Hi, Thanks for sharing this very practical tutorial. Do you know how to link the groups so that you can change the text "LOREM ISPUM" at once? and not on each group? Is this possible? Thanks for your help 🙏
Maybe you can use the behavior "link" to the text input?
@@forksandrec Thank you
Is it possible to have a disqueezed image on the monitor of the C200 ?
Great job, the question is , would 90x90 timber will work good on colorbond roof if installed,
Beautiful timeslapse videos, I wished you started from the ground preparation
Do these Toja Grid kits come with the actual wooden posts included or do you have to buy those separately? Also, do you fasten the wooden legs to the ground with nails or is everything just simply weighted down naturally? Thanks.
You have to buy the wood separately. I fastened to bottom brackets to concrete.
What are the dimensions?
How to protect the wood. What paint?
OF COURSE ITS THE MEN WHO DO ALL THE WORK
What kind of wood? Looks nice.
MUCH THANKS for this footage... I have the Canon C100 (Mark 1) and I want to move to anamorphic shooting, w/ the Anamorphot 40.....I have heard a lot about the Canon 40mm ("pancake") being one of the best EF taking lenses with the Anamorphot 40... therefore, this footage is extremely helpful to be able to view, re: Camera/Lens/Adaptor combo, for the 2.35:1 aspect ratio/framing .. Much thanks, looking forward to any more footage
Question do you think these brackets would be over kill for a privacy screen on a elevated deck
this is touching :')
Hi, just a question, after couple years, did you wish you went with the 6x6 kit or did the 4x4 hold up real well over the few years? Thanks in advance
Hi sorry for the delay in responding. Since it was a small pergola, 4x4 is fine.
I have a 5,1 with similar upgrades and in 2023 I'm still in love with this computer. It runs my home music studio beautifully and with Windows installed on a second drive I can even play pretty demanding games. Thanks a ton for this idea. I'm going to look for a similar sized metal cart to keep the same aesthetic as the Mac Pro.
Looks great. Where did you get the 1x2” strips of wood?
Home Depot
Looks fantastic! Question? Where did you get the 2 x 4 joist hangers? The one's Toja offers are screwed in top of the 4 x 4 with only one mounting hole. Then side holes for the 2 x 4 has 2 on both sides. We live in snow country so that one top mounting hole on the bracket is concerning for snow accumulation. We prefer the brackets that you used but Toja doesn't have them on their website hence our question. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Again your pergola looks great and wishing you & your family 👪 many happy memories.
Hi sorry for the late reply! Thanks for the kind words! The joist hangers were from Simpson Strong Tie. a.co/d/68Ovjot
I like your pergola. It simple and very nice. Do you have to recut them for exact measurement?
Nice video, thank you for sharing. What is the overall size for the pergola (outside). I am trying to square the concrete piles ...I assume the wood here is not touching so it will be 11'' added (using 6x6). My 6 6x6 posts will also be bearing the deck since i don't have a concrete slab and a slopped backyard. Many thanks
Too high to provide shade and the top runners need to be thicker. I'm betting the runners are sagging by now. Decorative but not functional.
At 4m 30sec i be like...[shouting in ultra slo-mo] "NnnnnnnOoooooo" !!! Scrambling to toss you my L - Square...🤣. Looked like smooth fun...but i'd still end up go'n around cuss'n & swear'n saying...BUT IT WAS JUST THERE A MIN AGO !! GOD$#@&!'N IT !
Is the Home Depot LINX just as good?
Just bought the Toja grid for our backyard. This is probably my favorite rendition of this pergola. How much did you spend for the wood if you don’t mind me asking??
I spent about a little over $500 for the lumber.
What are the Dimensions please?
Sorry for the delay. The total dimensions are about 16'x7'
How high is it
does this shake or wiggle?
Since it's 4x4, it will move when I push it. It might move slightly when it's super windy, but it doesn't feel unsafe or anything.
I'm still in the research process. Going with 4x6 or 6x6 is a better long-term solution for stability, as well as twisting or warping wood.
Thanks for the vid. Curious how deep you poured your footers?
It was about 18"
Did you stain the wood? Or did you buy it that color?
I bought redwood and used a clear sealer.
Beautiful backyard! Thanks for the video.
Great video. It’s gonna be very helpful. We are about to start our project. What wood did you use. We found rough red cedar in a local store but I am wondering if I should sand it. It full of splinters.
Thanks for the comment! We used redwood. It was smooth, but I did a quick sanding to make it smoother. I'd imagine you would probably want to sand your rough cedar too. I'd also recommend bringing one of the footings just to make sure it fits nicely.
nice job what kind of wood did you use on the posts and it is 4by 4 or 6 by 6, thanks
Sorry for the delay. I used 4X4 redwood for the posts.
My guy!!!!! I see what you did but one question????? Where's the description of where to get the parts? Or set? But more importantly good video my guy, chill music, not to long, and clearly can see everything being build.
Appreciate you! I'll update the description with the links. Thanks for watching!
great video anyway, thanks for sharing
we just got our Toja 4x4 kit, where did you get your lumber?
