Добавлен 1 мар 2022
I started this channel when my husband and I took our one year old to go test out living in Europe as a family. since then we’ve had our second baby, spent some time living back in Nashville, and moved back to Amsterdam where we live now. we are constantly working on integrating all the parts of our lives into each day: our careers, parenting, self development, community, all of it. I hope you enjoy these videos- I love sharing them with you and hearing your thoughts along the way xx

Maybe see if you can get involved with a nanny group in AMS. Like go to the park once or twice a week w the kiddos to meet up with some Nannie’s & practice your Dutch there with them. I still recommend having a tutor and taking classes (you will need it) but to exercise your speaking skills, I would go gather with some Nannies because they will most likely give you great perspective on the language.
I LOVE yin yoga!!! It’s a huge release and DANG don’t you feel great after. I love doing a late night yin yoga before heading to bed, & the classes I go to are also heated here in Nashville
3:57 ❤❤❤Yin Yoga! Love the aroma tip! ✨✨✨
It was suuuuuch a game changer!

America is too multicultural
Have you heard of the "Consultatiebureau" in the Netherlands? Almost all kids up to 4 years old go there for vaccinations, medical check-ups and consultations for parents if you have any questions regarding your baby. Perhaps this could work for you as well? Love the vlog. Greetz from Amsterdam xxx
As a Christian who holds my faith as the most important thing in my life, I resonate so much with the “not trusting your desires and what your body is telling you.” I was raised the exact same way and I think it’s so wrong. The Bible says the Lord created us uniquely and specifically with certain gifts and desires for our lives. Those are traits the Lord gave us Himself!!!! And I was raised to never trust myself, never listen to my own desires - and I believe we are to run to prayer with our desires but the Lord gives us desires, He gives us direction, so we must CERTAINLY lean into how He created us to be. I notice that’s a bigggg belief in boomer Christianity. And I honestly believe it’s off base in a large way. I agree we shouldn’t rely on ourselves or trust our heart for everything, the Lord gave us a brain, gave us a personality and gave us free will. We are unique for a reason!!!
I am glad that some religions are shifting their language around this! And not only referencing Bible verses like “The heart is deceitful above all things” Jeremiah 17:9. I’ve dabbled in multiple philosophies and religions since deconstructing my faith and have found very similar themes of valuing lack of desire and not being attached to things, so I don’t think it’s only Christianity! It’s interesting though when I started digging into it more and wondering why a large organization would find it valuable for people (especially women) to not trust their desires and instead trust an outside authority…
Thank you for this Hope!
You’re so sweet! Happy to share 🫶
legit when you said every year we’ll have the same banner my eyes teared up a little! Feeding me little kid inside that would live to have that and want to give my child❤️
I’m so glad you get it 🥹 It makes me so happy creating little traditions like this!
I SO love hearing about your freelancing and the beauty of choice (and of saying no.) as a freelancer myself it really resonates! I’m turning 30 next year and SO feeling all the transformational energy too.
I have my own business too! Love hearing about other females who do this type of work too.
Ahh such an exciting time in life! All the transformation energy ✨
I loved this video. I find your content so peaceful 💚
That makes me so happy to hear- thank you :)
Hi Hope! I'm also in my saturn return :) I'd love to hear about your freelance journey and building your business, if that is something you'd like to cover in a future video!
Ahh such a wild but exciting season of transformation! And yes, I’ll make a note to chat more career journey stuff in my next vlog :)
Great Video! I love hearing your thoughts about having agency and trusting yourself and learning that after coming from a religious upbringing. Such important lessons to learn!
Thank you for saying that! It’s been such an empowering lesson for me to learn over the past few years
I learned dutch from @learndutchwithkim (for grammar) and a passive learning immersion approach, mainly audiobooks, but also podcasts, music and RUclips. It worked.
11:49 love the wisdom you’re sharing here!
thank you!! love a good candid kitchen chat ;)
I have 3 boys similar age to yours. If/when we make the jump we need to have playdates
Aww, it's so sweet to see your first Amsterdam experiences! Your bakfiets practice moment took me waaay back to 2009. When I first moved here to be an au pair, the family had me immediately dive in to driving three kids around town (haha, in the middle of winter, WTF was I thinking?!). Just watch out for the tram rails and you'll be fine!
I can’t believe it’s been a month already!!!
I made the move from NYC to Amsterdam 6 years ago and I can't even imagine doing it with two kids!
Your voice is actually so soothing idk what it is lmao
wow that is such a compliment because it’s always cringe for me to hear it back haha
Yes , you wil move to The Netherlands over one year and 4 months. You wil have a beautiful house and…. A baby!!
