I grew up in Brownstown township Michigan ( between Taylor and Flatrock) on an eight-acre farm , but only saw garters , eastern ribbons , and sizable blue racers (beautiful snakes). Once saw a water snake at Sterling state park outside of Monroe , Michigan.
What about copprheads in Michigan ?. Not mistaken they are 'venomous".
Saw one once on the side of a dirt road when I was walking home from school once as a kid back in the early 90s, it scared the shit out of me and I ran as fast as I could home. I tried telling people about it, and they gaslit me saying I was out of my mind and it didn't exist, this was before the internet, eventually I thought it was just a hallucination and maybe I didn't, but this proves me right all those years ago.
Wheres mom💀☠️
I only have one I like to have two😊
Man, I wish that I had found your channel earlier. Good herp photography is tricky at best. I've been trial and erroring it for years 🤣. Your photo work is suberb
I've lived in Michigan my whole life(27 years) and have never seen one. I used to catch a lot of snakes as a kid so it's crazy to watch you spot multiple like this. I am in West Michigan area. I have ran barefoot through many meadows like this as a kid haha.
You're showing pictures without there names
Lived in Michigan for 67 years and never saw one. Never saw a tornado either. 😂
We have these snakes in northeast Ohio in the marsh lands. People still insist on killing them all the time even though they are a protected species in Ohio.
When a klaubs bands are even green, you know you're rocking out a bit! great vid man
Man those are some National Geographic leveL limages man! YOU ROCK!
I've loved in the UP for 43yrs and have never seen one. But I was told they're mostly in the LP
I have lived in the Upper Peninsula most of my life and have actually seen the rattlesnake once. I told others. They don't believe me. It is said this snake is not found in the UP...i beg to differ
Love to see them !!!!
Nasty. Bang, says my .410
What's this method you mentioned on shooting venomous snakes? I have a canon 8-15mm fisheye lens and I'm taking a trip with it soon.
That's the Allentown bridge if I ever saw it !!! I'm from plains (near Wilkes barre)
I live in Michigan and as a kid I loved to explore and walk through meadows and woods. Seeing how many of these snakes they have found I am very thankful I never came upon one as a kid and got accidentally bit. I definitely remember hearing “rattling sounds” but I just chalked it up to buzzing bugs.
My kitty cats just killed a baby blue racer that happen to come into my garage. The snake was a glowing blue/green absolutely beautiful. A shame that it came into kitty territory.
Good stuff! Keep the vids coming!
Just found your channel. We are local, but moving soon. We may have time to herp for fox snakes tho. Hubby used to find them all the time, he says. They are gorgeous!!
We saw a messasauga (sp) rattlesnake at Lake Erie metropark 3 years ago. It was a baby.
I've lived in Michigan for 53 years. Outside all the time, gardening, hiking, exploring, and I've never seen one. This is one reason I love the Great Lake State.
@@t.daniel5003 I know up until a couple years ago the only snake I ever saw in Michigan was a garter or maybe the northern water snake the area I like fishing though I think it was 2022 I actually saw my first Fox snake definitely the biggest snake I've ever seen in Michigan
Well, with the warming up of the climate, expect to see a lot more, not to mention a lot more climate migrants come and take up Michigan.
You peoples from USA make me laugh. USA has no serpents to be feared. Why don’t y’all come to Brazil and see some really dangerous serpents. The Amazonian tours offer really affordable rates by 2 day trips or more, very affordable if you wish to see and hold dangerous serpents. We have many sorts of serpents that can end the life of a full grown horse or bull in less than an hour. Thrill seeking serpent hunters should contact Amazonian tours. The contact info can be googreld.
Where was this location? I'm in central Florida and trying to find more road cruising spots
i never saw a snake near my house i did not kill
If that’s where I think it is, we got an afternoon lyre snake on that wall. This, after telling my buddy on his first trip to AZ, that we probably won’t see them. We ended up with four that week. 😂
Most productive area I’ve seen for AZ blacks is some of the less trampled canyons and creeks around Sedona, especially alone the back route to Flagstaff (grad school alma mater). Best for me was the one massasauga we got in extreme S AZ right on NM border. We were in between sites and traveling fast. As soon as we saw it my buddy swerved and we both started yelling like John Goodman and William Forsyth when they thought they left the baby on top of the car in raising Arizona. EZ:! “did I hit it???” Me: “IDT think so!” “Is it what I think it is???!!!” “I DO think so!” We must have been doing 60+mph, and weren’t sure how far to backtrack. But then we saw swerving tire marks on the road. 😂 Took a bit to find it in the grass but wetubed it, and got some awesome pics with a BP agent who stopped to see what we were doings Sorry for long comment, but just discovered you guys and wanted to share. Spent 15 years in AZ and miss it much. So obsessed with the desert, I gave my daughter the middle name, Sonora! Thanks for the great content. Think I’ll go Herping here in AR tonight! Need a Pygmy rattler. Only one I saw I didn’t see soon enough and ran over ☹️. My undergrad advisor was behind me and really chewed my butt. He wrote the Amphibians and Reptiles of Arkansas. 😂
Ive legit heard these in the wild and thought it was some weird bug 💀💀💀
What spots in Pennsylvania are you going to? I live in the Philly area and can never find much more than garters, northern water snakes, and eastern rat snakes
9:50 Good ole Cobra chickens.
Big slow EDB. Nice!
I just found one of these on my front doorstep the other day and thought I was going to have a heart attack! It was like 6 ft long. Nice to know it's a good snake and that it's endangered. I figured it was a black mamba that wanted to go all anaconda on me!
Yo! Rad content! Where could I find that plastic cover you have over your camera lens?
Wow, amazing racers. We knew nothing of them as a kid, one struck out at my dad's head. Out of fear and no knowledge, we killed it. Now I see our mistake, totally harmeless. I have been coming across a variety of snakes around my property for a couple years now. Haven't harmed one yet. I shew them off, I hope all of them survive.
You guys do a very nice job, thank you. The same rattlesnake family was recorded in Ohio in this mornings news. Highly protected by the state. Said to be extremely rare in Ohio. One of my step daughters found a partial skin of what appears to be one of these just up the road from our house last year. Though it was partially flat, the roundness still was apparent. This belonged to a pretty fat snake that shed this skin off. We never contacted anyone, guess now I learned how rare these guys are, perhaps I should have. I think we lost the skin. But, it appears they are here, healthy and a good thought they are productive. I just hope my dogs don't come across one, that is scary. Once again, thank you for your efforts and dedication. Because of you, I know what to look and listen for. ❤
do you ever run into poison ivy? or just poison oak?
My favorite snake 🐍 absolutely beautiful
nice work!
Thank you, Will! Definitely a fun project to work on
In Mich. also. I've never had a sighting but have heard that rattle.
Sweet! I gotta get my lifer
Ular kendang di sumatra banyak katanya..
Nice man! I had a question, what flash set do you use for your reptile photography?
I have recently been using Westcott products for flashes. Westcott flash (speedlight), flash trigger, and 24” Softbox
@@wakefieldwildlife sweet man! Preciate it! Your off camera flash video is helpful since we both shoot Nikon :)
Sweet.
Sweet 🔥
So pretty !
Hey man, where are you guys at in Michigan because I’ve lived here for 40 years and I’ve counted numerous species of snakes and never a massasauga and now I’m looking for snakes to harvest for my bow project and a couple of those would be just right but I’m sure your southern dip by Indiana somewhere or something right
Beautiful!
Love seeing next gen being taught about herps! Hope ya have a good time nightcruising and glad to see ya back!
Thank you!