We got our lumber at Home Depot, but but not all at once. We would look for the best looking lumber, and if there were only a couple, we'd buy them. We'd check different stores in the local area and just get as much as we can until we had enough.
Nice, how much Gravel do you have in there, a and what kind is it? Also, what Size is Concrete piers? Thanks for any help you can give us.
Thanks for commenting. There's about 1 ton of pea gravel in there. The concrete piers are 12" in diameter.
@@forksandrec how DEEP did you go with the Piers?
@@BWWGL9 Oh, I went about 18"
Greta video and it looks great. I just bout the double pergola. It recommends rafters every 12” but i don’t feel like buying (expensive) that many. I like the how you put the wood on top of the rafters. What size is that wood?
Thanks for the comment! For the rafters, we also didn't want to put too many because we knew we wanted slats at the top. We felt like 2 rafters each would look nice. The size of the slats were 1"x2"
Looks great! Can you tell me how sturdy it is? I have only seen a single 10x10 pergola built with 4x4's in a home building store and it was very shaky.
Thanks for the comment and sorry for the late response. When I first put it up, it seemed a bit shaky. Then I fastened the brackets to the wood and also the concrete footings and it felt much better. I live in a windy area so sometimes it sways, but not too much. I would be concerned if I added a shade, though.
@@forksandrec Thank-you! My kit is on the way! Looking forward to the build.
great video - result looks great! just got our toja kit today and getting our lumber next. wondering what kind of wood/stain you used?
Thanks for the comment and sorry for the delayed response. The lumber is redwood and here's a link to the sealer we used: www.homedepot.com/p/Olympic-Maximum-1-Gal-Clear-Exterior-Waterproofing-Sealant-57500A-01/305230334
Did you use a 12 inch preformed tube? Great video.
Thank you for the kind words! Yes, I did use a 12 inch concrete tube form.
What is included in the kit? The post too or just the black steel brackets?
The kit is basically all the black steel - corner brackets, footings, the screws, and the screw coverings. I had to buy the lumber and fasteners separately.
Great job. I just watched the official Toja Grid video that skips the back-and-forth process getting the thing up. If you're building in a corner (like I was with my first) it can be really tricky to tip it back and forth enough to get the legs in. Splitting it into two stages is definitely the way to go (I didn't, my first time. Lesson learned for this month's second one...).
Thanks for the comment and sorry for the delayed response. I completely agree with you - it must've been tough in a corner. Hope the 2nd build went well!
Donde puedo conseguir esa madera
Great job. May I know the stain used?
Sorry for the delayed response. Here's a link to the sealer I used: www.homedepot.com/p/Olympic-Maximum-1-Gal-Clear-Exterior-Waterproofing-Sealant-57500A-01/305230334
I was trying to order my 4x4 cedar today... The price is tripled compared to last year...
Yes, I've heard that lumber prices are INSANE right now.
Our kit shipped today and hoping to put it together next weekend. Now to bite the bullet and but the wood and bolts! Great video- thanks!
Thank you for commenting! Have fun during your build!
It looks great! I'm about to put my own Toja together next weekend - can you tell me about the size/kind of concrete anchors you used?
Thank you! I used Tapcon concrete anchors. The diameter was 5/16" and the length was 2-1/4". I used a 1/4" drill bit for the pilot holes. Good luck and have fun putting the Toja together!
@@forksandrec Hi there, could you send me the link to the company please. I plan to put one on my deck seafront in Mozambique. Thanks.
@@mkeyser90 The name of the company is Toja Grid.
I assume the big posts are 4x4s, and the cross rafters are 2x4s? Then the smaller ones, I'm not sure of and would like to know. They look really nice and I've not seen them used in any other Toja grid applications. Nice innovation!
You’re correct on the sizes. The slats on the top are 1x2 pieces. My wife found the idea on a blog and we totally copied it 🤣 Thanks for the comment!
Great video. What size wood did you use for the slats on top and where did you get them? I'm building my Toja Grid and want more shade.
Thanks for the comment! I used 1x2 redwood pieces for the slats. Good luck on your build!
Did you add the slats so that you could add a roof cover
i love this stuff but wish i knew where to buy it reasonably. Great work and video. Thanks
Thanks! It is definitely pricy, but I took advantage of Black Friday deals for the Toja Grid.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for dropping by!
🙏 🙏 🙏
Interesting, how did you like the setup?
Sorry for the delayed response! I liked that the 40mm is a pancake lens so adding the adapter to it didn't make it feel really big. I do want to take it for a spin at night time where we can really see those horizontal streaks.
@@forksandrec No worries, I think the only thing holding me back is the SUPER SMALL focus ring. But Id think the 24 and the 40 with the Anamorphot would just be the perfect combo for filmmaking.
@@Deviantchildren That's a really good point. Since I was shooting landscapes and was between f5.6 and f/11, the focus wasn't a huge issue. I'm sure it will be a big deal when I have an actual person as the subject.
This is beautiful i just want to get my hands on this camera
