of brush in less than an hour it would have taken me half the day by hand.
Can definitely make quick work of brush! And ya, I am planning on doing the rear tires filled soon for sure.
I only have had my Ck3510 chse for a couple months and purchased a 48” because i wanted to maximize my lift capacity. Haven’t got to use it yet because I’ve been trying to juggle my properties. Im really looking forward to it though. I so wish uncoupling didn’t spill fluid so much. It makes it difficult to grab the coupling to re-attach.
Don’t keep putting your brake on. You’re going to wreck stuff especially when tried revving it up when it was cold. Hardly even use mine to begin with
Thanks for the feedback! Starting to get a feel for it, but yeah probably don't need to apply the chainbreak everytime.
Leave it in the run position when it’s warm if you didn’t. Make SURE you read the manual if you haven’t. Best 50cc saw ever made.
Thanks for the tips! I agree, it's an awesome saw so far-
Love the term “Bucking Wood”.
Good job, love my Fiskars. Great little axes
yeah you gotta make that up down controller much longer. gotta be able to see what's left in the cargo bed when you have a dump
For sure- I always just stop it, and then peak around the trailer to see and repeat lol. Would be way way better with a longer cable or remote.
