I saw this yeats ago and came back with the question of what if it was the white people telling the blacks not to wash , i mean they always wanted to teach them lies to make them superior i myself am a hispanic man and hate being told we are totally different beings with different hair
Not only that, but not showering can cause hair loss, oil, and dandruff build up, along with funguses and hygiene
it’s about hair porosity and it is really by a case by case basis low porosity hair tends to like being manipulated a lot less than high porosity hair high porosity hair would also benefit greatly from moisture so if you have high porosity hair that just loves water Like being moisturized because it’s constantly losing moisture then you’d probably benefit from this. However, compared to its counterpart, low porosity hair and normal porosity hair have no real struggle holding moisture with the right products so this would probably not be a good idea to try. With the case by case basis you can ask yourself does your hair get more oily than normal? Does your hair have trouble producing oil, is it constantly dry at the scalp? It’s not really getting dirty by your hair, natural hair oils, etc..
I haven’t met a lot of black girls also practicing head covering and, I’m actually researching washing my hair daily!! Immediately subscribed ❤❤❤ (I see from your channel that you also sew!! If I lived closer I would have loved to be friends 😊🥳). Blessings 🙏🙂
Herbal Essences is the real mvp
Little Sis, you are incorrect. What did Jesus say about marriage? What did God say in Jeremiah? when he called his bride back to him again? read it. If you were married, and you get remarried, you are committing adultery unless your spouse is dead. I pray that you will seek the Holy Spirit and truth will be revealed onto you. The only way to be free of your first marriage is if that person dies. Don’t be deceived.
Yes, we gotta be very prayerful 🙏🏾because I've a pattern of people teaching the truth on this when they're single and then changing their minds when they get married. Also, Mark 10:11 down 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Also, it makes me wonder if some of these products don't work for black women because we leave them on our hair too long. A lot of these conditioners, leave ins, serums, sprays, etc. are not meant to be left on the hair for 4+ days let alone 1-4 weeks!
Jesus gave us a ministry of reconciliation you are not taking it frome the new covenant protective.
When my hair was low to my head I had to wash it way more often than I do now and I tell ya it looked a lot better ima go back to my bald head girl regimen by washing it everyday
I thought about wetting my hair daily as well but I have very dense hair and different textures. If I’m washing my hair myself I must do it in sections to make it easier for me. Due to the density of my hair type I would never have the time to wash my hair daily. That detangling ain’t no joke with my hair
What shampoo did u use, did your tangle
Nice you have the texture that can wash everyday, my 4G mid back hair could never, it’s take 4-6 hours so it’s every 2-4 weeks for me.
Does this apply for high porosity hair?
Its not growth oils or shampooing it daily 🤔 it's the scalp massage.... Keep HAIR moisturized.... Period oh a multivitamin 😊
I have type 4 hair. Scientific research recommend everyone to wash their hair everyday. I wash every 2-4 days and will be moving to daily washing.
You are correct about the science of daily washing: ruclips.net/video/bDsNzlEeooQ/видео.htmlsi=7PYKC22a7Uyy7Giy This is the growth secret. Not cloves, rice water, or chebe.
Those of you who wash their hair everyday, what shampoos are you using that don't dry out hair
you may not be keeping the sabbath now but one day you will be (the whole world will be) because that is what God commands. its right in the scriptures. mankind does everything they can to not obey God but one day the whole world will be obeying him. everybody goes to church on Sunday, but Sunday is the first day of the week and not the seventh which is the sabbath.
My hair ( 4C natural ) loves it. Been doing it for a couple of months . Hair is flourishing! I co wash a few times a week ( not faithfully) and regular shampoo probably once a month .
That's not daily washing. Conditioner does not cleanse hair. You are just moisturizing daily and still washing once a month. She said she shampooed aka washed daily. We need to use correct terminology.
Cool eye color
Do i still need to wash my hair everyday if washing it is when it sheds the most? Also, my hair grows long while in a sew-in without being touched or washed. So is that a sign I wouldn't benefit from washing my hair everyday?
I wash my hair focusing on my scalp since we all have one, despite the hair on my head,. My hair responds just fine and I have 4c hair.
