Victum guitars builds a fine tuned thrash shred slayer. It has a strong volute and doesn't limit neck construction on wood selection. Great guitars. The shapes and finishes are great as well.

Awesome work! How did you determine the downward angle of the headstock? Was this mostly based on the wood dpeth, or do you have some minimum angle you always try to hit? And the volute, any specific thinking about it's size, carving it, etc?

What dimensions do you normally aim for in order to make 2 necks from one laminate block?
Depending on the guitar, the biggest was I think 52 inch long 2.75x2.75 roughly
@@victumguitars5821 ah interesting, thank your for responding! I was curious to do something like that to avoid wasting so much wood, but I cant decide on the best way to lay it out. It sounds like you making it long enough so that the headstock portion overlaps which probably makes the most sense. That’d be cool to see if you ever decide to include that in another video! Watching this one was great as well!
Why not to fill the entire fretboard with epoxy an then as it cures cut the fret slots ? Just not to mess up with fret slot masking etc
Sorry I am crazy late. Just watched all 3 vids, great work! But how about the lava actually glowing? You used those special powders... did that not work? Did I miss something? It's beautiful regardless, just curious.
Love this, how thick are the neck laminates?
Usually I try to make them 3 inches tall by 2.5 wide, that way I can accommodate 2 necks out of one blank with minimal waste. They are pretty long though.

Very good job.....i do build my guitars myself and a lot is very close to how you do, but i cannot make all the cnc i would like to do in the fretboard.
Don't worry! You'll get there! I recommend learning some sort of cad software really well.

The líquid you put after the black staining it's alcohol? I think It's for cleaning the black residue out of the lava finish, right?
100% correct! It also helps the dye to look uniform across the whole top. Otherwise, there might be streaks visible from staining.

turned out pretty cool! the only thing i‘m asking, why did u do clearcoat on the fretboard, didn‘t this get scratches in short time? or did i miss something?
Thank you! I clear coated the fretboard to match the look and to protect the maple since it is not as hard as, for example, ebony. It should not get any scratches from strings since I used super jumbo frets.

Hello Villiam, thank you for making this video.How did you make the neck angle off the body or is it straight? How many degrees was the headstock? Great build!
Thank you! Hipshot bridge doesn't require any neck angle, so yes, it is straight. Headstock is at 11 degrees.

Excellent idea on using a bushing/collar on the drill bit. Those diagonal hole drillings always make me a bit nervous.
