There's a lot of quick fire tips I left out, I'll make a part 2 if this gets traction.
Post directly to evidence, show pictures show text trails ... I'm not saying one way or another but i need a chain of evidence of claims being made. I mean one iimage was of a forum without a link saying like hey when are you ever going to fix your game!.
Sadly wow has no customer support and an abused automated reporting system. Had to quit cause I got account muted just about anytime I spoke out in a public chat.
I'm sorry to hear that. I played from day one and had the third largest raiding guild on dethecus server horde side. Things must have changed. They don't do that without reason... Not at that time anyways. It's been... Oh geez years. I can't believe how long lol
It's without reason. Ever since BFA. I get account muted for BG leading 40 man's, and muted for talking trash about the enemy team to my own teammates. Etc.
Makes me sad this awesome game has almost no current videos, it's all 3 to 6+ years ago...
I would of continued but they don't care about their community.
I've been playing a little over a month and a half. Very awesome game. Low census. It seems the bad PR has had a big impact. I watched this game for years and didn't get it because I read so many reviews like yours. You seem like a very cool guy and I respect everything you said and I like that you said it without raging. Not sure if the mods/guides/devs are still around that much? haven't really seen them. I have seen a bunch of very cool players who are hugely helpful and I have been loving the game. it is not perfect by any means but it is by far the best game I have picked up since minecraft (and everquest before that). I've met some great friends there and I"m just playing to enjoy the game, not to try to change anything. Maybe that's why I'm having fun and havent run into trouble? This game is a bit odd. I find myself soloing all the time which makes it feel less social. But there are daily group favors and raids where people come together. I find the chat system to be clunky which doesn't help with the social aspects. nonetheless I have met some of the coolest and most helpful people ever. The depth of this game is amazing. It is old school in many good ways. And I'm in a minority but who cares about the graphics, when the content is so much deeper, complex and funny than just about any other game out there. it is just amazing to me that two people built this......
Even if the guides and admin were gone (they're not) bad apples come from a bad tree, being the lead dev, that tells people to leave if they disagree with changes, and indirectly promotes the behavior by not cracking down on it himself. They could easily reach out to me, and extend an olive branch, but they don't. They are egotistical narcissists at their best, you may not see it yet, but it will bleed through eventually, a matter of looking around the curtains, unless you're docile and stay hidden and silent, you will be effected one way or another eventually.
I don't like bullies, so I'm glad I didn't give this garbage team any of my money. Should take a page out of that ban-happy modder and find ways to fuck with THEM.
One more, try Ethyrial, Echoes of Yore. Devs are super passionate, listen to feedback and respect their player base.
I also don't like RNG gear ;-;
You can strong arm most of the gear honestly. Just a shame they killed off crafting.
@@caim1337 While I love idea of modifications to skills and power on gear, I don't like when it's imbalanced and comes randomly in gear pieces. Like you mentioned, RNG power spike on same gear, hunting for better randomness reminds me of what I hated with Mythic/Titanforging in WoW.
Hey Caim, played it today. 5 hours. Had a blast, finished tutorial island basically and got to Superspider in first dungeon. Killed Gajus after he cursed me, I came back with revenge. There were some little issues here and there but... it felt like an actual RPG with thought, care, love, passion put to it. I really considered donating. But I read you, I read these conversations. Treating community... BACKER at end of all things like this is unacceptable. "Stop or be stopped. You can choose or I will make a choice for you" - this guy is a sociopath and should never be in charge of anything. This is how you threat cheaters/wannabe hackers/griefers, not members of your community. My issue with gameplay on other side was only that after leaving the Spider Cave on other side, I also had cartography active and very tiny part of map uncover while I travel. No major city or points of interests visible like in tutorial island. Landscape wasn't really made so well that I would have no problem navigating. It didn't feel appealing. Then I had to throw away like 200 items. In WoW or other games I played, I sell these items because I looted them, used them and wanted to get value out of it. But here, I couldn't carry, couldn't store or sell those items, had to throw away. I threw away sugar. Then I learn that I need sugar for some recipe. Design is lacking but it's still very fun, interesting, full pledged RPG that had a lot of time and care put to it. I will check around Steam for reviews and see if they got rid of that... attitude. Thanks for video man, hope you had fun. Getting this treatment from community you give your money and time to is... dishearting. Hope you found something better. Cheers mate.