It’s pretty
You still wash your hair everyday?
I want to know too lol
Me, three.
I cut my hair a few months back, and I find recently that now that I am shampooing daily it started going faster. I make sure to follow up with a conditioner, but for the most part a tea tree shampoo that I thought would cause me issues is not. A few times out of the month I use Mane and Tail as my protein conditioner.
no offense but onision was right
I wash my scalp once a week. I just let them shampoo slide on my ends. My hair is growing like crazy. I don't use oils no more on my scalp.
Been washing my hair daily since 2014. 🤷🏾♀️
With shampoo?
@@cfoster6804no lol that’s not recommended, but nothing wrong with washing your hair daily.. shampoo cleans, conditioner conditions.
@@cfoster6804yes sulfate and silicone free.
I have been washing my hair every day and I already have curls. I was bald
🎉😂Sis, you’re African so it’s Afro hair. 😂 Doesn’t matter if it grew out wavy straight or curly!!! It’s growing out of your African scalp!!! 😂 😊 btw… I wash every other day depending on how I feel. We can wash every single day if we’re gentle with it & using the right 3 products for our hair. Also NO daily extreme HEAT!! 😎🥳
I Shampoo everyday then spray rose water, then add grease. Easy. Hair grows extremely fast becasue scalp is always clean. Never use conditioner anymore becasue grease conditions the hair 🤷 black girls do too much and always have
What shampoo do you use?

I'm in the process of finding out what works for me. I sweat really bad on my scalp. I've be daily washing with my cornrows in.
I looked this topic up because I’ve been thinking lately: if curly hair is the driest hair type, why are we told to avoid watering it everyday? We’re encouraged to moisturize with oil, but dry hair needs hydration. That only comes from water. If our bodies are dehydrated, do we drink a bottle of oil or a bottle of water? Just random thoughts I’ve been having about this. So thanks for talking about it.
Yeah seems like common sense don't it?
that’s not how it works. when we say moisture we don’t mean actual moisture. we mean conditioning. the reason curly hair is considered drier is because it tends to be high porosity and have less sebum on it both of these properties let moisture ESCAPE, and that’s why it’s “dry”. if your hair is dry don’t put more water on it, instead focus on sealing the cuticles and sealing in the moisture that’s already there. scalp however does need frequent washing, a clean scalp = healthy scalp = healthy hair
I was thinking the same thing.!
@lambsauce8937 you're partially correct. I'd would advise those with curly/kinky hair to wash more AND seal their cuticles to keep that moisture. The scalp needs to be cleaned regularly with water and the hair needs the moisture from water. If the hair is highly porous then the moisture can only return on wash days so adding more wash days increases the moisture in the hair
@@cfoster6804 Do you still listen to the ladosha and cheryl podcast? I stopped, I found them to be too misleading.
*_I don't listen to what other races say because they don't have our hair experience. Black hair is versatile._*
YASS SAY IT LOUDER
Is anyone doing this lately? I’ve been interested in washing my hair everyday, but I don’t know what to do afterwards… How do you moisturize your hair afterwards? How do you dry it? Do you leave it wet? How do you go to bed and take care of it when you wake up? I want to start wearing my hair out more, but I don’t know what else to do with it after washing except putting it up in a couple braids (my hairs really curly, and I struggle with a lot of fairy knots and splits). Any insight? I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now.
Try buying a standing hair dryer before trying it out. The indirect heat from the dryer will help dry your hair quicker and set your styles (for wash n gos/ twist outs) I wash my hair twice a week/ every 5 days and my length retention has been excellent.
I haven’t been washing my hair everyday, but every time I take a shower I would detangling my hair and twist it in four sections. Haven’t gotten the drying part down quite yet, but my hair has still grown a lot. I started with my shoulder length hair (that was originally above my butt but my ends made my hair un-detangleable) and as of now my hair is about mid back. My edges have even been growing in, which never had happened before 😂 I want to be able to shampoo my hair everyday, but as I said, my hair is around 4c and not loose like the lady in the video, it’s getting pretty long, so it’ll take a foreverrrrr. For now, I’ll have to deal with once a week
@HiyaItsNiah Check out Ms. Mississippi here on RUclips. She's a natural 4b/c who washes every 2-3 days. Her hair is thick and to her thighs. She's been washing frequently for many years.
