NEW Podcast Intro
Просмотров 2621 день назад
The time had come to create a new and shorter intro to my podcast. This is actually the third intro. The first was all music, "Arise and Shine" by my buddy Chris Taylor who let me use the song for free. Then the second version had movie clips and recorded audio. A couple of friends said my name and my sons said "and our dad." I will miss it but it was time. I came up with the guitar riff for th...

Ep. 62: The Dream Syndicate's Steve Wynn
Просмотров 1148 месяцев назад
The Dream Syndicate is one of the few bands that have been a part of starting a new movement in the Rock world. With equal doses of The Velvet Underground, Black Flag, Neil Young and Bob Dylan, The Dream Syndicate help create what would later be known as Alternative Rock. In this two part conversation, Steve Wynn and I track his personal musical journey, through his first band at 9 years old, a...
Ep. 60: Shannon Clark and the Sugar
Просмотров 509 месяцев назад
There are some bands that when you hear them for the first time, they just stop you in your tracks and draw you in. That's what happened the first time I heard Shannon Clark and the Sugar. I was honored to be joined by Shannon Clark, the bands vocalist and principle songwriter, for a great chat about music, struggle, and life. Shannon and I talk a bit about the band's history and how personal l...

In this second and final segment, Malcolm and I converse about the film adaptations of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit books, Malcolm shares one of his own beautiful sonnets, and much, much more. I hope those who listen will find this insightful and encouraging. If you have not listened to Part 1, yo...

Malcolm and I cover a wide range of topics with one of ...

Ep. 57: Interview with Maia Sharp- Singer, songwriter, producer
Просмотров 7410 месяцев назад
Veteran singer-songwriter Maia Sharp proves once again that she has great songcrafting and storytelling skills with her latest album, "Reckless Thoughts." Maia has written for artists like Trisha Yearwood, Bonnie Raitt and Cher. I first became familiar with Maia's work when she teamed up with Buddy Mondlock to help write and record an album ("Everything Waits to Be Noticed") with legendary voca...

Silver Lining is my FAVORITE
I’ve been a Petra fan for 40 years and really appreciate the insight that were shared here! Thank for posting this!
Very incredible Ben!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is an awesome interview!!! Thank you!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Please more uploads👍
Find me on the believe in something more powerful than him is a wonderful thing but I don't think for women to believe in a man is very healthy lately
Does he believe in God because he's had such a good life
I've never known anyone whose life has been untouched by hardship. If by "he's had such a good life," you mean his life has been without pain and difficulty, I personally wouldn't assume that. But it's not something I asked him about.
💗🕊💗
Hello Bryan, thank you for this great interview. You mention another one with Sarah Horner here - are you going to put it out? I would love to hear it.
hi @Leutberg, I'm so glad you enjoyed this interview with Ron and Sally. My interview with Sara Horner (which is a definite favorite of mine) IS out on all the podcast platforms but I have not created a RUclips version yet. I'm hoping to soon, but in the meantime it's on Spotify, ApplePodcast, and all the others. Thanks!
@@journeytothestage Thank you!
One song for me that gives me the chills is that iconic music of Transformers. Scorponok.
Nice one
That was an excellent interview! You have interesting, probing questions, and a very nice, calming voice. So glad I stumbled over this.
Pity, this production sounds like shiz💋🇬🇧
Unfortunately, the only way I could interview her was on the phone, so I took what I could get. Less than ideal due to the sound quality, a downside of recording that way. Thanks for tuning in!
If you don’t have anything nice to say, why don’t you keep your mouth shut?
Hicklin and his singing group were Jaw-dropping talent
Great interview Bryan! Amazing to hear some fun stories from Phil, and a sweet rendition of Here Comes the Sun!! Keep up the good work...I really like your style.
You just made my day. Thank you for the great comment and encouragement. Phil is such a great guy and made my job easy. Thanks for listening!
Nicely done interview and some gems of insight here.
Thanks Holly! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for doing this work bro!
Thank you for listening! If you haven't heard part 2, it's worth a listen.
Aron asked me once a long time ago "What's your favorite band" I said RHP but he hated them. He liked Sting and Toto but not The Police. We have nothing in common musically so it's good that we both play drums.
Very interesting. Musical taste is so personal and subjective. Glad you go to chat with Aron though!
Thank you for this Bryan, interesting interview and questions!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job, love to hear anything from the great Carol Kaye.
She's a true legend. If you haven't heard part 2, we cover a lot of ground there.
Thank you, great talk👍
Phil is a great guy. Thank you for listening.
Thanks for the interview, some great questions! I love Henrik (and Aron and Jonah) so much! Saw them live 10 years ago on their first US tour and again recently. Met them this time and they were all so chill, gracious and humble. Can't wait for the new EP!
Thanks for listening! I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
This was so cool! Listened on Spotify but a video is awesome!!!
Thanks for a rad interview with Henrik Linder! Super interesting, especially for me the process of writing, arranging and recording their tunes, e.g. how he and Aron came up with those passages of ‘lots of noise but no vocals’ in Run Away 😉 or the way Aron writes gibberish lyrics, and Henrik makes real ones out of them using the vowels ;) Henrik makes everything so real, no bullshitting, just being a person who loves making music with friends. Super questions and super cool answers, in so many ways 😎 Thanks again, Brian and Henrik 🙏☺️👍
I'm so glad you enjoyed the interview! It was fun to chat with Henrik, who was relaxed and easy to talk to. He made my job easy!
@@journeytothestage yeah, it always seems chilled with Henrik ☺️
Id like to get review by you for my songs

