I raced my final race for this season. Tampere Juoksee, saturday 5th of October. Really felt like I don't want to go there but also found no real reason not to go. The way these few months have gone, I really don't feel like there's any point in continuing this season. But there's also no reason to quit without at least trying my darndest. Season 2024 goals! Glad you did the run even though you weren't feeling it. I recently have been experiencing foot pain too. Had to have a physio appt and take around two weeks off to get back to normal. If you're not feeling like going for the 5k pb next year then don't. Not worth it if you're not going to enjoy the journey.
@@swipe87 exactly so. Injuries aside, no point in not going for it. But going for a PB is also a mental thing, so I figured I'd go for something else. Also, I've been focusing on 'just running' for a few years now so both my body and mind feel like the need a change.
Bummed i missed the stream. That sounds like a fun 5k to do. If i saw stairs on the route id also immediately throw out any hopes of a PB haha.
Don't worry about it. I'm usually extremely awkward in these livestreams anyway. And I don't have a set schedule, apart from doing on every sunday. I like the idea, but it might've been more enjoyable had it been not in my home city. A beautiful and interesting route for sure, but I was focused more on getting a benchmark so had a difficult time enjoying it :D
Running or working out too early isn't great for me personally. By the afternoon, I feel like I haven't done anything because alot of time has passed since the workout. It's weird. I agree with what you said about being too busy as well. If you don't have some time to decompress after the workout, you kind of don't get to enjoy the benefits.

How old is the kid? I went camping with my family for the first time ever and we all really enjoyed it. Especially the kids, the enjoyed the tent and hearing coyotes howl all night. 😂 good job on keeping active and not letting the stress drag you down. 👊🏽
He just turned 7. We spent one night out in the woods last summer and he really enjoyed it as well. Looking forward to this summer and hopefully we'll get the wife to join us.

Thanks for sharing! I like it that Finland is so wise many times. In Sweden we just started to prepare ourselves for potential war or hybrid war stuff that can happen, and they say Finland already got most of these things going. You are already prepared, probably because you live closer to "that" neighbour. Reservists getting in shape is a great idea, it has not been mentioned at all over here. But I think it is a good idea in general to be as fit as one can in case something will happen. Im on the journey to lose weight and get more fit as well, mostly for health and weightloss, but it feels like being in better shape in general is good in case something should happen.
To be fair, over the past decade or so, we've had talk of budget cuts and perhaps stopping the whole conscript army. Escpecially during the time Sweden changed their system. But yes, it does base on our history and therefore people have been saying this is outdated. To be fair, as with any/all countries, we do have our fair share of problems that could've been solved with the money spent on the defence forces, so there were valid points to those arguments. But now those arguments are few and far between.

U should hit the gym along together with the cardio and the wrestling mate. it would speed up the process a lot.
That would be ideal, but unfortunately I don't have the time for that. Also my main goal is to get faster at 5k and 10k, so some of my running workouts (eg. Repeats and intervals) can be quite hard, so I wouldn't even have the energy for a quality lift 😂

There's a saying in Finnish which roughly translates: if ifs didn't exist, even cows could fly. 😁 I could see myself being a 'chicken, broccoli and rice' -type of eater, but I don't want that for my family. And I tried too many times on having a different diet from the rest of the family, so let's go with moderation!

Thank you so much for your comment. I need to really dive into the details of running a RUclips channel with stuff like thumbnails, titles, SEO and all that. When I started, I wanted to first just put out content to build the habit. Now, after a year my goal is to be more professional.

It actually depends heavily on other factors as well. On a calm sunny day, a -15 is completely different than a dark windy one... But -10 is around my limit for a comfortable run.
