How effective the rice is as a dehumidifier depends on how much water the rice itself has absorbed. As soon as the package is opened, the rice starts absorbing moisture from air until and so becomes less effective.

Do not curl your retention lock like this. Literally defeats the entire purpose of the lock, which is supposed to form fit to your concha to create stability. Pause at the end and you can see this lock being pre-bent is doing nothing
My hearing aids keep popping out of my ear canal. They don't have a retention wire on them. They are signia brand. Do you know if there's any way I can bend the actual wire to fit better into my ear or should I wait until May so that the professional can do it? Or do you know if this brand has a retention wire and does that make the hearing aids stay inside your ear canal better? I hope you see this! Thanks!
Do not bend the receiver wire. Additional stress on that wire can damage it over time. Your hearing care specialist should easily be able to put a retention lock on it. What is the reason for waiting until May?
@@brandonr43 for some reason they don't have an appointment for me until May. It's kind of silly I think. He couldn't possibly be that busy but maybe so.

@@freeone77 give them a call. Sometimes they do scheduled appointments for regular cleanings but adding a retention lock would take just a few minutes. I’m sure they would be happy to work you in

What can you do when the stick pushes the wax trap further into the customized earpiece?
It's BS that you can't naked them to fit it the Red one properly...I lose 2 or 3 before getting one to stay...and do they really believe their target audience have agile fingers?
Thanks for posting this. I didn't realize that I can change the filter trap inside as well. I was only changing the outside one in the ear piece and not the microphone one.
Do the hearing aids need to be switched off during the procedure?

For hearing aids made after 10/2018, what style of wax trap?
I use same vex guard 2 to 3 times after cleaning it. It works. Please try it will save your money. They makes us fool to change it it every time.

My receiver has 1 wax trap, one prowax as shown and one minifit deeper inside the molded receiver. this needs one more tool.
the only way to change the deeper minifit wax trap is to remove the receiver from the earmold and then change it.

Very helpful having both in one video, I haven't seen this before. It would be nice if Oticon/bernafon/Philips used one filter for both domes & custom tips!
