crazy that my 2009 Ford Flex still sounds like this. Another common problem is the water pump leak on the FWD models. Mine has a minor leak that I know will need servicing very soon. Other than that, I also need to get the steering and suspension done. The engine runs and still sounds so good though. I love the car

My Dads stock 2002 5 speed manual e46 325i does 0-60 in just about 7.7 seconds on a rolling start but im shure if he timed his shifts just right and and launched from a still position he would get a way faster time .

I have a 2010 Grand Touring model. And i only have the 2.3L 153hp and 147lbs torque. To say it's SLOW when merging into highway traffic on a ramp would be a GROSS understatement. When they re-tweaked this vehicle in 2012 and only gave it a 2.5L and bumped the HP up to 157. I thought to myself what hell is Mazda thinking...!!?? They should have bumped the engine up to at least 170HP along with adding AWD. And then perhaps i would have reconsidered purchasing a new one. Instead i'm now in the market for a 2017 Subaru Outback with the 2.4L 175HP engine. And quite honestly it must be the CVT they use because its LEAPS AND BOUNDS faster off the line then my Mazda 5. I know a lot of folks quibble at the vehicles lack of HP but until you've driven what i currently have been. You come to GREATLY appreciate the extra 20+HP the 4cyl Outback delivers. I will say this though for those that are still driving there Mazda 5's since they discontinued the model after 2015. If you want extra merging power on the highway or going up hills i STRONGLY suggest switching the gear shift into automated manual mode. As it will hold the gear longer to get you up to speed faster and then you can shift it manually yourself or simply put it back into fully automatic mode. This is how i've been driving mine especially during highway use. Around town i just leave it in automatic mode. Trust me folks it DOES help somewhat especially when you need that merging or passing power on the highway.
