    The script discusses databases in bioinformatics, emphasizing the importance of well-organized, reliable, and user-friendly data collections. It covers topics such as DNA and RNA differences, transcription, translation, and the use of software like EMBOSS. The script also highlights the need for logical structure, specific formats, and search options in developing databases for research purposes. Key moments: 00:17 Understanding databases in Bioinformatics is crucial for data organization, analysis, and tool development. Structured data collection ensures reliability and user-friendliness for effective research outcomes. -Structured databases aid in organizing experiment data for macromolecular sequences, expression profiles, and pathways in Bioinformatics. -Developing databases requires consideration of content relevance, user perspectives, reliability, and efficient data display for effective research outcomes. -User-friendly databases should prioritize reliability, minimal redundancy, understandability, and provide references and data download options for researchers. 07:54 Developing a successful database requires attention to downloadable data, ontology, logical structure, and data format to ensure user accessibility and understanding. -Contents are crucial in databases, providing reliable experimental data for users. -Ontology in databases involves explaining terms and conditions to aid user comprehension. -Logical structure in databases focuses on the main aim of the database and how data is supplemented with other information. -Data format consistency is essential for user clarity and understanding in databases. 15:35 Developing a database involves using a relational structure with tables and attributes for efficient data retrieval. SQL is essential for executing complex queries and obtaining data from relational databases. -Importance of sequence information from databases like SwissProt and UniProt for structure and function analysis. -Utilizing databases like BRENDA and Pubmed for enzyme and literature data, respectively, to enhance research outcomes. 23:13 Developing a database requires unique and novel data, considering existing databases, end users, and the significance of the research models based on the available information. -Various categories of databases exist, including nucleic acid, protein structures, genomics, metabolic pathways, and more, each with sub-classifications for specific data retrieval. -Key protein structure databases like PDB, PBDTM, CATH, SCOP, and Astral offer structural classifications and non-redundant sets of structures for research purposes. Why we have to take overlap sequence

    • @anjali2155
      @anjali2155 2 года назад

      so we're taking overlapping sequences to form as many possible numbers of sequences using different reading frames, remember when the professor told us about 6 reading frames, first leave A and start reading the sequence from ATA then leave AT and start reading by ATA, hence 9.

      Hamming distance is calculated by total value of mismatch .for ex Dh(1-2)= A|(0.3-0.4)|+I|(0.2-0.1)|+L|(0.2-0.1)|+S|(0.0-0.1)| = 0.4, same digit aren't be counted because 0-0= 0 .
