One nice trick I've seen is to sand the area flat and then use styrene cement to fuse the dust trapped in the unwanted line back to solid. Easier than having a bottle of melted sprue on hand.

What grit was the sandpaper you started off using to remove the minor scratch?

Hello, Thank you for the information. If you mix some graphite powder (also pencil powder) into the super glue (CA) you will have a colored super glue. You will see where and how much glue you have applied and you will know how much sanding you have to do. If you can no longer see the black color on the sanded surface, you have sanded enough. Quick question, I use Hiro paint Lacquer on my kits. Just pure no mixes, straight from the bottle to the Airbrush. But with minimal force the lacquer gets ripped by the masking

I use..... Large/ deep scratch : UV putty, of tamiya brand Super glue + baking soda, apply super glue on mistake, use soda to dry it, then sand & fix the closed canal Mr hobby LIQUID putty, this is a version of tamiya putty with extra thinner on it, it dries hard as epoxy & does shrink when drying, good for small mini scratches Mr Surfacer, undiluted, take it with tooth pick or small brush, drop it into the "really shallow" mistake, sand with 800 or 1000 grit paper when it dries inside & dry to your touch & make a micro mount of paint Also try to fill the canal with panel liner, see if the mistake will become trouble later or not, if the liner pools on fixed part, it means there's a gap in the fixes

Hobby shops should have a chisel called a Scraper, its a T shaped pointy needle.I use it to scrape off the seamlines that have been cemented. Its a pretty useful tool.

Instead of super glue which will have a different texture to plastic, try using some homemade spru-goo. Melt down part of a runner in acetone (tamiya cement etc) and you get essentially liquid plastic to fill in mistakes. You can also buy products for this.

i was going to point out last video that a mistake isnt "game over" but figured its better if people really believe that so they truly learn to take their time. but yea, tamiya putty is jesus in gunpla.

What I've done to remove scratches and stuff like that has been to sand it lightly till it fills with plastic dust and then put some plastic cement on it to sort of make a little cement goo inside the scratch, let it dry, and then sand it again. The super glue metod seems like a much more straightforward way to do that for when you're gonna paint the kit, so that is really cool to know.

I like your old school compass. That machinist style is way better than the pencil ones for drafting. Also glad to see someone else using the trick with the masking tape. It helps immensely in keeping the scribing tape from sliding around.

Yeah, the Chinese kits that have been coming out recently have been pretty impressive. They'll definitely be giving Bandai some competition - which will be good for the hobby overall.