Haha if only I had known!! How much can change in a year
What a Venusian treat!! Grabbed a mug of coffee & settled in. Would love to know what navy top you’re wearing there for your monologue!
Such a compliment, thank you :) The top is what I found at the vintage store in the video! I wish I had 5 of them it’s such a comfy fit for fall
cool to see your journey!
thank youuu :)
Home tour pleaseeeee
8:33 so ready for outfit pics in that mirror!!
For me I remember feeling so overwhelmed in the grocery store with no familiar brands.
I stand in the aisle with Google translate for an embarrassingly long time right now haha
Do you guys speak Dutch? 😮
Not yet! We’ll be learning :)
Literally can’t wait to visit 🥹
Sameeee 😭
Love that you loved Michigan! I'm from Michigan and my grandparents lived in Traverse City when I was little and this reminds me of summers with them.
Aww that’s so sweet!! Spending summers there regularly sounds like an absolute dream
The process of deciding what to bring with you when emigrating is so hard! Until then I didn't know how much the random stuff on my shelves meant to me haha
It’s like all your stuff just suddenly expands!!
Congratulations, so exciting!! Can you please share HOW you are able to move to Europe as an American? I would love to know the process!
Yes! I’ll film a Q&A vlog next that explains more of the process we took and how we actually ended up here :)
I'm so excited for you guys!! Can't wait for all the moving vlogs to Amsterdam!
are you bringing both of your strollers? do you prefer one over the other? looking for a good double and I’m torn!
We loved our UppaBaby system but got a Zoe double stroller recently instead because it’s so lightweight and easier to travel with (folds up so easily too). Feels easier moving and traveling with just that!
4:39 haha I love how Remy looks at the camera like “are you hearing this??” 😂
Hahaha he’s like “these people!!”
How did you find an apartment in Amsterdam from US? What company or website did you use? Can you elaborate on the process of how you accomplished this?
I can explain more in my next vlog but we looked for a lot of apartments via the Pararius website and then hired a company called Homecrew to help us which was huge since we weren’t there in person to view places and could trust them to help us with any negotiations, paperwork, etc.
Is there a spreadsheet that correlates to this organized system you created?
hehe how’d you guess??
perfectionnnnn, grateful for the Chambers <3
아이들과 함께 건강하고 행복한 시간 만들어 가세요.
If you don't mind me asking what is free lance and how can I do that 😂
Thank you for these vlogs! I’m still ttc but have been thinking of the same thing, going to the 3 or 4 countries I’m considering moving to and just testing them out for a month or two so this is an amazing series.
I loved this!! The way you described your birth story made me feel like I was talking with a friend! I’m due in June and hearing positive birth stories are so refreshing. Wishing you all the best with your little ones ☺️
Aww I’m so happy to hear this! Best wishes for your delivery!
Love your videos so much! I actually bought Awakening Fertility by Heng Ou after hearing how much you loved The First Forty Days. I have a few questions for you: Could you share a list of all the doctors you’ve prioritized during and after pregnancy? Could you share books you read before, during and after pregnancy? Thanks so much!
Would love to hear how you’re approaching sleep this time around! Esp since it’s a big factor contributing to our health
Sooo important and so hard right now haha! I’m actually about to meet with a sleep consultant for the kids in a couple weeks and may share what we learn along the way. I’m a very gentle parent but want to get support to set the whole family up for success with sleep bc it’s so valuable for everyone!
love all of your videos!! thanks for what you’re sharing
Aww thanks for saying that!!
Loved this, Hope! - Ari B (on my hubs' YT lol)!!!
Yayy- thank you!!
11:08 I love Remy’s green sleeper! Looks so soft. Could you share the brand? Thanks for such an honest video! Here’s to more sleep! 🫶🏻
Aww tysm!! The onesie is from Kyte (bought it with my first baby before all the company drama came out haha- it’s still such a great onesie though)
@@hope.ss.chambersI knew I recognized it from Nico content! Thanks!
Such an honest and real take on the amazing and overwhelming life shifts that happen with a new baby. Thanks for sharing.
So kind of you to say- thank you!!
Happy to hear Nico is well! This is very useful info as we plan our trip to Portugal. All your feelings were valid.
Our birth experiences are so similar. ❤
I love to hear it!
I love that comment “ So cool to see woman supporting each other, getting to experience [birth]”. I am wholeheartedly so glad that your last birth went so well! Congratulations on your little boy. Just the sweetest. Thank you for keeping us updated, and sharing how you also take care of yourself throughout this whole experience. You’re the best!
Aww thank you! So glad I’m able to share the experience :)
