For the first time, many of us are finding ourselves at home. We’re home for a prolonged period of time, with nothing to do - and many of us are doing just that - nothing. And that’s where the problems begin. If we don’t figure out a way to be active, then you’ll come out of this period of self-isolation shaped like a potato; weaker and deconditioned. Your body will break down, and you’ll be mo...

It is a big pulley system that all works together. Everything is connected. I am frequently amazed at how complex a machine the human body is. Just as the flap of a butterflies wings on one side of the world can cause a tsunami on the other side of the world, a small muscle imbalance in one area of the body can cause immense pain and discomfort in another area of the body. This is very accurate...
Your Iliopsoas: The Hidden Cause of Your Hip Pain

Most people sit far too long these days. Years ago most people had jobs where they were on their feet. Jobs like being a clerk or working on an assembly line. Now most jobs revolve around sitting. Sitting has been called the smoking of our generation. It tightens many hip muscles and abdominal muscles, like the iliopsoas. And when those muscles tighten, they shorten over time and make standing ...

You nailed it. For me, that is the big bad culprit causing me pain at times. I am dealing with a brutal flare up of the Teres Minor and need to do some of these trigger point releases and see if it helps. It is super hot right now and firing up big time. Will update on how this works. Thanks a bunch.

This is insane. I've been suffering from a supraspinatus shoulder impingement for months and my progress has plateaued and so I've been looking at treating my rhomboid stiffness. A couple months earlier I felt slight discomfort in my armpit, and then randomly my Teres muscles got extremely tender. My PT said it was obvious that they'd get more tender than my other side which isn't injured (even though I didn't lift), so I did this and immediately got a warm sensation through my arm and I can feel so much tenderness with a lacrosse ball. Going to work on everything and going to do this + stretches and strengthening exercises. So exciting I know another reason for my shoulder impingement!

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes, this method has been worked way beyond of my expectations for the pain relief and I did it for about two weeks with almost no pain after that. However, I should emphasize that this is only for pain relief and you must work on the specific muscle (or the surrounding muscles) to make it stronger. After almost 7 months I can say 95% of my strength get back.

Ridiculous and overly clinical. Everyone suggests tennis balls for this, but they’re far too blunt. The rounded edge of a table, etc. is far better and you can really get into that teres minor.
