Very good presentation. But keep an open mind. As good as Beasley is, there is still a lot of competition for those minutes at shooting guard. (Moore, Ivey, Holland, Thompson, who all play better defense.) (and can add Sasser, Hardaway, and Jenkins to the discussion)

He is also a capable scorer. Inside, out, and in between. Easy to miss that, since others were called upon for scoring much more than him. He is much more athletic than Stewart. I believe if you pair up Reed and Duren in the starting unit, they can work well together to protect the hoop, which would cleanup a lot of defensive problems. This would leave Harris as the starting small forward, where his postup skills will be more effective. (not that they are bad at pf) And that puts Fontecchio as the backup small forward, where he is a perfect fit.

If Reed can get rebounds and make fts, his services here will be beneficial, otherwise I can see him getting traded.

An overlooked skill of his is his ball handling for a big. He can put the ball on the floor and drive like a guard or a wing. This is something people who saw him in Philly wished he would have had more opportunities to do.

I detect too much listening to others, too much repeating by too many people, of the same thing. Repetition does not make truth. No, Sasser had zero to prove in the summer league. You can't talk about how Sasser did at the end of last season without mentioning what an unorganized mess the team was at the end of last season. Sasser did pretty well on defense, partially because he has a lot of extra length for his height. Sasser is not just a floor spacer, he is a very strong magnet of defenders; he'd look a lot better surrounded by other competent players, such that not so many defenders were concentrating on him.

Not a sasser fan... He doesn't pass enough and he doesn't get rebounds or play d other than fouling. Not sure why they traded up for him. Maybe I missed the games he looked good in, but I'm not impressed by his shooting or decision making.

The thing about stew is that he’s only 23 years old! I think he can legitimately become an elite 3 point shooter.

If BeefStew can hang around 35% from three, he can be our big-body enforcer. He's a great guy too. Hope he is a Piston for a long time.

Good content my brother. When I saw him play, he was scoring the ball with ease. He hit a few threes when we really needed them. He seems to play defense quite decently too.

I liked his archetype in theory...but he didn't pop in summer league at all which was disappointing

I appreciate the podcast. Nice note you gave, the one game he led his team to a win, guarding Morant well. One chance given to him, one win for his team. I'd say give him more chances. In college, Moore was the guy to go to, if you had to have a bucket, as well as the guy you go to for a defensive stop. The fact Minny had real good guys ahead of him meant no playing time for him. No lack of talent. Think of it like this: Can Beasley help you shut down Morant? Or Hardaway Jr? I believe if Moore gets a shot at playing time, he can beat out such players.

he's an intriguing player to say the least. His days in Duke made me think he could be another KCP/Desmond Bane type of player. He's a solid defender with an okay 3pt shot which is all you can ask for, except he's not excellent on either skill. That's why I think there's still a world where he blossoms like Lauri Mark did in Utah but idk if that'll be in Detroit.

Cade is more of a Rip, than a Chauncey currently. But can still become a Chauncey. He also should get to the FT line more, but refs inconsistently call fouls in his favor, but love to calls tap fouls on him. Almost like a gameplan to keep him down. The dude Dropped 50+ and never ball hogged or stopped trying to win the game. He could drop 60 with correct calls and on a blow out night where Pistons win! Its gonna happen. ( He only had like 8 pts, or something ridiculous in the first half of that 50pt game) If he gets hot, and having Fred Vinson here will help that, Cade could be MVP candidate...especially if the Pistons can miraculously win 40+ games this year.

i think Cade’s ceiling is a blend of Luka and healthy Hali (26pts 14ast type stuff) but plays good defense. pretty damn good

He came in the league at 21 and was underrated because he played three years a DePaul. He only played 6 minutes a game rookie year 8 minutes second year 10 minutes third year and then finally last year he got up to 19 minutes while shooting 36% from three was obviously a limit on him because of his position but he shot the most amount of threes by far in his career at that point and was efficient.. He also already played with Tobias a good amount and know each other .. He also did better when he was paired up with a true center like Embid cuz he’s a great cutter and help side defender guy.. Could see that working paired up with Duren. Is a steal and could be our four of the future at least I think so lol

I think he can produce Daniel Gafford type player if he doesn’t reach all star level. I think organization and structure can really affect a lot of player development. Cade is not a bad player and people given up on him. Although all these players weren’t in the best positions

I can't believe the hate on Duren. This guy is an absolute wall of muscle. Has had basically zero opportunity to play for a coach with any idea of what theyre doing. And still one of the youngest in the league.

Actually Duren has pretty good shooting form, definitely don't expect him to become an overnight sniper from deep but his form gives me optimism.
