You're clearly a qualified trainer however I would seriously put this into practice the conducted search you are doing is incorrect as a qualified trainer you should know never to search the front legs and go down to the floor also Arms should be extended out with Palms always facing towards the ceiling leg searches should always be conducted from behind never from the front as you know if you do this search from the front you are likely to get a knee in your face while his arms are extended and his palms are face to the ceiling you now have more time to react if he decides to punch you while you're searching the arms you are using the palm of your hands big mistake as a trainer you should know the top of your hands top of your hands is correct and the palm of your hands is incorrect also for religious people you ask them to run their finger around the headwear

i recently completed a SIA course and this video being 13 years old is very similar to todays security courses.

I only do searches with another colleague to watch my back to keep an eye on the customer just incase plus do it in front of cctv camera to protect yourself from any allegations..always I have some sort of witness and also safety..as you never know if a customer is going to kick off...

You forgot to search his/her shoes, so have them remove their shoes, make sure there isn't anything inside the shoe and then once you're satisfied, you can have them back on.

This isn't a very good procedure.

He is searching inside the fighting zone, at anytime the searcher could have been attacked and he wouldn't see it coming. Always search in the safe zone behind the person being searched to one side so there's little chance of being struck and you have more of a reaction time to deal with attacks. I have searched thousands of people in my 22 years working security and have been attacked successfully a few times when searching from the front, every attack made when I have searched from the safe zone behind the arm has failed. Crucifix searches are also dangerous because both arms are in position to deliver a nice hook to head. I like to tuck their arm under mine so im in position for a take down if an attack happens.

so basicaly if u want to carry stuff and not get caught say your jewish or Indian and hide the stuff under the cover of a fake lie but notice if you say no to a serch sorry not aloud inn ok im religious that changes the whole way of political correctness

A knife or drugs can easily be hidden in shoes or underwear or if the person pretend to be religious under their hat. Even the police are not able to conduct a proper search. Been searched a few times in my life, once I had a bag of weed on me. At the end of the day this type of search is only done to make people feel safe and can never stop a person who is determined to bring knifes or guns into a club. Since we don't have the right to carry guns in this country if I suspected someone had such a weapon I wouldn't do anything to let them know that I suspect meaning that person would get in until the police arrive to deal with the person. That's the reality of the situation. No way would I tell someone with a knife that they can't come in or that I am aware they have a knife on them. I have no way of dealing with such a person. Not unless I am issued with a stun gun (illegal) or a baton (illegal). I have known security guards to carry the extendable baton (ASP) but if they ever use it they are going to prison for carrying an offensive weapon.

I will say this about his search methods, you never slide your hands across their body. It there is a needle, or knife, you will get stuck, or cut by sliding your hands. To conduct a proper search, first thing to take into account, is a search is not called a slide search, it's called a pat search. What does that mean, well simply put, you pat the areas to be searched. That way if there is a sharp object, you will be less likely to gut stuck, poked, or cut. So never slide your hands during the search, but pat search and it is always a good idea to have some sort of glove that is resistant to needles, knives or blades.
