    According to Elon Musk, we now know everywhere you go, everything you say and all the time in a Tesla, driving, charging etc., is recorded and cataloged. They have video of everyone at the charging stations, the conversations in the vehicles and all the telemetry of the vehicle and they can find you and your vehicle almost immediately. If that is how you want to live, have at it.

    My 2024 MYLR had two extremely low frequency noises. First a"buffeting" sound. An air pressure fluctuation like when a rear window is opened. The second "booming" sound was a kind of reverberation bass noise that to me amplified every imperfection of the road. I'm guessing this is different than the sounds that bothered you. It seems each car an individual experience these different. I added vinyl tubing and the 3d printed ridged stops.

    All very good points. In my 2021 Freemont built Model Y Performance, I also added the rear cargo shelf to attenuate low to mid frequency noise with some success. I also added a gasket kit for the doors, not so much for noise reduction but rather to help reduce dust and dirt accumulation on the door sills. The kit reduced the dirt accumulation by about 80 % making it well worth the effort.

    The noise in my 2021 model 3 AWD is extremely annoying, and it shocks me Tesla only started fixing this for the 2024 models. I cant imagine how noisy a 2019 model 3 would be as I know they started improving cabin noise in 2020 and further improved for the 2021/2/3 models. I'm going to look in to fitting acoustic tiles in the car and will try your trick - but different cars, so dont imagine much difference in my one with the trick. I can say though the Model Y - even a 2024 model is noisier than my 2021 Model 3. I recently tested a 2024 model Y and immediately was disappointed with the cabin noise. I was thinking about getting one, but the noise killed that idea instantly. The 2024 model 3 is much less noise - more like a decent BMW/Mercedes now in terms of cabin noise. The only two things i hate about tesla model 3's and Y's is the cabin noise and the very poor turning curve. Can be very hard to park these cars in a tight space where you need to navigate tight spaces and need a good turning curve.

    • @wtma6529
      @wtma6529 Месяц назад

      I watched a video where a guy installed acoustic tiles into his model y, went through a very detailed job, but in the end, he reported it wasn't worth the effort. For me, the trunk issue really did the trick, but also, do not forget the trunk board as it further reduces the noise. I am honestly no longer annoyed with the noise. My 20in tired are a bit stiff, but i am ok with it bec they look amazing.

      I added about 50 pounds of sound dampening material to the entire floor, rear fenders, rear lower trunk, frunk tub and front fenders of the 2023 Model Y as it seemed noisier than the 2021 Model 3 when driven back to back. I spent about 18 hours over several days, working just a couple of hours or so per day, removing carpet, seats, and rear panels. I watched a video first and the person suggested paying attention to the left rear fender/wheel well in the trunk area. Two layers of the heavy material were added there. It was worth the effort to me. The Model Y is now definitely quieter than the Model 3, which has had no modifications or added sound dampening added. I've used the brands Boom-mat and Siless and they work as well as the more expensive brands. These thin, heavy butyl materials are flexible and work well to absorb vibrations that cause noise. Don't bother with thin layers of foam, unless also used with a Mass Loaded Vinyl product as a third layer along with the dampening butyl layer.
