I reckon if after straightening that bit of wire, you could get it red hot on the stove burner, then drop it in cold water and it would be harder and stiffer than it ever was, and would never misshapen again. That's called quenching. You could also temper it if you had a mind to.
Ahh it’s one of those videos I found after so much searching how to fix it. Is that a scissor you’re using? And is there a template on what shape this must be bent?
People, please stop referring to the seals on the Instant Pot as being rubber, they are silicone. And get the other terms right. It's not called a puppet valve, it's a float valve. The big lid gasket is called the sealing ring. And where did you get that it makes 240 pounds of pressure? That would blow the top off! It's more like 10 to 12psi. But it won't let you open it while it's under pressure. However, I think maybe you confused temperature with pressure, because it can reach 240 degrees, not 240 pounds..
Finally! A video that showed me exactly how to fix mine, thank you so much!! The little wire piece was laying inside the lid of the instapot. Until your video I did not know that it needed to be inside the knob itself. Well done!
Yeah! The same story happened with me. When I found that little wire inside lid I thought it's something wrong with that, does not have to be like that.. and then I fond that video. I did the same things and ... IT WORKS. Thank you so much for that video! It's really helpful!!!
Boom! Thank you! Mine was steaming/leaking the entire time it was cooking today. I took the cap off and didn't see a wire, or clip. I figured mine was missing. 😢 Then I looked over, and it was laying in the area around the valve. (It is tiny! oh my), but I got it put back in, turned it on again , and viola'! Thanks tons!
excellent man, i just scored an instapot from the thrift for only $15 but this top valve was falling off, thank goodnesss this little wire peice was at the bottom, watched your video, fixed it in 1 minute, did the water test, all good. now to make some Birria!!!
i dropped my lid and that popped off. i put it back on, everything looked fine..and today was my first day using it and it started leaking. lo and behold, your video is perfect. thanks so much for this
works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
When I went to remove my spring, it sproinged across the room, and now I can't find it. Luckily, I have another pressure release valve. Thank you for the video. The Ninja Foodi is the same design.
Excellent. And FINALLY a RUclips video where the first words aren't "HEY GUYS!" The instant I click on a video and the "star" says "HEY GUYS!" I'm gone.
Out of a dozen different videos, this is the closest to my problem. But my pot is the Duo Evo and has a different looking valve. I checked inside and there doesn't seem to be any wires that I can adjust. The whole thing just sits a little crooked and shoots out steam the whole time regardless of whether the switch is set to vent or seal.
We have fiddled with that piece of wire many times and sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesnt.i am looking for a replacement for an Instant Pot Duo SV 8 Qt. If anyone knows of a replacement that works for our Pot please let me know the P/N and where you got it. Thanks.
Ours is leaking all around the lid not that valve.
Yup about 6-8 months and they just fail. Not even a year and they are trash!
Wow dude, you are amazing!!!!
Lost that wire clip, any idea where I can get a replacement?
Thank you! This info was EXACTLY what was needed to repair our IP. Thank you so much for making this video!
came for a fix.... Got a fix. 10/10 will fix again! Thank you @E3NAV!

"probably the best chinese skill you can get", wow racism is floating outside from my screen
It's a planned obsolescence they design a part to fail after 300 or so uses..
Thank you sir. I was losing my mind and this really helped.
The metal clip came out and has been sitting underneath the valve. This helped a lot, thank you so much!
