Nice! Please make a video about templates i enjoy ur videos
very good video please share the doors and windows family
I continue to learn more on youtube than i did in architecture school, thanks!
So you don't mind the incorrect line work this produces?
Can you add windows and doors into the wall ??
You are my go too guy on youtube you are very talented.
Thanks for the kind words! I hope these videos help you out in your work.
Great video! What's the best strategy to model insulation panels between studs? Thanks!
Oooh good question. I would use a curtain panels between the mullion "studs". You might get some strange things at corners and around doors. Plus Revit will want to tag the wall assembly with a wall tag so make sure you don't tag the insulation by mistake. Great idea though!
What a great video Scott! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Hey, thanks for the kind words. You're very welcome, and I hope it helps you!
I mostly do sweeping, but sometimes I do wall stacks and profile on top for my exterior walls. of course it'll be a pain when I have too many types of exterior wall. Profiles on wall stacks will remain on top no matter how you change the height.
I have done sweeps on top of walls as well. However the "Modify Returns" on a wall sweep are sometimes beneficial and I can't get those to work on built-in sweeps. Revit is sometimes like multi-tool, you can use several different commands to get the same thing. Thanks for the comment!
i love this, please can we get more videos about complex 3d details?
Hmmmm. Let the think on that one. One of my favorite things to do is to make intricate details in Sketchup instead of Revit, since it's much easier and is actually a teaching tool. Revit's 3D details are limited to mostly what I have shown. But I'll think on what else I can show. Thanks!
@@doubledeitle yesssss this is actually what I meant, generally for revit I use the mass in place tool for the creation of the components for the details however, it would be amazing to see how we could instead use Sketchup or rhino to turn that 2d detail into an amazing 3D one.
Thank you very much for sharing. What I really like about your Revit tutorials is that you show real working situations. Many RUclips tutorials are rather superficial and too academic, for lack of a better word.
I sincerely appreciate that. And yes, that's why I show the projects I'm working on instead of building a new model from scratch. Some of my videos are recorded during work time when I'm actually drawing something for a project right then. I'll keep going!
smotry kakoy fabric, smotry skolko DETAILS
Thanks! I'm hearing others ask for more details. Hmmm....let me work on that!
thank you Sir!
You are welcome! Hope it helps you out.
These tutorials are amazing
I sincerely appreciate the kind words. It means a lot when spending most of my free time editing and recording these, to get such great feedback. It means a lot. Thank you!
BEAUTIFUL, I'm in. thanks Scott
You got it! Enjoy!
Informative video, Kindly make a complete series of tutorials from scratch for Residential/commercial project. Your method of teaching is quite good
Thanks @hassanbashir5260. I'll keep making videos for sure. I appreciate the kind words.
I beilive in 2024 you can now add tags to locked 3D views which is a step forward for sure. I can't beilieve I didn't think about the active plane issue with dimensions! Great tip!
I'll have to check that out. I tried 2024 but I couldn't understand the topography changes before a big deadline, so I went back to 2023. Thanks!
helpful👍
Glad you liked it, thanks!
Nice to see a real life project workflow and not just random Revit tutorials. Keep up the videos showing your real project sheets on how you use Revit for your actual job.
Thanks, I see a lot of talented Revit tutorials but some of them are very simplified and not using actual work projects. It does take a lot of work to re-create a complex commercial project, but I also want to balance my client's privacy needs while showing their Revit model. Thanks for the comment!
Super sir Thank you so much for this tutorial. Very helpful.
Glad you liked it, thank you!
The best video for ever, I wish you would create a full tutorial of Revit.
Not sure if I could do ALL of Revit, but I will keep making tips for you all. Thanks!
These these also apply in the UK?
Each country and architecture firm is different, but beautiful construction drawings are universal. The better and more professional your elevations are drawn, the closer you are to meeting standards in the UK or anywhere. Treat your drawings like works of art and you will have great success!
super cool sir, more of this type content appreciable................
