This is my personal sharps 45-70 I'm not sponsored or given any ammo or rifles. This rifle has a Hi-Lux 6x sliding scope with a vernier scale. The load is a 500 grn lee hard cast bullet with black powder.

PSAK47 GF3: Only one malfunction, upon inspection kns piston was not properly tuned no fault of the rifle. A reccomendation for anyone with kns is when tuning tune to a full magazine! This insures you have enough momentum to strip a round under full spring tension. Current round count 1000. PSA AK105: 2 malfunctions to date both being mag related! This is a short review of my limited experience with the palmetto state ak rifles. I'm no expert but I have some previous experiences with aks in the past. ak 105 had 2 issues feeding I believe that was magazine related. In this video my friend Jake and I shot 3 different rifles with 3 different goals in mind for each. The two of us engaged targets out to 1000 yards and 1286 yards. Range day with my friend Jake. 300 prc made this look too easy. Jake had shot 2 different occasions at this target with 308 5 shots per try, he managed to land a hit. 6.5 Creedmoor I fired 7 times scoring two hits so it wasn't a cake walk with the other guns. Sharps and Rolling Blocks with pistol grip stocks were originally called Creedmoor target rifles, and yes they were used for buffalo hunting in the 1870's if you had the money for them.
I do have a rolling block in 45-70 that I'll do a video on soon it does have the sporting stock. I just think the sharps looks better with a straight stock. I equipped it with a peep vernier sights.
I have a couple of custom rolling blocks and a shiloh sharps , one is 45/120 and the others are 45/70, . I only run black powder. I love the smell and the cloud!lol. I cast my own bullets as well. That milky stuff you are talking about is Ballistol. You mix the water soluble oil with water, works great. I've used it in my 1873s and my lever action 4570s and never had any rust or corrosion. It makes my day to see people still choosing to shoot these wonderful old style guns! I know BP is a pain in the butt, but man is it so much fun! Thank you for the great video
Thank you for that advice on the ballistol and water. I'll be sure to use that! The old guns challenge me more, and in a world of turn, key match ammo it's fun to shoot a gun that arcs like a rainbow.
@nidavellirforgeandgun9369 absolutely man. Like you I love AKs. I have a couple from Jim Fuller, m13 industries, and a few others, and I love precision rifle, I have a few of those as well. Once up on a time I shot alot. Another thing you can do to keep your fouling down in your BP loads. Back your volume down some and use cream-of-wheat (the stuff for breakfast) on top of the powder charge and it scrubs the barrel clean ,so every shot is cleaning the previous. You never get a gunked up barrel during a match! That more applies to pistol and lever guns in SASS style matches, but I do it in my buffalo guns too. And you can do that to just take up volume, so if u wanted to just run 50gr of 2f in your 45/120 just fill it the rest of way with cream-of-wheat. I'll be watching your channel. It would be amazing, and I also want one, but sourcing brass is very difficult
I've been a fan of Sharp's rifle for years, I finally pulled the trigger ( figuratively and literally) about 10 years ago and traded for a pedersoli Sharp's rifle 45-120. I have loaded with trailboss and a 370gr pointed bullet, but normally, I load bpc only. 110gr goex and a 610gr round nose. SPG lube and .030 fiber wads. It will wake your ancestors when you pull the trigger. Hahaha I'd love to pick up a Malcolm scope for it sometime in the future.
That's awesome. I have plans to send mine to the smith to rechamber it in 45 100 or 45 90, but the brass has been a bear to locate. So until I source a big stock of it, I'll keep it 45-70. Nice workup. I bet that thing thumps! Mine is from Hi-Lux I like it it was pricy with the sliding vernier scale and shade extension but worth it!

It came with the gun itself. I just recently replaced the stock with the krg xray chassis

@Matt_Hntr with the 212 grn eldx hunters it did for sure and that was my worst shooting ammo so I'd assume half minute or better with the eldm.

My bergara is shooting like poop!!! I sent one back to Bergara, bought a new one and it sucks too! Bout ready to never buy a Bergara again.
I hate to hear that. Did any of the suggestions in the video make a difference? I just bought a krg xray chassis so I'm excited to see what kind of difference this makes.

How’s that because I’ve been watching videos and reviews and plenty of people say it’s their best ak. What problems are you having? I’m buying one next week so I’m curious
I hate to hear that, but all things made by man some will have issues. The best part of psa 100% no questions asked life time warranty. Call get it fixed, good luck getting ahold of romania, russia, or narinco. Zastavas are as close as you can get to kalashnikov. The downside is not as many interchangeable parts, so take your pick.
@ I’m glad I snagged a molot vepr years ago 👍🏼 Zastava USA is pumping out some beautiful builds picked up a another M70 a few months back. I really want PSA to do well but I don’t think they’re there yet. This GF5 I have is nice but I don’t see it lasting past 15k

Drayton....Do you recall which leather-wrap set you ordered? Was it the Rooster Cogburn combination? Jon said he thought is was the Rawhide set, but yours sure looks like the Rooster set Help?