Love the feedback. No doubt this game is amazing. I wouldn't still be playing it if not for the cut throat community. Really a shame honestly, they don't have the drive to make amends so I won't ever go back. I've yet to find a new mmorpg home. Maybe it will be monsters & memories.
@@caim1337 So far I hear only good things about Monsters & Memories. It also gives me D&D naming vibe which I love. I watched several development streams/videos like 3 years ago and saw that had an attitude, skill and experience to pull it off. I just wonder, just like with Pantheon, if M&M will be unique enough to have it's own voice/vision.
@@lionart5230 Yeah I played the stress tests, its like eq1 in a sense. I look forward to it, may be my new guide series project.
Hi! Thanks for the info! Just one question, pls. How long take to do everything until you unlock this race? 🎉 Thanks!
Hmmm
Found it
Ive been giving this game a Try. I play solo and have been really enjoying it. I figured a small player base like this would be culty as most are. Though I am thinking of quitting based off of gameplay alone. It's fun but it's charm wears off once you can't make any progress cuz I have no how to unlock something so you can unlock something, or just what to do in general. I honestly found Mortal Online 2 to be an easier game to understand compared to this one.
Back in the day you used to be able to be self sufficient and grind everything on your own, now you have to beg vets for everything cause the grind is bottlenecked.
i've been playing for two weeks and dont even know how to get staff or bow xD. The game is fun but without guides I would have no idea how to do anything.
Seems nerfed
Was gonna play but saw this. ty
Thank for your work. It really helped me as a newbie!
Bweh
Hey I was wondering if you still don't recommend the game and if so what game would you recommend that I can play on Mac
No, it's actually gotten worse, even people that agreed with me and stuck it out are mostly all banned now, and they ruined the game even more, basically almost dead. Not much I would recommend right now, project ascension, guild wars 2, and maybe monster & memories, but those all kinda meh
New to ascension, been using the grove ranger featured build. Could I do this build on the area 52 server?
To some extent, I imagine you could. Never tried
The Pangya music was an awesome surprise. Thank you for this guide!
The footage looked to be focused on prestige. How does this perform in high lvl BG? What's the end hps in clutch duels?
Yes
pog
For anyone that hasn't fought against this in BG's --- it's like punching a poured concrete wall.
After rolling down my level 60 scrolls in absolute garbage gear (28ilevel) im critting blooming shots for ~800 at 39% crit :D --- Missing quite a few things too so lots of room to improve. I almost wonder if there is a true hybrid version of this that can flex more into damage because of all the astral damage perks we get.
13:42 you said the primal enchant would give you agility but the enchant says it increases your primary stat, wouldnt that be spirit in that case and therefore relatively useless?
Always the nitpicker, but yeah I noticed that after I uploaded this lmao. Back to wizards
BREH now i know your secrets muhahaha
Maybe I left a few out. Never know 😉
I did find another way to make the build better, albeit more selfish, replace divine protection and void shift with summon void walker, and soul link. Replace starter healing pet with auto shot or hunters mark. Also this build takes off at level 21, because that's when you get infinite mana. Others improvements likely exist, still a fresh build.
good job not failing as soon as i did a 100 times. hahaha
Just use nothing but auto attack and auto shot lmao
mmorpg genre is dead as a dogs ass hole
Promo sm
Oh this is so disappointing to hear. I just got into it and I am addicted but I feel like I should stop now before my addiction gets worse lol. I've not seen anything bad so far mind you. Only a few people online and everyones been nice and welcoming so far
Yeah, once you look passed the facade and behind the curtains you'll realize everyone's very snakeish, and don't actually care about you.
