Why some paint comes off and some doesn't
In this video you say that it's not flammable and you don't have to worry about towels and things after the fact. But your material safety data sheet for this product says "Spontaneous combustion can result from materials soaked in this product such as rags, steel wool, paper, and clothing. Place-soaked materials in a sealed, metal container to prevent this." Those seem to me to be contradictory. Can you clarify?
Not an accurate comparison at all. Firstly the greenez used was not the right product. I’m certain stripwell knows this but opted to go with the cleaner instead just to prove a point. Easy off is typically used to lighten the wood, not necessarily strip paint, varnish etc, and QCS, though many would love to give it a try, especially those of us who live in the northeast and are limited to a shed or garage because of cold weather, snow etc. Stripwell, though comparable in price as the other popular ones, also charge for shipping so that’s a “no” for me. Get rid of shipping costs without adding the cost back to the product and I’m certain QCS can rule the paint stripping industry.
I have some front door side window glass with wood trim. Can you tell me if QCS is safe on glass? Yes, it is in the vertical position.
I know it’s awesome, but you can’t get it in Canada 😭
Mad Man Restorations channel had a great video of your product so I found your site. Great video and would definitely use your product Sadly there’s no QCS available in Alberta 🇨🇦😢
so i made it too :D just by using WoodPrix plans:)
Can you please tell us what kind of cloth is the blue one?
I’m getting blue bear from now on, it didn’t darken the wood like the others.
If I may make a suggestion... I wish Stripwell didnt come in a spray bottle, I feel like I waste a lot. Next time I am going to decant it and brush it on.
You can actually apply QCS in whatever works for you! 😊 Spraying is just super easy in some cases. Thanks for using QCS!
Which strippers turned the wood black? Ew!
Does this product work for newer cabinet paints/stains as well
You scrape the gel off. Not an apples to apples comparison that way
Terrible analogy.
What's your analogy?
It depends on what kind of finish you are dealing with. Was that old varnish?
This was a vintage lacquer.
Why not scrape off excess then use steel wool?
I am a residential contractor and I am bidding a job to refinish cabinets. How many hours did it take to strip this cabinet not including wait time?
How old are the cabinets you will be stripping? This finish came off VERY quickly after the QCS Finish Remover was allowed to work. Feel free to email us and we would happy to help you! customerservice@stripwell.com
Curious as well. Comparing to soda/coal blasting equipment, or taking to a dip'n'strip service
Thanks for the video What should I use in UK never heard of your prod
I am not sure what is available in your area. Our QCS System is unique and there isn't anything really comparable. If you email us at customerservice@stripwell.com, we can provide a shipping quote for your consideration.

Great video! Would QCS work on highly carved details on furniture? If so, how do I remove it? Thanks.
Hi! Because QCS Finish Remover and QCS Surface Cleanser are both liquids, they are much easier to clean out of carvings and other details compared to gel and paste products. We recommend using a stiff nylon bristle brush OR brass bristle wire brush to scrubb all the details. For very fine details you may also need to use picks. Dental picks work great! After you have scrubbed and released all of the finish after the stripping process and removed the majority of residue, follow that up with QCS Surface Cleanser to release and wash away any remaining residue. You COULD also use a hose or pressure washer (be very gentle) to wash everything thoroughly. Lastly, if you have any compressed air (either a compressor or one of those air cans for computer keyboards), you can blow out all of the details. This will also help to dry th wood. Repeat steps as necessary! Good luck and hopefully this was helpful! 🌞
@@stripwell thank you!
@@stripwell I tried it out on a flat area this morning. Once dried, I will flip the door over and apply it to the carved area. Thanks.
@@mariamidura3089 Also, covering the item in plastic can really help, too. Patience is your secret weapon. Let QCS do the work for you. 🌞

I'm refinishing old doors. One side has paint and the other side is stain/varnish/something. If i'm just planning to paint them again anyway, does it have to be perfectly removed?
It doesn't have to be perfect, but you should remove as much as possible so that your final outcome looks good and lasts. The cleaner the surface better. We recommend on those tougher coatings and paints to apply QCS Finish Remover and then cover the item with plastic and let it sit for 12 to 24 hours. Overnight is good. Often, this really helps!

They won't give you an SDS on it because they don't want you to know its nothing more than denatured alcohol which you can buy at Tractor Supply for $10/gallon rather than $40 a quart from stripwell with it renamed to QCS. I guess QCS stands for Quick Cash System, which is what they're doing.
I'm sorry - not true. The internet is such a fun place. 😊
QCS comes with a cheap useless sprayer and is nothing more than denatured alcohol that they are selling for about $40/quart and another $8 for shipping. Tractor Supply has a gallon of denatured alcohol for about $10. Stripwell is selling you denatured alcohol for $160/ gallon when you can buy it locally for $10/gallon. The only thing stripwell is doing is stripping your of cash. They call it QCS for Quock, Clean, Safe. It's not quick, its not clean and its not safe: WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Methanol, Carbon Monoxide and Methyl Isobutyl Ketone, which are known to the State of California to cause birth defects and other reproductive harm, and Methyl isobutyl ketone, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer. This product and its by-products contain soot which is known to the State of California to cause cancer.
I'm sorry - but none of that is true and our loyal customers know it.

Is this supposed to have gotten rid of the water spots/circles? I can still see them towards the end of the video when you were drying with the towel. I have some water circles i want to get rid of while i strip my furniture as well.
Stripping will unfortunately not remove dark rings and water marks from wood. For this, you will need to strip, lightly sand, and then treat with a hot water/oxalic acid treatment. Sometimes it will require a few treatments. Oxalic acid is available at most home improvement stores, and is not too difficult to work with.

I realize it is a throwaway, but I would have put the violin on a thich towel to avoid abrading the underside of the work piece.
Yes - if this was an actual restoration project, more precautions would have been taken for sure.
