I think you hit a nail on the head. Masculinity is going to be so different from person to person and our ideas might be different but the biggest part is being there for others and being there for yourself. Look up re-parenting, you'll get what I mean. And while it mostly deals with relationships both familial and romantic, "The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love" by bell hooks really shifted how I look at masculinity and my interactions with women and men in my life.

I think potemkin from guilty gear deserves an honorable mention. While not really a wrestler his fighting style fits the bill. Max from steeets of rage 2. There was an isekai anime in the last couple of years with a tiger masked wrestler geting summoned to a fantasy work. I forget the name of it. Thw dead or alive series has at least 3 pro wresters including Bass very heavily inspired by hulk hogan.

I feel like if Basquatch did get an english release it would have been butchered. I feel that michiko is more south american hispanic than black, but the cop trying to catch her is undeiably black. You need youroichi from bleach though. Also I think Casca from berserk counts too. Now I feel like I need to do some research to find more black women in games and anime.

As someone who is going down the route from masculine to nonbinary, this is the kind of attitude I want to carry from before. I was AMAB, and I embraced it as best I could. I grew up in a sort of heterodox Christian fundamentalist cult, a Mormon. Sex and gender are rigid up to and including their cosmology. And slowly I began to realize I wanted out. Out of the religion, the guilt, the toxic masculinity, and the lies. I wanted to be more than just a soldier, just a servant of blind faith. I wanted to shrug of the disparity and inequality I was raised to believe in. Mormonism is just American Exceptionalism/Imperialism- The Religion. The most powerful war machine on the planet is the USA. And I refuse to be a part of blessing, excusing, and sanctifying the system that generates so much imperialism and exploitation in the name of profit. Plus there is the whole history of the Abrahamic God, YHWH, as a Canaanite god of war and destructive flash floods who became a bandit god during the Bronze Age collapse, much like Durga and the Thugee in India (a concept popular in British fiction since the British Raj, see Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom for an inaccurate pastiche derived from that culture). The later portrayal of YHWH as recorded in the Old Testament is a blending of YHWH with the king of the Canaanite gods named El-Yah. If you have heard the term Elohim before it literally means “Those of El/Children of El” aka the Canaanite pantheon. It is funny how Jesus came to fight against the very things YHWH stood for, and yet to this day the biggest Christian institutions side with empire and war and patriarchy. Fist of the North Star is honestly one of the best series out there and it teaches so many life lessons that modern society have sadly forgotten, and I say this as a transwoman that is still a fan of the series. Kenshiro, in my opinion, should be the inspiration for every person cause he exemplifies all good attributes anyone can show and time and time never gives into negative traits that the villains have fallen into, such as uncontrolled anger, vanity, jealousy, hatred, and the desire to hurt those around them. Not to mention that Kenshiro in a metaphorical sense defeats the main villain of part 2 with the power of love.

True masculinity is only the purest from of humanity for men. The pinnacle of this is Jesus Christ and in anime Kenshiro or Jonathan Joestar,etc.

Just because they are dark skinned does not make them black pacfic islander is what they are way to make this all about you guys what do you think medatarinian people are black too they aren't.

Personally I think that Fist of the North Star is a masterclass in showing what true masculity should be and what it is not Kenshiro, but also Toki, Shuu, and others, are great examples of positive masculinity (and I'm not talking about being super-jacked and kicking ass) in how they use their strength to protect those in need rather than for personal gain, in their willingness to make huge sacrifices for those they love, in the way they can embrace and display their emotions and be compassionate, and yet stern and decisive when needed. They differ from men like Shin or Raoh, who despite their potential allowed toxic traits to take over, believing that love or order could be achieved just through the display of brute strength. And then of course there is the cautionary tales of the very opposite of masculinity in scum like Jagi, devoured by envy and bitterness, and the countless goons who do nothing but being driven by lust, greed and gluttony, acting strong against the weak but showing cowardice in front of real challenges, all of which find the miserable end they deserve.
