96 ss fuel line conversion part 3 the end
That's probably my misfire cause I can slide one pretty far and with engine speed it's most likely sliding off the valve when it's time to push I have no lifter tick so that's good
Hopefully but I doubt it. If ur misfire is 3 or 5 most likely it's the cam n lifter
Nice
Hope You Reply, that Motor Mount that rubs against the motor mount I'm more than sure that's what my power steering is leaking from😢 Looks Like a Pain in the Butt..
Sorry I'm so late. But yes that's why it leaks. It's not that bad but it definitely goes around the engine and to the back of it ..
One more question and thanks for replying I really appreciate it , what I meant to say correctly is I See power steering Leaking from behind That motor mount Its Leaking from behind that area , so I'm guessing its Rubbing the aluminum pipe just enough to make a little Slice in It , can I just remove the black motor mount metal Bracket to Make Sure the leak is coming from there and if I just remove that bracket do I have to jack up the motor slightly ? I really do appreciate your feedback I cannot get a mobile mechanic to come out so I'm just going to tackle it myself , and if you just a small slice I was going to Soder it and JW weld it and wrap it With JW Weld tape that Dries Like Metal , I just needed to last for a few weeks then trading the van in.
@charlesgrant7690 Also I think it's the skinnier aluminum line underneath that one that you're pointing at ,.is that Also a Power Steering Line ? I'm not looking forward to changing out that line because number one they're Veey hard to find and number two it's a big job, I just want to remove that bracket and Patch It Up..
@charlesgrant7690 Sorry I Think I'm Messaging you Correct?
P
thank-you for sharing ;)
DOES the whole front end have to come off to get to that tube?
Yeah honestly fuck this vehicle company, last ram ill own unless they can prove to me otherwise.
Insane, these vans are pieces of shit.
I have same issue on my promaster 3500 my question is where’s your shop so i can meet you to fix issues thank you
srry bro. I'm in Columbia md. but I work for the postal service mvs department
Thank you i was confused af
I just installed them yesterday on both heads and now my valve covers won’t bolt up. They won’t fit over top of them.
lol. I'm sorry I forgot to mention your gonna have trim down the valley of the covers just a lil bit of the webbing
Thanks, I found out. Roger emailed me from place I bought them. Major relief, they fit perfect now. ❤
Cheif how are you need your experience, would like to ask for your help
I’m considering getting these since doing the cam swap I crushed one of the keepers sleeve thingys so bad I think it was dumping all my oil pressure out of the gap. It had to be one of the feed holes too so at hot idle I was hitting 10psi after a fresh cam and lifters. I searched everything I could think of and ended up calling MMX who I got the bulk of parts from. They said either I spun a cam bearing on install so the holes were misaligned or something was wrong with the rocker rails. I’m positive I was super careful on installing the cam so I knew the bearing was fine. I’m hoping by eliminating the keepers I can eliminate the possibility that. I was going to replace it with a new one but see how loose the rockers are at 0 spring pressure. I’m not buying adjustable pushrods to tighten lash so I figured this would be the next best thing. Thx for the video. I’ll probably do one when I get mine. Did you go through Mancini directly? Thx again.
thank you for watching. I'm not sure but I can look. but there's a few ppl that seems them. but I never had oil psi lost. but if any questions just hit me up
These would help a great deal, I've noticed there is a design floor towards the rear of the heads everything is too sloppy... that would not help when the push rods are at idle and bouncing left and right putting different points of pressure on the lifters .. I know the lifters are in nice and snug but still would not be good for them
definitely keeps them in a tighter position haven had any issues with them so far
Nice that is actually a great idea I also was wondering why there was so much play on those engines
I know, right? it's crazy but they don't move much or at least I think
Was it ticking/tapping before u installed these?
yes I cought the famous tick so at that point I said let's swap it for the 6.4 and cam it aswell so I did all upgrades while I was swapping it out
I did catch it in time but I just completely swapped it and went 6.4 with a jay greene stage 2 and holley tunnel highrise but I've broken 2 valve springs 2 different times dont kno why but now I'm thinking on putting my stock 6.4 cam back in. but I went from 5.7. to the upgrade. but it was simple to do
Thanks
You don't have to take the engine mounts off at all u just need to lose the two bolts that are horizontal just loses them up and water pump comes off how I know I just now replaced mine 2017 dodge ram pro master
ok good to kno ill have to try it that way
@@charlesgrant7690 just did it without removing the mount and can confirm that it works. Just loosen the two horizontal mount bolts at the top and use a pry bar to move the mount out about a quarter inch or less and you can remove the water pump.