Will do, thanks for the comment!
hi sir how can i find this railing
Check the comments section again, I found the railing file (Revit 2022) and put the link there!
such an informative video! thank you for this subscribed.
Thanks so much for watching!
I've been looking for something like this for weeks. Thank you
Glad I could help! Thank you for watching!
Good information that applies to any design software you use. I use quite a few 3D sections and details for better communication. I design SF residences and the workforce in that industry gets less experienced as each year passes so I find that a good detail results in less RFI's. I have even used photographs in my plans for details. Everything is electronic for permit submittals where I am at and if plans need to be printed color is the same price at where most people in our area get their documents printed. (Bill's Blueprint). They even deliver for free.
Yes, I'm seeing that too...printed sets are more for the job trailer or those who prefer paper. Most are even being printed half size because very few people want full 24x36 or 30x42 or larger prints. And love great details, will probably do a video on those because I feel like I teach my peeps this almost every day. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you !!!!🙏🙏🙏
You are so welcome! Thanks for the request, I feel like an architecture video DJ! 😆
The stone veneer hatch looks great! Where can I find it?
You know, that may have been something I found from El Dorado stone about 6 years back...check out the BIM resources on their website. However, it might have been something that the office had at the time. I'm getting old and can't remember!
I do coping caps as roofs, and then use the fascia tool for metal coping caps. This allows you to slope the coping cap back.
Huh, that's interesting. Never seen it done like that. Great thing about Revit is there are multiple ways to do the same thing. I've seen people create entire roofs as floors so they can see the composite metal deck in section. Thanks!
I didn't get it. did you mean you create a roof on top of the wall or you categorize the model-in-place as roof to be able to use fascia on it?
@@danialsoozani Create a roof on top of the wall. Set it to variable and modify its sub elements to slope the direction of choice. Then you can apply fascia's if you need to. That way you don't have to do any work arounds with split faces or model in place components.
@@scotthamby276 now I get it! thanks! it was a brilliant idea tbh!
Thanks so much man keep making these videos
I really appreciate the kind words! Thank you, I will!
Can we do more 3D construction details pleaseeeeee maybe timber mass joints ?
Hmmm...mass timber joints is not something I've done a lot of...I've done more structural steel and wood framing. I can dig into typical detailing practices, and even show 3D in Sketchup, which I've done a lot. Thanks for the feedback!
@@doubledeitle amazing every 3D detail helps
That was helpful. Please do a long video on sections and elevations
You got it buddy! I'll put it on the list of upcoming videos.
Thank you
Welcome!
What if i need a schedule of the mullions for quantity and pricing
You can create a Curtain Wall Mullions schedule, make sure you set an additional parameter in the mullions to identify the mullion type, and Calculate Totals for length. Also add the Count parameter. This will give you the # of mullions as well as the total length. Usually we cost storefronts by area (cost/sf) so I haven't used a mullions schedule for pricing. Thanks!
Nice video!
Thanks for the kind words!
instead use framing system mullion cant have openings i tried it in my project later changed to framing system
Absolutely you can use the structural framing systems as well. When I have used these, they seem a bit more limiting to me than a curtain wall family. For openings, I usually edit the profile of the wall as a way to get doors and windows shown, and you can change the mullions to be headers, king studs, jack studs, etc. Great comment, thank you!
I was watching this video and based on the information you were giving, I thought this video was uploaded at least 30 years ago if it wasn't for two facts, the quality of the image and that RUclips isn't that old. Sorry to be blunt but the information you are giving is common knowledge and old as the hills. It's not even considered new tech because it's more than three decades old.
Thanks for your comment, @FirstLastOne, I appreciate it!
Good video. thank you. I make furry lines because it helps to make the lines straighter. There wont be any clients or anyone at all for that matter to look at my drawings. My dad was good at architecture, that skill skipped by me completely.
Thanks @wavekube4343. Keep sketching and enjoy the process, whatever type of lines you make! 😀
Air does not penetrate a glass window, even a single pane. Heat passes through the glass, not air, unless the window is poorly sealed.
Absolutely correct, thanks for clarifying!
