great skills and tips Peter cheers👍👍👍👍👍👍 Kev
Thanks 👍
Really enjoy seeing the repairs performed as you progress. 👍
Thank you very much Lloyd I enjoyed watching your videos too
Thanks for sharing 😊 Great workmanship Zoom zoom
Thank you very
Hi Peter. Clever idea to fit the overriders to ensure a good fit and gap . There must be a reason why you don't have a spotwelder . I have a 240 v Seally and it does a great job. 😊
I have had two spot welders in the past, one was 440 which I couldn't use at home the other one was a 240 which I could use at home. Unfortunately it kept blowing the fuses after about half a dozen Welds. I also had a TIG welder which liked blowing the fuse so they went on eBay.
@@peterdunne8107 Must admit l bought a "multispot 80 " that was redundant from work for £50 , it too was 400v and a 3phase converter was over £3k ! I sold it to Dominic Chinea for £500 ! My Seally is perfect but you have to work slowly with it . Thanks Peter .
Great to see these videos back, Peter. Just about to start the same work on my Vitesse.
Best of luck! Have fun!
Great job, you always have some great tips
Thank you! Cheers! I appreciate that! Thanks for watching and commenting
My friend at University had a Mk 2 Vutesse, so this restoration brings back happy memories of us cleaning the frost off the dashboard gauges on cold mornings, as the convertible hood didn't seal properly !
The saloon car was just as bad, thanks for watching and commenting.
Great stuff as always Peter. I so wish l'd filmed the restoration work on my '69 TR6 . 😊
I wish I filmed restoring my TR6 but when I restored mine, I never owned a camera or computer and never even knew how to operate them either
@@peterdunne8107 Snap !
Fantastic work, I'm hooked and subscribed. I briefly had a Mk2 and spent a small fortune on it, unfortunately after a recession in the late 80's I had to sell it halfway through the restoration, the one that got away🙁 the guy I sold it to got a bargain of a lifetime! boy did his eyes light up when he saw what I'd already spent the money on ! I will be following all of your videos for sure.
Thanks for the sub! And Thanks for the visit
Peter, just to repeat, thank you for reloading the vitesse restoration series, top notch metalwork.
No problem, thanks for the visit
great work Peter👍👍👍👍👍👍 atb Kev
Thank you! Cheers! Thanks for the visit
Love these videos Peter. I have a 67 Vitesse of my own but am really nervous about repairing the bodywork. Your videos really are helping give me confidence to have a go. 👏🏻👍🏻
Go for it Best of luck!
Hi Peter, how many steel templates have you lying around. Cheers, Joseph
I don't have many steel templates now, when I made those about 30 years ago, I worked in a engineering company where they had a profile burning machine. Since then I usually make my templates from ply wood.
Thanks Peter. Always a pleasure to see you in action 😊
My pleasure!
I appreciate how you show us to piece the panels together for a good fit. That much easier than trying to make one big panel that doesn’t fit. Have a great week
Glad it was helpful!
nice one Peter a true craftsman.👍👍👍👍 atb Kev
Thanks 👍👍
Amazing as ever, Thank you 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it 👍👍
Hi Peter, hope your health is good! Thanks for posting again! British cars at it's best, another restoration worth seeing, you have Triumphblood for sure! Thanks for showing how, a lot of experts can't tip your skills!
😀👍
@@peterdunne8107 Sorry Peter, I've corrected the typing/writing mistake, my skills come under your knees for sure, by the way, thanks for showing us the products you use, handy tips and tricks!
Fabulous work as always Peter. Well done, looks lovely 👍🏼😎
Thank you! Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it.
Absolutely top job 👍
Thanks 👍 Thanks for the visit
Good to see any of your work, what a transformation, with the bonnet, skillful metalwork.
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching and commenting
So my idea of a 1600 goes straight out the window ! 😅 ls it Primrose or Jasmine Peter ? Was it my imagination or did the bonnet / sill look slightly incorrect ? You are the dogs when it comes to these motors . I was very good at pre air flow Lotus Cortina's ....to be fair , l'm pretty good at anything with 4 wheels 😊 Thankyou .....but you knock me into a cocked hat with your mechanical knowledge .
It is a jasmine Mk 2 Triumph Vitesse. I don't know why I said it was saffron, now I will have to change the title on my videos. The bonnet is not incorrect it's just the light in the photograph every photograph could look different depending on the way the light falls on it when the photo is shot. It's all to do with the exposure settings in the camera. If you hadn't asked that question I probably wouldn't have noticed so thanks for mentioning it.
craftsman at work
Thanks for the compliment and commenting.
Looks pretty cold in there Peter. Did you use express hardner ? Like you l paint all my restorations . Cheers !
Yes I did, and I also had four electric heater is switched on.
What a beautiful job you have done. It looks fabulous
Thank you! Cheers! Thanks for watching and commenting.
A true craftsman, not many left with your skills, well done sir.
My favourite colour scheme!! 🎉🎉🎉❤ well done ..