If you are having a good time with a game why would you stop playing because you learned about someone's criticisms on youtube
@@Ravynheart This isn't an isolated incident
@@Ravynheart I'm at the point in my life with mmorpgs where I don't want to invest a lot of time if that game might not be around much longer, supported or just generally loses all it's player base. I only look for mmorpgs now that I can call "home" really and always go back to. I'm sure this will still be around mind you
I haven't seen what he's talking about. I do agree with his take on this zone he mentioned called Kur Mountains. They revamped it to make it look "better", and be a home for an Orc race, and players did not like the changes, and asked to just roll ot back and throw those changes away. They didn't take that well. But look how long it was for Blizzard to wake up that no, official Classic WoW will make you money.
Hi, I have a question. If you activate the goblin skin and die in between. do you stay a goblin after respawning or do you have to wait (like half an hour) before you can use the transformation again?
I believe it stays
@@caim1337 TY 😊
This game is a low key scam now
Dogwater
Can´t lvling anymore with professions at this challenge...
I don't know a single niche game that doesn't this sort of shit...it's hard to find good games with good ppl developing them nowadays.
do you know if we can reset the game entirely?
not through the game itself, but maybe through files and steam cloud.
you saved me a ton of time and money, thank you.
i know its only been 7 months and thats not really a long enough time for the changes that should happen, but just wondering if your still not recommending this game? i am currently downloading the demo to see if i would like it or not, but 40 is a lot to pay for a shit community ive done this too many times in the past week. this the same way i felt about mortal online2. i cant say the devs or gm's are shit but the community itself is absolute dogshit scum.
Wow..... hearing you call this close to if not your favorite game while also giving up on it because of the devs and community is so sad. I was looking at how unique the "skill" were designed and I was thinking about giving the game a try. I'm so used to mmorpgs where you pick a class and maybe a specialization and the skills/abilities come as you level. This reminded me of Runescape but with so much more character building. Hearing about this leaves a pit in my stomach, as I'm sure you also felt while going through this yourself. I almost want to say the WoW community and Devs care a thousand times more than these devs, mods, etc... That may be an extremely low bar though. At least WoW devs talk professionally towards their players. And they dont seem to stifle criticism. They may ignore it unless it gets way too big to ignore. But they never delete sincere comments or tell people to shut up or stop talking about something. Sad to see that story that seemingly came from humble beginnings, a husband and wife developing a game together, could end up so sour. Now it just seems like a passion project with a cult following. Which is fine if you accept it, but it makes it ridiculous for them to ask anyone to give them money for it. Like an mmorpg should be getting regular updates to bring the best possible game to the players. Sounds like they are just doing whatever they want. If the game isnt being made for the players, why should any gamer support them and play their game?
Wow's pretty soulless with their automated, easily abused report system, and automated support responses. Why I quit that game. (captain grim did a great example video on this) And yeah they basically are making a game for themselves at this point, actively scamming huge supports, and spitting on dedicated fans giving passionate feedback.
your right no one cares if you leave a game like project gorgon or most mmorpg way it is i been like playing mmo for years people drop out all the time i hate it a lot out them are good players help me i miss them i understand why they quit what you are saying in this video
Glad to see I wasn't the only one. I can't say I didn't get any enjoyment out of the game however after several hundred hours in game, it was extremely obvious that this game has a core group of users/staff that run the game, almost like a cult. I never got very vocal (despite the meriad of reasons to do so) but on the rare occasion I did, it was so obvious that feedback was not welcome.
Well I only played this a bit when there was a demo a few years ago but lately I’ve been itching for an mmo of this type. Would you still recommend to play this game?
Nope. There's sadly still hasn't been a redemption ark for any of the people that work for the game. I would however recommend guild wars 2, I'm currently maining that.
@@caim1337 ah well that’s too bad. Will check out guild wars instead then.
