Sisk Family Lightshows
США
Добавлен 11 дек 2011
We are a family that loves Christmas lights and put together a lightshow for our local community to enjoy.
Our show starts with special lights called "pixels" that have tiny red, green, and blue LEDs, making them capable of creating thousands of distinct colors. The custom strings of lights are then plugged into hardware from Holiday Coro to translate the instructions to the lights. xLights is the software used to program the animation sequences you see. A small Raspberry Pi computer handles the scheduling and overall control of the show. A FM transmitter takes the song output and broadcasts it so that you can hear it from your radio!
We also print and sell parts that can be used in your very own lightshow. Take a look at our website for more information.

SFL PVC Drilling Jig Demo
This video was created with the help of Roger Montgomery from Christmas on Ivy Creek. Roger explains how to set up and use the PVC pipe drilling jig that can be 3D printed and used to drill PVC for 12mm bullet pixels. You can download the the STL files by visiting our Thingiverse or Cults3d design pages.

Vinyl Siding Pixel Prop Hanger Demo
Просмотров 7542 года назад
This is a vinyl siding pixel prop hanger to hang coro props to your vinyl siding. Each clip can reliably support up to 10lbs of weight. These were designed to be somewhat universal and only require the use of a zip tie for each hanger. The two holes on the flat base measure 20mm center to center and each hole is 7mm wide and 4mm tall. These are available in lengths of 10mm increments starting a...
SFL Drilling Jig Running Lights
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.2 года назад
The SFL Drilling Jig is unlike any other jig I've seen in the past. This jig is meant to make the drilling process faster, easier and more accurate than other designs. When used properly, a 10' section of pipe can be drilled in less than 10 minutes all while maintaining a straight line of holes. There is no need to remove the pipe from pins or even guess at which way to twist the pipe to combat...

Do you think it's better to cut the PVC to the window size and then drill the holes?
Great product, I am trying to decide if I want to buy the STL file and print my own or just have you print it! Any recommendations for the RPMs when drilling pvc?
If youre using the 12mm forstner bit how are you pushing pixels through? Do you enlarge the backhole to fit body lf pixel through?
What I would do is, drill through the whole pipe with the 12mm bit , then switch out the bit for a larger one and drill out the back so the pixels fit.
You filmed this from the worst angle ever!!! Not able to see what you're doing!!
Thanks for the video! I have been hoping to setup something like this for a long time but couldn't find a jig like this. My only question is how do you insert the pixels?
Thanks for the compliment. I drilled my holes out with a 1/2" bit. The pixels were easy to put in, but they can also fall out just as easy. To combat this, I added hot glue to the back to keep them in the pipe.
Great video especially the part on the first hole as I was racking my brain on how to start.
Glad it helped!
Definitely will have to try these out for this season, i've used the metal ones in the past but there was always the issue of attaching the props TO them. Thanks for another great design.
Glad to help!
Great explanation/demo. I'm just jealous of the workshop!
You and me both!
What are you using the 3 in spacing for? I am trying to decide between 2 or 3 for house outlines and roofline.
I believe Roger was using the 3" spacing for his house outline.
A daytime shot and maybe showing how those are mounted would be awesome. They look great!
I will see what I can do.
Love your sequence. Any chance of finding a link to the file? Been trying to duplicate for next new years but it’s not quite as visually stunning as yours.
This sequence was purchased from Starry Night Displays. You can check out their sequences here - starrynightdisplays.com/
Just curious wha type pixels and what type channels. You get really nice coverage of house shading for effects and what spacing of Pixels? Excellent job!
I’m still in planning phase for next year. 😬
Can't believe I did not see this earlier. So sorry about that. I use 2" spacing for my 12mm bullet pixels. I have them mounted inside of 3/4" schedule 40 PVC pipe that I drilled out. Thanks for your kind words.
Love this!!
Thanks!
Bravo! Another great display.
Thanks!