I love this man. He's such a big inspiration and influence to me
I second your sentiments.
Wonderful to hear from the great Carol Kaye again and you are a terrific interviewer!
That's kind of you to say. I'm glad you enjoyed our chat.
Curious how, by today's podcast standards as at 24th June 2024, this double-segment conversation with one of the greats has garnered so relatively few views and comments and yet, just as with Carol Kaye herself, to future audiences of this exchange with her, the "interview" shall undoubtedly be considered hugely revelatory and important to their understanding and appreciation for Carol's contribution to popular music, along with it's influence upon those of us who have lived through and been touched, often deeply so, by it during the 20th century, Well done and thank you.
@SebDangerfield-yu7cm thank you for your kind comment. With 3.7 million videos uploaded to RUclips every single day, it's getting harder and harder to find an audience. That's a tough reality for content creators to work in, especially if there isn't a budget for advertisement. My job, as I see it, is to do the best work I can do, continue to adapt, and then hope these find a decent place with those who would enjoy them. I really enjoyed my interview with Carol. She has not given a more comprehensive, wide-ranging interview, at least that I have seen. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
@@journeytothestage It's the best interview with Carol I've heard and the bar is high because she's done some great interviews. So well done, you. And, again, thanks for getting the interview in the first instance but for mixing it up with stock-in-trade questions along with the occasional curve-ball, every now and then, yet couched so as not to spook the horses. That's a gift you clearly have. Hope you keep it up.
Arete! Excellent. Gracias.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I absolutely love these two episodes. Well done, my brother 😊
RICH!!!! Thanks for swinging by, my friend. I'm glad you enjoyed this interview. It's very near and dear to my heart. Now get back to posting memes!! 🙂

DOH! You're so right. It's what I get for posting videos when it's really late.

Mr. Keaggy is my favorite guitarist EVER. He's inspired me musically since I first heard Play Thru Me and Town To Town when I was a boy learning how to play. Such a master class artist! ❤🎶
Agreed 100%

I'm not sure how to do that put I'll check it out. Thank you
I have just discovered your podcast via RUclips having been a fan of Malcolm Guite's for a few years now. He once kindly gave me an hour of his time (and a CD of his folk music) in his room in Girton College, Cambridge when one of my daughters was a student there. He is such a generous man and I think that this is such a good interview. A great credit to you.
I'm so glad you found my podcast. I have many more episodes on the podcast platforms than I do here on YT. I appreciate your kind words.
Plip Side was my all time favorite.
Look at the casting model poster the PJ team had for Tom Bombadil. It jumped right out from the books.
There is several great artworks of radagast as being equally as noble as the both of grey and white. Aiwendil is awesome. When I find the one I speak of I’ll just share I’ll just share artist name etc here.
When you see how much was removed from the HP movies it’ll look criminal since they made it 8 movies when it needed to be 12 at that point. Also. Nowhere else have you watched dozens of kids grow up before your eyes. They’re all friends. Everyone. The entire team and the cast
Many people don’t realize is HP books had a full on system to abide by but not many seem to realize her stuff isn’t baseless stuff to HP magic etc. the world is cemented with dozens of stuff. Her interview with Daniel Radcliffe shows some of this too. React to it!
Rowling had planned the ending long before the beginning. So….
Rowling took the whole cutting thing well. react to her interview with Steve Cloves. Many things even to the movies she was more than happy and even grateful for some changes and many things in the movie she thought were better than the books.
There are moments I used to hate the hobbit movies but over time I grew to appreciate them and after ROP they are even nicer.