Hello Peter. Great work as usual but this is not where you normally work , so is it for a client at the premises ? And l could have sworn you were painting the underside in New White . This must be for a 1600 ? I'm surprised someone doesn't make outer wings . Cheers!
Yes that was me doing the painting as I do all the painting on all the cars I restore. The white was primer, and auntie stone chip thanks for commenting and Glad you liked it.
@@peterdunne8107 Always your coverage Peter .
Perfect, I wish mine which is in bits could look as good as that one day
You can do it! thanks for commenting and Glad you liked it.
MAGNIFICENT skills
Thank you! Cheers!
another great job Peter👍👍👍👍 atb Kev
Thank you! Cheers!
lovely job Peter first class love the sound of the trains in the background👍👍👍👍👍👍🚂🚂🚂🚂 atb Kev
Me too Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting
Pleased to see your in a workshop now Peter, much better conditions than the lean-to of the past. Another fine restoration.
Yes I have a lot more room now thanks for watching and commenting
would love peter to work on my car but don’t know how to connect
I already have quite a large queue waiting for me to work on cars and at my age I doubt if I will live long enough to do them all thanks for watching and commenting and the compliment.
@@peterdunne8107 thanks for the reply peter i work at the former triumph motorsport site in coventry HPL Prototypes and it would be great to get a photo of one of your cars outside the front. if you are ever near the NEC let me know we have nice coffee as well
great work
Thank you! Cheers! thanks for watching and commenting
I had a white one, convertible, 1971. Had to part with it about 15 years ago having owned it nearly 30 years. Still miss it.
I also have a white convertible had it since 1989?
Just love the Vitesse. Thank you for saving this one.. 👌👌👌
Glad you like it, No problem 👍
Hello Peter, is all well? When will you be able to upload the rest of this series? I've got to rebuild a GT6 windscreen frame, so I found this video very helpful. Up next is some A-post repairs and sill replacement, so having your videos to reference would be a great help.
I had major heart surgery a while back and I haven't been too well for some time. But I promise I will get back on to the videos hopefully soon.
@@peterdunne8107 I'm sorry to hear that Peter, i wish you well and a lasting recovery. Hang in there and take care of your self!
Cheers 👍
Well done Peter. Lovely to see my Vitesse at 4:50 too.
Thanks, Dave. Nice to hear from you.
Lovely car, but I would prefer to see the wheels silver and the back panel painted yellow. Also, using the original air filter housing would enable the original air ducting to be used. But it's very, very nice over all. Well done.
Fair enough! I just do what the owner prefers. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Undoubtedly , definitely, you’ve demonstrated the only procedure for car restoration. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Absolutely, immaculate job. Thanks
Thank you too!
Peter, thank you for returning to RUclips! (I've only recently noticed your uploads!). I'd like to say how much your videos inspired me to undertake my first complete restoration, of my Herald 13/60. When you removed your original videos I was extremely saddened, as I often re-watched them to boost enthusiasm or tackle a similar task. I asked in several groups (TSSC etc) about them, & eventually found a reply greply. I personally hope you share them again, in whatever format, for others to experience your professionalism and craftsmanship. I hope to shake your hand one day, and talk to you about rotten cars! 😂 Keep up the good work 👍🏆
I will be uploading all of my old videos eventually
Peter, that's what I call "having faith". We will learn a lot with this one. Cheers
Although I could restore this car, it would take far too much time and cost far too much money. I've only bought this car for parts to restore another MK 2 GT6, which I've already started .
Excellent work, love your videos.
Thank you very much glad you like them
been searching for these videos had them on a old pc subscribed . glad i found them again brilliant . is there another channel im missing loads of videos kind regards 😯stuart
Welcome aboard, I will be putting all the old videos back on RUclips. There is no other Chelle.
This video has inspired me to start the resto of mk2 that’s been sitting in my garage for 2 years! I will be following with great interest, as I’m a total novice, but want to do as much as possible myself. Keep up the good work!!
Go for it!
this was a funny one. never seen one this bad before. surprised she isn't seized.
The engine may not have been seized, but the carburettor's were.
You make it look easy, great skills.
Thank you! Cheers!
Another top video, thank you for uploading, it’s tremendous viewing. Just out of curiosity if you don’t mind me asking, do you keep the cars you restore or sell on once complete ?
I get more satisfaction from restoring them, not driving them. Much more comfortable in a modern car, so I only keep them a short while then sell them on, to get funds to restore the next one.
I glad there’s people like you still out there doing this, without your skills these cars would be lost forever, once you get around to selling your gt6, I’d be interested in taking part in any bidding in the future, so please keep me in mind. I’ve Always wanted a classic triumph but have always been put off as I’m not mechanically minded and it’s very rare to see someone as thorough as you doing the work to perfection as you leave no stone unturned. Giving someone like myself peace of mind.
Thanks, love all the tips like hole size for plug welds, really useful😊
No problem!
THANK YOU
