I know this is a few years late to the show, but I found your reaction video to this very beautiful story. I'd like to say, in my opinion, the ending was *better* than if Ori had continued on as he was. From the very beginning, Ori started as a child of the spirit tree, a leaf or seedling. Remember how Ori gains new abilities: you encounter a younger spirit tree, absorbing the light of that tree into yourself, each tree once being the same as Ori, his kin. The hints were there from the start that Ori's fate was always to become a spirit tree, as that is what he was born from, and what all of his kind eventually became. It is bittersweet, because we grew attached to the form we interacted through for two whole stories, and he was denied the closure with his loved ones in that form (i.e.- didn't get to "say goodbye"), but Ori was always destined for more. Ori knew this within himself, he didn't shy away from embracing the light, he knew what he was about. Through Ori's sacrifice, the forest is restored very beautifully. And it's not like Ori really died, he only gave up being as he was - he grew by being joined with Seir, and still got to live a long, meaningful life, continuing to accomplish great things through his shared existence, just differently. I know, it's still a little sad, but in its sheer beauty, it is happy 🥲

I know this is old, but I just finished this series and had an absolute blast! I was specifically looking for someone who hadn't played any Half-Life games before, and it made this Let's Play very interesting and entertaining. Excited to watch the remainder of your Portal/HL content. Cheers!

You said everything I felt, I love this game but the ending is wonderful, but there is something missing, and that is the Ori, The protagonist, a beautiful, pretty, hopeful image, in short... The ending is good, but it doesn't bring the desired satisfaction, in Blind Forest he survives and saves the forest, and that makes the game COMPLETE, in Will of The Wisps, he saves the forest, however... Well, he doesn't literally "die", he becomes a tree, and stops being that beloved image, since then I realized how much games where the protagonist doesn't die make me feel complete. For those of you that watch Stranger Things, that shed at the end resembles the one that El was in, so it may not be uncommon for secret bunkers of evil experiments to have a suspicious shed in the middle of nowhere.

A detail I love is if you look at Ari's truck in the last scene as it pants up, you will see images of naru, gumo, and ku. Showing that for Horry as a spirit tree his family was his foundation

En el capitulo 2 en que los Vortigaunt le dan la Vort essence a Alyx para sanarla tambien fusionan la vida de Alyx con la de Gordon, y como se llama el juego? "half life" . Asi mismo Alyx en ese punto puede usar la energia de los vortigaunt sin que le afecte. Enjoy.

On a rail is the worst chapter in the series. Not because of the train controls, but because it's so tedious to babysit that stupid cart. It was awful in hl1 and it's awful here.

Hacking every single thing is probably best, but not as fun to watch. Plus the Xbox controller hacking is much slower to reveal tiles, it’s much harder. Sometimes you buy stuff, then hack, losing your discount.

Its a serious crime Valve kept us waiting this long after that sort of cliffhanger. Been waiting years to see how they can possibly start off the 3rd game.

This was an underrated game when it came out, but it did punish a bit too much with the bad ending. I tried multiple times to no death run it and it was a pain.

5:37 You should have got both Decoy and Cyclone Trap. Actually, I'd have got them both from the previous area. Cyclone Trap to protect your Little Sister while harvesting, and Decoy because you can drop it, and do ANYTHING while they're distracted. Kill, hack, steal, anything.

5:34 There's an easy way to kill the Rumbler / Grenade Daddy. Bring out the camera, start it, bring out the weapon of choice, and change to Telekinesis. Any time he throws or launches anything, toss it back at him. Even the turrets can be thrown back if it doesn't hit the ground. If it does, hack it so that it starts shooting the enemy Big Daddy. You will win the fight without taking ANY damage.

Cyclone Trap is broken when protecting your little sister. Especially when you get Cyclone Trap 2. Also, first chance you get to pick up Decoy, is the first chance you should take to get it.

Hard to believe that this is a 20 year old game - it still holds up today and most shooters with a story are basically constantly trying to recreate the miracle that this game did when it came out! Sure games like CoD brought in “cinematics” and overall feel of you being the hero of a blockbuster movie but Half life on the other hand makes you believe that it’s world is alive and even if you’re gone it will still go on… it’s like comparing the first Die Hard movie with the last one…

2:48 and this is why you get Natural Camouflage and Target Dummy. Drop the Dummy in front of the camera, and hack it instead of destroying it. When an enemy walks by, drones turn him into a sieve. When a Big Daddy walks by, hit him with Security Bullseye, and he dies. If he doesn't, Security Bullseye him again if he's close to the camera. If he has a kid, it's borderline free Adam.
