cool video, i have been looking into becoming a welder and i have been trying to understand all the different things you can do besides pipeline!
@@staytongordon8416 there are many different avenues! I would say union is the way to go though, which could be pipefitters or boilermaker. If I could go back I would’ve joined a union. I didn’t even know it was a thing when I went to welding school though. A union will train you and pay you at the same time. Plus you could work pretty much anywhere in the world and union wages are high. Outside of unions there are fab shops, welding production lines, etc. There are good jobs outside of union, but hard to come by, especially if you live in a small town. Check your local union to see if it appeals to you! I wish you the best! (Btw, the pipefitters union could mean welding pipe in a factory. It doesn’t necessarily mean welding the huge pipelines that’s carry gas)
Nice work

You laid dimes down for structural steel. That's just dangerous.

What a coincidence that this video popped up in my feed, I’ve been thinking of shifting my career from an automotive tech to a welder, how long and about how much does it cost to be trained in this field? Ps I like your kitties :)
@@thesoulxsociety5068 aww thank you! The welding school I went to had a fast track program of 3 months. The program is about $10,000. I went to Georgia Trade School. Idk where you live but I would look into a pipe fitters union. They will train you and pay you at the same time! I wish I had known about the union to begin with! Union is the way to go! I never joined a union, but if I could go back I would. You will always have work, worldwide! And the pay is fantastic. I hope this helps!
Thank you for your reply! I will definitely look into a union to see all my options here in California

This is the garbage being taught. Everyone's a victim
No offense but that homeless hair style like you can't be bothered is disgusting.
Would love to see how you maintain your hair's parts etc :)
@@ramblingrue okay! I will make a video on this!
I belive with all my heart that people who have time to lecture and fight with others online on hairstyles are doing too good and don’t deserve the priviledge they got in their life. There is so much wrong going on in the world and they focus on dreds like their life depends on some lady’s hair. I guess it’s a need to fught but a lack of courage to fight for something actually important and good. I think people in wars, or severly ill people would love to have their problems, but they wouldn’t actually care about hair because they know how lucky they would be to enjoy their life in priviledge instead of fear and pain.
Some people have nothing going for them, so they try to play victim as much as they can. Dreads are natural and what happens even to my dog.
@@wolfen888 exactly! I can’t stand the victim mentality.
@ agree… Imagine to cling on a hairstyle that is literally as old as fur and claim it’s your culture. It’s so humiliating to oneself… Nice dreads btw! My 48 1/2 babies are in a closet, cut them off couple of years ago. Needed a little change after having them for 9-10years but I still cherish them 😙
@@wolfen888 it is very humiliating! Like how silly! Haha. And that’s awesome! When my time comes I don’t know if I will brush them out or cut them! It won’t be any time soon though!
I am a Jamaican living in America with locs. You can do what you want to your hair but you can’t claim that there is no issue or reason to take offense. You use “Google” as a source for why it’s ok, but the history sources are here to undermine and discredit black history in every form. If you are going to be taking from our culture and experience then it is best you ACTUALLY educate yourself instead of espousing the same bs that keeps your people looking down on us.
Many white people don’t take responsibility for their actions and want to claim victim hood. My hair is frowned upon in its natural state, you choose to do something which will get you a negative reaction and complain about it when you affect an actually marginalized group of people. If you’re gonna have locs, stop crying about the fact that people are gonna judge you, because you had the bright idea of electing for that experience instead of being born black 😂
The real problem is that people really just throw "cultural appropriation" everywhere when it's not. Cultural appropriation is when somebody takes an aspect of one culture and says "I invented this", which is literally not what you are doing. Cultural aspects are meant to be shared, we can use edges and baby hairs as an example: black women and black hairstyles have popularized laying down edges and baby hairs, but hispanics and latino people have been doing it for ages as well. I have only seen one person fight over it being cultural appropriation in my life (thankfully) and everyone mocked them (both black people and hispanic/latino people told them they were dumb) You do you, it looks pretty!
@@beex6 yes! Thank you! It’s so dumb to argue over things we all share!
Black women are usually forced to adopt European beauty standards (laid edges, straight hair) but discriminated against for our natural hair and styles. The reason many of us will not appreciate our styles being taken is because white people will never understand the struggle WE ALONE will face due to our blackness.
Also cultural appropriation is not claiming you invented something, it’s taking it for yourself, and reaping the benefits of being the party in control, while the originators are looked down upon for the same thing they created.
@@paranoidwaffles880 I agree to an extent! Definitely to reap off of the benefit of something there must be a denial of the original culture or place where it is from, just as you say. It's not necessarily "I invented it" which was a very loose example from my part. For example, I would agree that Kim Kardashian, as a public figure, wearing box braids and calling them other thing is cultural appropriation, especially due to the reach and influence she has on many people; however, for this young woman, she seems to know where the hairstyle comes from and respects it, which I think is what most people want: real recognition. Like, yes you can wear this, but please acknowledge and accept where it comes from. I, personally, think it is very important and what differentiates cultural appropriation from cultural appreciation :)
@ it’s not just yalls style though. That’s my point. Locs have been worn by MULTIPLE cultures. You cannot claim it as yours alone. You are the creator of your life and your reality. You can be a victim or take charge of your circumstances. You decide.
You be you. If it feels right that is all that matters. God Bless you in your walk.
Thank you Sandy 🥰
You are so refreshing to watch. 😊
@@SandyNitch aw thank you! 😊
Saw the thumbnail and yelled NO! it's not inappropriate! It's really not. Dreadlocks have been found to have been used by Africans, Americans, Europeans, Asians and probably the rest of the continents too. It's not something everyone use but almost every culture is sharing different small things like hair styles, jewelry, markings, tattoos, makeup, traditions and so much more. The only ones who are offended by this are the ones who are offended by anything that they don't think fit in and by people who think the can be offended on behalf of others.. which they can't. Please don't take people too seriously. dumb, uneducated people on culture and just easily offended people have no opinion in this, even with free speech, we can free speech at them back and say we don't care, nobody does.
@@Visveaa I absolutely agree! Thank you!
When the question of cultural appropriate comws up there should be a question of what good will it do ? What good will come from forbidding white people to uave locs ? What black person thos will help and how ?
@@bestaqua23 exactly! Separation and segregation is what we don’t want!

