People make it sound much worse being without a new government. As long there isn't a new government the old 1 stays in place. If a new law is needed you just need a majority of the new elected parlement. It isn't ideal but it works...the country still pays its bills. In such a moment you're a true parlement democracy.

I was sitting just behind Ken Wreidt in the Senate chamber when he moved the first of a number of crunch motions designed to pass the Budget. Amusingly this motion needed to be moved by a Minister under standing orders and Wreidt had been sacked but didn’t know it. From the look on his face I can assure all Whitlam had not told Wreidt about the dismissal. Equally, Reg Withers was grinning and clearly aware I went back to my office then walked through Kings Hall to the front entrance. As I reached the door Whitlam and his extensive entourage stormed past me onto the steps. Historically Kerr’s dismissal had ample precedents historically (Jack Lang/Governor Game as an example) and the result was a democratic election

One of the greatest days in Australian history. There should be a Public Holiday named in Honour of Sir John Kerr. Tenth of March each year would be ideal, as it is already a redundant Public Holiday (Labour Day) which means absolutely nothing to anybody. It would also serve as a reminder of the perils of electing comically incompetent Labor Misgovernments - Goof Witless, Dishonest Bob the "Poor Children's Friend", Chopsticks Keating, Krudd, Gillard, Krudd, AnAl Alwaysleazy.

Malcolm Fraser continued to evolve, and to write DANGEROUS ALLIES. Australians need to dispense with the txrrorist states of UK/CA/IL/US, and work with China, Indonesia, Iran, Russia and many others of the Multi-Polar Harmonic Order, rather than the AUTOCRATIC TOTALITARIANISM of London and Wall Street.

Now for the true story. Whitlam discovered he had been conned by the Fabian Socialists and the US, and that seven prominent Aussies were CIA agents. He was preparing to read the list in Parliament when the CIA/MI6 intervened, sacked the Whitlam Government, and has run Australia ever since. By 1984, Australia was ruled by just three men: Rupert Murdoch, representing the Trilateral Commission and David Rockfeller, Frank Lowy, and Ross Garnaut. All three men are Zionists. The main funder of the Voice 'Yes" vote campaign was the Zionist Federation of Australia. This is who runs Australia today. They also run the US, City of London, BIS, and Israel.

interestingly enough this would never happen in any other Commonwealth Realm because Australia is the only one with an elected senate that can challenge the government if it does not have a majority of senators. The realms either have a fixed government majority in the senate e.g. Canada and Jamaica or they have no senate at all e.g. New Zealand. Australia is the only place where the governor-general can get away with such a bold move

Notice how the reason the Co-alition was so anti-Whitlam is not explained? Gough was a Soviet fellow-traveller who sold thenation out to Pakistani money-launderers in addition to the Soviets. Gough was 100% pro-Allende in Chile, because he was ANOTHER Soviet asset who wanted to give Chilean Naval bases to THEM, directly threatening Oz. Great move Malcolm!

While there is no definitive proof that the United States directly orchestrated Whitlam’s dismissal, declassified documents and circumstantial evidence suggest that the CIA and the broader U.S. government had an interest in his removal. Here’s what is known: Why the U.S. Might Have Opposed Whitlam 1. Anti-American Policies: • Whitlam was critical of the U.S. military presence in Australia, particularly the Pine Gap intelligence facility, a critical joint U.S.-Australian operation for surveillance and communication during the Cold War. • He questioned Australia’s subservience to U.S. foreign policy, including its involvement in Vietnam. 2. Leaked CIA Connections: • Whitlam publicly revealed sensitive information about the CIA’s operations in Australia, including the role of former Australian intelligence officers as CIA assets. • The U.S. government feared Whitlam could jeopardize intelligence-sharing arrangements or even expel the U.S. from Pine Gap. 3. Cold War Concerns: • Whitlam’s government had a more independent and left-leaning foreign policy, recognizing China and supporting anti-colonial movements in the Pacific, which alarmed the U.S. during the Cold War. Evidence of U.S. Involvement 1. CIA Involvement Claims: • Declassified documents and testimonies suggest the CIA viewed Whitlam as a threat to U.S. interests. • Former CIA officer Victor Marchetti claimed that the CIA had encouraged opposition to Whitlam. 2. Role of Governor-General John Kerr: • Governor-General Sir John Kerr dismissed Whitlam using his constitutional powers, a highly controversial act. Kerr had close ties to both the CIA and U.S. officials. • Kerr consulted extensively with Sir Anthony Mason and others, but some allege he was also in touch with U.S. intelligence about Whitlam’s policies. 3. NSA Documents: • In 2020, declassified U.S. National Security Agency documents revealed U.S. anxiety over Whitlam’s actions and discussions about Pine Gap, further fueling speculation about U.S. involvement. Was the U.S. Directly Behind It? There is no concrete evidence proving direct U.S. involvement in orchestrating the dismissal. However: • The U.S. likely applied indirect pressure, including diplomatic and intelligence communications, to undermine Whitlam’s government. • The dismissal itself was executed domestically by Governor-General Kerr, not by foreign actors, but U.S. interests likely played a role in controlling Aus politics.

The GG acted rightly. Whitlam could not pass the budget. He had bankrupted the country. He tried to borrow millions from a shady financier for which Whitlam's son took $1.5 million commission. Whitlam and his government were deeply unpopular, another official ground for dismissal, as the subsequent election showed.

@edthebumblingfool nothing to do with resisting Pine Gap? Some interesting info has come to hand recently that the CIA did have a role. I'll take it on face value that Whitlam didn't have the numbers, but if the American s themselves are now admitting they were involved, it beggars the question of why didn't Whitlam have the numbers? Could there be a nefarious reason like the US wanted a government friendly to their own in power like we have seen the CIA play out in many other examples. You can't deny the role that the CIA has played in foreign government coups right?
