How to Remove earpads from Edifier W820NB Headphone
Просмотров 27 тыс.Год назад
Hey man, I really appreciate what you do, you definitely deserve more recognition for your handiness. Basically my problem is, I dropped my w820nbs and the right swivel on my headphones is rigid and doesn’t turn smoothly, like the left. Is there anyway I can fix this by taking apart the headphones?
@@uncoolz5090 yes you can, the mechanism of the swivel is simple. After you disassemble it. You should check the joints where the swivel occurs. If the area is not smooth u can use a heat gun to make the area smooth ( warning, needs controlled heating or you will melt the plastic.) or you can use a fine sanding paper to decrease the friction of the joints removing the rigidity.
@@Chromedpotatothanks so much
@@uncoolz5090 welcome 😁
this video also works for edifier WH950NB type? please inform. thankyou
How to remove earpad edifier wh700nb please
It also works for the wh950nb, the only problem is that even if you buy a replacement like I did, the fabric in the middle is glued to the headset.
Underrated channel, thanks for this tutorial is very helpful.
@@stilgharc glad this helped you out
Do these work the same way with the PLUS models?
@@robinjohnaranguiz7907 yes
thank you so much i saw a vid to replace the earpads but not the headpads hehe this is so helpful
@@sububub3465 glad to help you. I have made a video that also includes how to access the head pads to replace it.
THANK YOU SO MANY!!! this heLps out so much 🫡🫡🔥🔥
@@ATEVENUS happy to help you 👍
Can you make a tutorial to change the battery on edifier w820nb?
Just wanted to say thanks for making these. I'd recently grabbed a pair but wasn't sure on their repairability, but seeing your tutorials reassures me greatly, especially with how little info there is on these!
@@maddyk3071 glad this helped you out :)
Does it mean then we must buy the exact same ear pad for this model? Thanks.😊
@@kakiayam60 yes, its mainly because of the lock and key mechanism it has to attach to the headphones
You can also try other earpads without the attachment. Use the old earpad attachment and combine it with the new earpads. It will need some work but at least you get your preferred earpads than the stock one
Can you do wh700nb?
@@joshako i dont have the device yet. When i do, I will make one
Thankyou great video
Thankyou glad it helped you
thank you!! It's very helpful
Glad it helped you out
can i buy different ones for edifier?
Hello, the Edifier ear pads have its own anchor mechanism. If you buy a different one and place the anchor mechanism in your new ear pads it should work.
i just remove 4 screws holding the headband then i cut the old one off to remove it out of the wire cuz i dont need it anymore then swap it with a new one, very easy
hi! is this for the replacement of the headband cushion?
thank you!
Thanks bro. Finally can change my earpads 🤙.
Glad to hear this helped you out 👍
how did u put it back on tho
@@sashimi6576 it has a guided lock and key attachment
I've just replaced the batteries of my trimmer. This is one of the worst trimmers I've ever had. It was very poor from new. I hope it works better with 1000mah batteries.
Great Job 👍 hope it does.
I just want to remove the cushion and is there anyway I don't need to disassemble so many parts of the headphone? Some others cut the foam and replace applied to other brands. Not sure if I could do it with edifier. Thanks bro btw
The cushion is the easy one. On the first part of the video. Remove 4 screws on both sides near the cushion area. And the cushion is already exposed. Its taped inside with a double sided tape. You can remove it with force. Just be careful with the wires. Hope this helps.
@@Chromedpotato Thanks bro! I’m still afraid I would tear the wires apart. Next time if you replace the cushion please don’t forget to make a video about it.
@@dooonaaacito will do 👍
Hey bro, thanks for the wonderful tutorial. I would like to replace the headband cushion, how could I do it?

Is the headband of the Edifier W820 NB from plastic or metal? And, how much is the headband?
The headband is plastic. I'm not sure of the price for each country though. I found replacement headbands from China.
Thank you!
Glad it helped you out 👍
thank goodness for this video! I love my 820nb plus but the earpads have gotten to worn out over the past year!!

i was able to replace my earpads... and its the whole assembly which is replaced (foam & frame)..
Thats great you were able to do the replacement. Good job
Hi, sound isn't working from one headphone. It goes on and off, any way to fix that?
I guess it would be a wire connection issue. In long term usage the copper wires inside may snap. This is prevalent in headphones that can be flipped from one side to another. In order to find the wire problem. You need an electrical meter/ tester. Open up your headphone. Use the continuity setting and place the red and black testing probles on the wires on each end, of the headphone side that has the problem. ( If you dont know how. Just search how to use continuity for an electrical tester. There are a lot of helpful videos.) Once you are able to locate the damaged wire. You need to buy the same type of wire and solder it like the damaged wire( how to solder is also on RUclips). And now its fixed. Or if you don't have time or skills. Just use the warranty or go to your local electrical repair shop. A trusted one. Some shops don't have quality repairs and have sloppy soldering skills.
massive help! Thank you! 🔥

Thank you so much bro!!! Just got new earpad. Thank you do much!!! ❤❤❤❤ Much love from Malaysia!
Glad to Help you out 👍
I use a flat screwdriver from outside, from tha gap.
Nice, be careful though, hardness levels are different with metal and plastic
thank you! i bought its white version and it got a little dirty recently, will be cleaning it soon!
Glad to help you out, Happy New Year!!
Thank you!
Glad to help you out 🙂
Is this applicable to the w820nb plus?
Im not sure if it is i have not bought that one yet, if you can try the same process and it succeeds well for you.
Hi! I'm not a viewer of yours however I think they (the person that requested the video) may have meant just the replacement of the headband cushion because there are no (or almost no) tutorials on that. Still a usefull video though!
Good day, actually it has a part in this video of how to access it. Also i did say what I needed to clarify in the video. Its a combination
Thank youu
Glad to help you
Thanks

how about the band foam? can it be removed?
Yes, I have a video for that. It includes how to open up the Edifier W820nb. The band foam has an adhesive like a double sided tape on it.
Valeu men. Ajudou muito

Thank you. I'm struggling to remove the earpad.

Super usefull info, Man. Thanks Soooo Mucch....
Please make a video about replacing the headband
Can you use W820NB Earpads with the W820NB Plus?
Atm i have no info of W820nb plus earpad dimensions. In their website there is a change in dimensions (not indicating the earpads)for W820nb plus. So maybe the earpads are different
thank you so much !!! its very helpful❤❤❤
Glad this helped you out 😄
it worked, thanks!
which foam should i buy to replace it ? what are the dimensions ? 120x100mm or 90x70mm ?
Good day Rezie, the dimensions for Height should not be less than 90 and the Width not less than 80. As long as the clips that are glued to the earpad are W820NB compatible.
Hi, great tutorial. Allow me to ask... Do you hear static/white noise coming from the right earcup when NC/Ambient is on? Thank you so much.
Good day Ricardo, you should not hear any static when ANC / Ambient is on. If you do it is faulty and need to be replaced using your warranty. If you have used those 2 features in a quiet room and still have the static Im sure its faulty. I had that issue with my soundcore earbuds. Used my warranty to get a new one.
@@Chromedpotato thank you so much for the info. I went to the store yesterday and they told it was normal. I didn’t think it was so I got refunded. Damn shame since I loved the sound on those.
@@ricardoqueiroz4167 yes I understand what you mean. Its good also because of the game mode. You can buy the same item again in a different store or soundcore headphones sounds good also. Especially for working out.