So first stream
I played the game for a long time but stopped probably 2 years ago. Like all games it had run its course with me and there were several new games to try. Met some really nice ppl in Gorgon and the guild I joined. The game itself, other than graphics really grew on me, and I enjoyed it for a long time. I never get involved with developers, drama...on any games so to me I had zero issues/complaints. His comments nobody farming here and there to cold, mobs to close ... on and on I never had trouble with those areas and found they were fun game mechanics that you could easily deal with once you figured out how. Yes, it could be challenging at times but who wants an unchallenging game. I think the developers have done a great job. Like all games you can't satisfy everyone. The guy that made this video sounds like he hated so much about the game then says he loved the game. If the staff, moderators, developers aren't doing things the way you like then go to another game or show us all the way it really should be done and create your own game. EVERY game has people praising it to high heaven and others crapping all over it for one reason or another. DO yourself a favor and try the game and judge for yourself.
Did you even watch the video, the cold bit wasn't even an argument on why the game was bad, it was because of the way people would just defend anything and attack the character of the person over giving criticism on a subject, like you're doing now. It was only brought up to point out the toxicity within the game, and you're helping prove my point. Also this is a video about on why I don't recommend it, not a review.
The Ohio flow is awesome
Thanks for bringing this to light. I was gonna get back into Gorgon as a noob <100 hours and... I don't want to be around this cesspool.
Yeah, it's a sad case :(
Gosh I regret buying this game recently so much. I never saw that unprofessional developers and moderation in game and on discord. Banning for reviews, banning for using capslocks in game (the unwritten rules are cringe as hell), banning for a different opinions. Banning in game for discord things or steam things. They took so much $$ from people and treat them like worst shit and block the ability to play for nothing in most cases. And banning for reviews? Why this garbage game are still on steam? Why valve allows this type of practice? This is below any standards. Its like going to shop and be kicked out for buying apples instead oranges lmao. Steam is their only source of publishing game to others and devs are are not authorized to decide how this platform may be used lmao and I am most interested in what complexes they are trying to compensate for. Instead of developing the game, they use it to put themselves above other people and feel power or something. How sad that is. Making a game is one thing, managing a community is another, and they can't do that. This is due to the lack of professionalism and respect for their customers. How can they treat people like this when the whole game was built on financial requests, kickstarter, $500 bundles, they are literally nobody without others thanks to which they owed everything was build WTF Private servers of other games have more players, what a shame. This game is about to close because the developers only see their ego and there is not too much players. I just wasted money for garbage cash-grab because developers treat players like cash cows and im really mad about it ech @edit They even made 3x times kickstarters for their game xDDDD Just imagine begging for money that many times for one title just to treat playerbase like that XDDDDDD they don't even respect themselves lmao www.kickstarter.com/projects/1045484633/project-gorgon-an-indie-mmo-by-industry-veterans?ref=users www.kickstarter.com/projects/1045484633/project-gorgon-a-new-approach-to-mmos www.kickstarter.com/projects/projectgorgon/project-gorgon-pc-mmo
All they had to do was keep updating the game and they would've had a loyal fanbase, cult classic. Instead they gave power to a handful of not-well-off people to moderate a community so small it doesn't actually need moderating, so in turn they have to make up their own boogiemans and arbitrary rules, in order to have something to have control / moderation over.
Hey mate thank you for the great effort, I've checked the spreadsheet and it is very useful for me as a new adventurer! ⚔
Good content! Cheers on your way in youtube, Fear and Hunger fanbase is small, but I watch this kind of content.
Yeah love the game a lot, gonna finish it and the 2nd game eventually
I remember being a new player ( around 50 hours ) and got portalled around to the boss runs by other players and at the end got portalled to some ice zone. I tried asking for help getting out and the admin just told me maybe you shouldn't be trying to do that content. Like wtf? I was asked to come this is retarded. I quit shortly after.
Sounds about right, they said the same type of shit to me, being a hardcore fae dying in a labyrinth, which made it impossible to get my stuff back without having to wait a minimum of 30 minutes, to upwards of hours, to being able to get my shit back, clearly a oversight on development. The community's response was "Maybe I should disable hardcore" or "I shouldn't got into the labyrinth as hardcore". Instead of the logical approach that they should fix the damn game.