This was a great video video! I’m very sick of the 3000 table top reviews. We want to see people shooting them talking about the recoil recoil mitigation things you can expect with the rifle, etc. etc. This is the perfect video and thank you for putting it out.

My dads in 6.5 PRC won’t cycle so getting the chamber polished for him and the magazine checked (but the accuracy is superb for a stock rifle). I do respect Bergara when their rifles work, but they need better QC for sure. Good info in this video, thank you for the honesty!

My 308 just snapped the extractor in half it also has the crap bolt shroud. So since that happened I decided to take the rifle down. And mine indeed had the paint issue as well

I’m just getting into old west type guns now. I’m tired of many years of plastic and aluminum. I need some wood and steel guns.
Can you shoot modern loads in it ? Or only cowboy loads ?
I Reccomend sticking to lighter loads

I think it's more the toggle link action you need to worry about the steel the barrel has won't be the issue. That's why the 86 came out with the beefier action to support hot loads. Don't quote me on the year of the action. I'm not a wild west gun expert.
I have a WBP and Zastava, regarding the price, is PSA worth it? Zastava and WBP have been keeping up with demand..
I've had good luck out of my psa ak's I got them due to the warranty they have as well. Zastava and wbp have been in the ak game a long time! They are well tested, dependable guns that come with an outstanding reputation. All are great choices! I'd be happy with any of the above listed ak's!

@@kurtlauer2005I have a few zastavas, WBP jack and a WASR but I did get a gf5. It seems pretty good so far…400 rounds no issues but I will be getting a WBP firing pin for this gf5 because of the ALG trigger
Spoke to Bergara US the other morning. Here’s what I learned. Bergara claims “Remington pattern ” with their B14 series rifles. That applies only to the receiver . If you want to make changes, such as bottom metal, you can’t. Everything other than the receiver is proprietary to Bergara! If you have other rifles that use a certain magazine, and you want to convert your B14, you can’t! You’re stuck with different mags for the same round but different rifles. AICS pattern magazines is about the design, not the size. One might expect 300 Win Mag in an HMR, remember it's a match rifle, to have the longest magazine possible., 3.850. You would be wrong! You have to go to 300 PRC for the 3.850”.The HMR 300 Win Mag magazine measures approx. 3.53” inside. Why they spend money making two different bottom metals and magazines in a 300 class round, when they only need one, would seem to be a waste of company money. It seems Bergara is putting the screws their customers. If you paid extra money for the Wilderness version, you may feel ripped off if you bought a magnum HMR. And no. Bergara will not sell you a replacement bottom metal. Someday they plan to. Doesn’t that make you feel all warm and fuzzy. I hope this helps clear up any confusion. If a long magazine is important to you, a few of Bergara competitors have rifles in they price class that have the big magazines.
I have no intent to change anything on mine but that would suck. I have the 2.85 in 300 prc. Other than that, coating on the lugs shoots great.

Jmac has supressor host muzzle device options for the AK105 threads. I use the 360 I think or X series. Just remove the rear plate from the supressor and it threads right over the muzzle devices exterior threads. Drop some more videos!
Yeah I want one my can is titanium with no end cap removable option direct thread only it was more for my hunting rifles. My next can is the pvs one! I have new vids coming in a few days. Awesome new guns.
Nice bro 👍🏽 I got the same exact 105 in like a cherry color. I haven’t got to shoot it yet though due to the steel case ammo but its good to know they run good. Any tips on where to find different ammo?
If you search under caliber at palmetto state armory, you can find it. Also, academy carries a brand of it if you live in the south. Can also be found on classic firearms as well.
Also, psa is starting a steel case ammo manufacturing plant, so in a year, we can get some domestically produced ammo at good prices

Nice shot. I got mine out to 6 on a 10”. Blew the the plate off the chain. Very efficiently powerful .30 cal. Your lucky to have a great set up area for practice.

Where the steel is placed there is next to no grass I put shale there so I wouldn't worry about sparks catching fire in summer.

Love the AKs especially that Ak-V, haven't shot it but I would to know how it is as an PCC. I have the AK-P GF3 and only had a squib malfunction but I think it was due the ammo. I haven't gotten around to firing it after I removed the squib and cleaned it yet.
I make hits out to 200 yards with the akv very easily and it is very useful as a truck gun running around the farm! Glad that the squib didn't cost you a gun!
@@nidavellirforgeandgun9369 I can attest to this. Although I think I’ve shot over 50 with it maybe twice 😅9mm isn’t very effective outside 50.

You can get a reduced spring and it’ll take care of that lever safety… it’ll still operate but you won’t know it’s there

My experience is great its smooth shooting I've had next to no issues and it was a blem, couldn't even find the blem! Reccomendation is grt a kns it makes them super smooth just remember less gas makes aks less reliable. Always tune to full mag.
I have a PSA "MOEKOV" folder and it's awesome. My brother in law has a PSAK too and neither of us had any issues yet. Also I have an PSA AR15 that's had zero issues.
I'm a believer in there products! I have 5 firearms from them all have had no issue! I hope they serve yall well! I'll keep updating on round count progression.
