Welcome to Swedish Movie Guy!
Like the name suggests I'm from Sweden and have always loved movies growing up with blockbuster franchises like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Rocky, Rambo and James Bond among others.
I have for quite some time filled my phone's notebook with all kinds of movie-related rankings. So I thought why not share these lists in a fun format? And hopefully reach like-minded people. I know my rankings might be a little unusual with not the most obvious and popular choices, but hopefully that makes it more fun and interesting! After all, opinions are always subjective.

This is a ranking of my 5 favourite directors, all amazing filmmakers that has delivered the best movie experiences for me! Picking just 5 meant that some great directors had to be left out, I mention a few of these in the intro. They can be seen as honorable mentions for this list. Anyway, hope u like this video!

This is a ranking of my Top 5 opening scenes! Clearly a very important sequence for setting a specific tone, to hook an audience and introduce main characters in a film. I believe Skyfall deserves to be in the top five. It’s a masterpiece in every way ( plot, villain, and music) and artfully and effectively replaced M, Q, and moneypenny with interesting and relatable characters.
Skyfall is really good, no doubt. Great opening scene, nice title track, memorable villain and brilliant 3rd act. Could have been an honorable mention, for sure.

Sean Connery killed people with class and professionalism
To me the most important part of the J.B. franchise is the soundtrack music. Bill Conty, David Arnold, Jan Zimmerman, Thomas Newman and Michel Legrand did not have the knack for it. John Barry will always be #1. George Martin #2. Marvin Hamlisch #3 and Michael Kaman #4 The next composer for thr new J.B. film should be John Powell. What he did for Jason Bourne he can do for James Bond. And that's the bottom line cause Stone Cold said so (from 976-CREOLEMAN)!
Contact would be in my list. I recall sitting in the darkness of the auditorium as the Earth dispeared and we travelled beyond the edge of the solar system hearing old broadcast radio. Stunning in a cinema with a good sound system.

No single Sean Connery's deserve to be in a top ten list.
It's interesting that you're sort of a "movie-Bond" guy, so you gravitate understandably to Goldfinger and the least ruined of the spectacular Moore Bonds, yet you also appreciate the Dalton and Craig era "back to the book" spirit. All told I'm inclined to say you're pretty objective about the whole phenomenon taken as a whole, which also forces me to admit that my book-centric grumblings are sometimes a bit out of place for the larger context.

For Your Eyes Only would be in my Top 10. The World is Not Enough is Pierce Brosnan's 2nd best Bond film with an amazing opening scene. So those two I especially like of the ones you mention.

Sean Connery will always be the best Bond for me, he was so good they brought him back. I hope the next Bond is a good choice. I would have liked to see Tom Hardy or Jason Statham as Bond, just for a change in persona but he will probably be a straight cut choir boy😅
I've also thought about Tom Hardy as an interesting and different choice to portray Bond. Henry Cavill could also be good, although in a more traditional sense.
@@swedishmovieguy Tom Hardy reminds me so much of Steve McQueen, The King of Cool and I think Steve would also have been a good candidate for Bond back in the day.
If they could tone down Cavill's looks, like with a non-glamorous haircut and careful lighting, he could play a wonderfully serious Bond, and that playing against type (you'd expect him to be more on the Roger Moore axis) would be fun.
Barry you will see Jason as the new Bond man In 2026...he's incredible in his fighting style....I have always thought he would be great....the body plus the smile in a rugged kinda way....

He got plenty of credit for playing "a" "James Bond", despite the fact that his Bond didn't have much to do with the books, or with those movies which tried to stay in orbit around the books.
I absolutely love "Fright Night" as well. But my favorite vampire movie is "Interview With A Vampire". I also like "Blade" and "Underworld".

Force Awakens is perhaps the least bad of the sequels, I’ll give you that. Having it as the best Star Wars movie is umm, just no. The worst movie out of episodes 1-6 is by far better than the best movie of the sequels. That entire trilogy was unacceptably bad. It needs to be disregarded and remade.

Surely it has to be the original three, and then 2 of any of the others including prequels and spinoffs, but The Force Awakens was a dog sh** rip-off/amalgamation of other storylines retold. Then the other two Skywalker Saga ones were terrible too. I got turned off the force awakens the second I heard about "StArKiLLeR BaSe"..... jesus f-ing christ.

5. Dial of Destiny 4. Temple of Doom 3. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 2. Raiders of the Lost Ark 1. Last Crusade I could easily switch 1 & 2 around but the 3rd act with all the booby traps Indy has to go through to save his dad and Harrison Ford’s and Sean Connery’s dynamic puts Crusade over Raiders for me.
