You can also use this in the flower garden to showcase those climbing beauties and it requires very few materials and just a little time to build.

So glad you were inspired by the video Tiah! You inspired us to post the latest sack garden tutorial we made last year as we hadn't posted it yet! Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/igNQHufc9Q4/видео.html We also have an older tutorial on our page as well if you would like to learn how to make one yourself. It's very easy and a beautiful way to make a compact vertical garden! Looking forward to seeing some photos! You can tag @refarmers on Instagram!

8:19 i would recommend buying one of those large plastic kiddie wading pools. You put several sacks in the pool, and you water from the base. It wicks up, and leaves a shallow pool of water as a reserve on the base. Because the bags are so porous, they ensure maximum oxygen to the roots, but the flipside is they dry out quick. Thats why you need a water reserve at the base, it will cut your waterings significantly, and so long as you dont over water they will wick out every week or so preventing any mosquito larva from having a full life cycle

That is a brilliant idea! Thank you so much for taking the time to enlighten us on this method. We are actually building a website with all these resources called Tiny Gardens and will put that as a watering tip! Amazing! Thx for taking the time to comment and let us know if you have any other ideas!

I just found out about growing potatoes (I'm a new gardener) in burlap sacks. Thinking, "Hey, what about growing other vegetables in burlap bags?" I found your video. I love this idea, the plant tower. I have a small yard and have run out of space. Also, I was feeling horrible about thinning so may seedlings that are thriving but too close. Now I see I can give them a new place to live. Thank you!

That's amazing Michele! So glad this video helped you think about sack gardening in totally new ways! We are advocates of small scale gardening especially sack gardening and actually in the process of collaboratively developing a new platform called Tiny Gardens to share more information, school curriculums and stories about sack gardening and other very small scale gardening techniques. Hope you will join us on that platform when it's ready! We also have a Facebook page and Instagram which has loads more photos of sack gardens (also the potatoes sack gardens we did!). You can find us at Facebook.com/refarmers.org and Refarmers on instagram! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment!