Thank you for this video going to change next week wish me luck
Best of luck!
Promaster also has a pivot point wear the cables attach. underneath the van in the middle back. It seized there. I don’t know if they have updated on newer models but it causes seizing and squeaking.
Need help adjusting the cable, one side is super tight and the new one on the other side is loose.
You have no idea how nice it is to actually have a video like this made by a competent person. Thank you lol
your welcome i figured it wasnt a lot of info on these
You’re doing starters at 30k? I work on amazon vans , havnt had one need one yet but they’re all getting up to 30k now and I’m on my way to diagnose now , sounds like it’s gonna be a starter
How difficult is it to replace the power steering pump? Any shortcuts or advice? THANK YOU!
Any advice on changing out a power steering pump? You made it clear in this video that it`s not something you wanna do! Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks for all your Promaster videos!!
srry I don't be on here much. but no no advice on pwr steering pump
What was the spindle nut torque spec?
Where are you located I need you now for the same exact thing.
lol. im in Maryland
I gotta change the power steering line and the mount. My hose had a whole in it.
Smart move with that support tool
thanks lol
Zero help
This van is the biggest piece of shit I've ever owned
yes it is from day 1 problem after problem ive done 4 oil coolers an 3 oip pumps
Where you out of btw , The videos are great !
hey srry for the late reply i never got notified. plus i was sick a lil. but im in Maryland and thank you .. btw on the cable you gotta use better judgment you normally dont have to cable swap. btw i had a video on front hubs but deleted it by mistake
Thank you! I'm about to do that because it broke
Good job brother!
thankx
Don't let them catch you lacking, try to keep the logos blurred or out of view. Warning from another vmf tech, you know how lvl 17 are with phone usages at work, if they see the videos.
1) Is it necessary to replace the cable when you are replacing the pads? I`m going to tackle this in a few days. 2) If my cable is not moving freely in the housing, could`nt I spray some lube into the housing and move the cable back and forth? 3) In regards to the pad adjuster, could I loosen it in order to allow the (sticky) pad from contacting the surface causing it to ( stick ) ? Thanks!!!!!
hello. what normally do at the adjuster lever take it apart the hone out the center bolt hole its just a smoth bore then lube it with white lithium. it works better then antiseez. and there is a star wheel @the shoe but cant get to it unless you take rotor off or u mite be able to reach it thru a lug hole
also not necessary to replace cables. i did it because ive done everything thing else and shoes was locking up in reverse.
@@charlesgrant7690 Thanks! I will need a new cable due to it being rusted and fraying and not being able to pass thru the cable housing. Thanks for your responses!!
Great stuff ! This your shop? Could use some future work done.
Is this for the automated manual transmission with the EcoDiesel? My e-brake system is been acting up for a while getting stuck and now the ebrake cable totally broke from the handle. I'd like to replace the whole system do you have any links for parts etc?
How much you recommend for labor?
if you doing them on your back 200. if on a lift id do for 150
plus parts
Definitely would charge more Than That tf
Saved me some money with this very clear and straight forward video, greatly appreciated. This also worked for a 2014 model for those wondering.
im not sure but if its the same motor it should
I'm glad that the first video from my search result for "replacing starter for Promaster" was from a VMF mechanic. My promaster refused to start while I was delivering my route yesterday and someone said the starter went bad. From this video I see it's something that VMF can handle and my van will be back soon. Thank you Charles Grant and to all of the VMF mechanics that keep the Postal Fleet up and running!
you welcome i appreciate it
Hello thanks for the video.. was that on a 2.4?
yes
How long it took you to replace it? R/R
maybe a hr or less
How long did this take you? Great video helped me a lot thank you.
probably an half hour. i charge 1hr. for my side jobs
Hey Charles on the promaster does the ac system have to be evacuated to replace the radiator??
srry it took so long .. but no it dont but its a whole lot easier trust me
@@charlesgrant7690 I did it without evacuation
thanks a lot for this video, got it replaced because of you!
no problem
thanks no problem
Oof exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated from one Vmf to another
Niceee, what vmf are you at ??
Columbia md
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much for a great explanation with socket sizes and step by step!
lol no problem glad it helped
no problem
Thanks for the video. Was doing one and was hoping I didn’t have to pull the manifold off so I went to check RUclips
2017 need new stater, that soon.
yea they wearing out fast along with the fan motor buring out
@@charlesgrant7690 Yes, we just found out about the dealer recalls for that cooling fan, trans. Shift solenoids and shift cable. Thanks again