Why do some people look for ANYTHING to get offended at?
I'm sry when these ppl use phrases like Very Harmful...either makes me think they've lived an extremely privileged life where they think someone else's hairstyle is Harmful to others...or they believe ppl of color are sooooo fragile and sensitive that Everytime a non person of color where's dreads one of off just cease to exist 😅😂...Like Harmful to whooo
Right! 😂😂 I think it’s more harmful to claim a hairstyle belongs to certain people. Segregation and separation is harmful!
@AlexasArtRoom 💯☺️
I love you Alexa and I feel you when you said you felt called to loc your hair up. I was also called, my soul said it was time. I first loc'd my hair in 2019. I also felt I needed to take them out earlier this year, and put them back in. I felt like I had accumulated too much negativity ( in my loc's) in the 5 years I had them in, and it was time to start over. For me it is spiritual, not just a hair style and feel to each their own choice. I also understand some other views deeply. Your boss was cool, and as long as your hair was presentable and professional, she did not have a problem. She is rare and some do get offended when they are looked down on for following their own culture or traditions because of their skin color. It happens a lot. and it is not right. You, my friend, are beautiful inside and out, and I love your loc's!💜💛🧡💙
@@Better-na-better thank you Ms. Debbie! It is a calling for sure and definitely a spiritual journey. My manager is an awesome lady. She is actually from Jamaica and had locs herself. 😊 And I sympathize with people who are looked down on for following their cultures. 💜 thank you for your comment and support 💜✨
I’ve never had locs (but proudly wear my natural curls) and also believe that hair holds memories/feelings. I first made a dramatic chop after a devastating breakup and have done it a couple times since to mark life changes. That hair definitely served a better purpose going to Children with Hair Loss than it did holding onto resentment atop my head.
I think my comment got deleted. I was gonna say that while dreads have been worn by many different cultures in the past, in my understanding, it's got more to do with our more recent history. In the modern western world, black people wore dreads as a symbol of black resistance. As a response, the white majority tried to forbid black people to wear dreads (i.e. the 11th Circuit’s ban on dreadlocks). That's oppression. So when white hippies started to wear dreads as a hairstyle, they did so ignorant of the recent history of oppression connected to that. So white people started wearing a hairstyle that other white people tried to ban for black folks. In that very context, I completely see and understand when someone says wearing dreads as a white person is cultural appropriation. I personally can't say whether it is or isn't, especially not as a white person, but I can understand when someone makes that argument. It's got nothing to do with one culture owning a certain hairstyle, it's got to do with recent history of oppression and how that isn't being seen.
I definitely see your point of view and I appreciate your comment!
People are batshit crazy, cultural appropriation lolllllll
Theres no such thing. Its YOUR hair ffs
There is such a thing. I can't say whether individuals wearing dreadlocks is cultural appropriation or not, but there are other instances where we can clearly observe it: When Primark steals a Native American jewellery design, mass-produces it and sells it for profit without any context, that's a clear example of cultural appropriation.
So crazy that this even has to be made is very sad! It’s appreciation, if anything. Nobody owns a culture, and it is dumb to suggest so. It sounds like ‘this race does their thing’ and ‘that race does their thing and there is no mixing’….now what does that sound likeeee?? Real racism!
@sabrieljimison exactly!!!
i think loc are like can feel insenitive because the privilage aspect but i also think that its one fo those time where you cant blame someone for how the system works either for against them like this one person didnt create white sumpremacy or those awful private schools that cut black kids locs,.as a balck person with locs it was a coming home and special experiences for me and my hair and stuff but i also think its the strongest way to style curly hair of any type of person for health and ease . thanks for coming to my ted talk
Trolls gonna troll , keep doing you ❤
You got dreadlocks when cultural appropriation was being spoken about more widely? And now you are arguing against it?? 😅 Bro.
huh?
Cultural appropriation was more widely spoken about during the year you decided to get “dreadlocks” as a white woman. It’s very clear that you were not in spaces that included black people if you were not aware of this fact.