Huh?? Just pat it dry.....
Have another source for you from a black scientist who endorses daily washing for black people. She has a science backed presentation. In part 4 she shares what she uses and when and how she styles her hair. Hope this helps: ruclips.net/video/bDsNzlEeooQ/видео.htmlsi=7PYKC22a7Uyy7Giy
I did a big chop years ago I did it my self to get rid of some blonde I had my hair stylist do it my mother had a fit but I washed and condition my twa every day by the fall my hair was back to it’s full length healthy and strong I never blow dryed just let it dry on it’s own I believe I cut late April early may might have put a little oil or grease on it that’s all when you learn and know what your hair will do you will learn how to take care of it
but what about detangling? that's when most of us find the hair breaks off.
detangle with suave shampoo and then add conditioner
Thank you, I'm mexican but i have super thick and greasy hair, I wash everyday sometimes multiple times a day, I didnt believe that blacks can't shower everyday to be true, almost seems like its something a white person told black people to do.... some do it for style and wanting to wash it everyday is two different things...also dry scalp could be dandruff .... I just am here because my sister doesn't believe her kids should wash they're hair often, also I shower but I put oils back in my hair, I like pomade or crew products
We shower everyday! But a lot of use are brainwashed into thinking our hair doesn’t need to be washed frequently because it can be hard to manage at times when in fact washing it everyday makes it more manageable and less tangled. The only thing is due to our courser texture it takes more time compared to straighter textures.
I always believed that was a lie as well like how??? you need to get rid of oils dirt and dry skin cells from the scalp otherwise how is a dirty oil hair follicle allow to grow hair??? Makes no sense clean scalp allows hair growth
It may be because it can alot of work for the most part especially if you had little ones. :) and before alot of tangle free and awesome natural products that we have now (in the 70's we used Wella Balsam and Fabrage Organics commercial shampoo's lol) shampoo's for different cultures lol.
Lol, if there is one thing black people do everyday it's shower. You can shower without washing your hair. Since you're Mexican I'll chalk your comment up to translation issues.🤭
@@BigbossleinaThis is true! We'll be pristine clean from the forehead down.😂
Question if African Americans don't wash there hair everyday are they washing there body's less frequently I could assume that like a teenage boy would be not showering that much if your not washing your hair daily then the body isn't daily .and if not washing daily do African Americans use like perfume on there hair because our hair absorbs smells an our scalp needs cleaning. I applaud you for providing the myths wrong
Its called a shower cap. It keeps your hair dry while you shower. I'm sure you've heard of that. Most of us bathe daily, like everyone else. I usually bathe twice a day cuz I go to the gym almost daily.
Yes, we wash our bodies everyday just like everyone else, like someone else just posted we use shower caps. SMDH 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ And no our hair doesn’t smell unless you put your nose directly to our hair
😒
@@AA-yc9dqRight.
I’m so glad I watched this because I decided to make this change last year and started washing my hair daily, sometimes I’ll skip a day if I’m busy but usually everyday then putting coconut oil in my damp hair and let me tell you for the first time in my life my hair has grown past my shoulders and I see clearly the growth every month! Love it and never changing back!!!… also they say that we must wear protective hairstyles to help our hair grow, i STOPPED doing that and leaving my hair out on a stay at home day or i tie it in a bun loosely for outings and my hair breakage has reduced immensely. I also trim my ends every 3 months so this has really worked well for me.
Put coconut oil with some rosemary leaves in a hot water bath to make rosemary infused coconut oil it made my haig grow so fast my baby hairs are almost just hairs now😂
@BuildaBi Why does she need to do this if she said simply washing is making it grow? That's part of our problem...we're out here doing the most except for keeping it clean.
Yeah my hair loves this and it just makes sense. Hair needs hydration so why not wet it every day?
I’m Africa we washed our hair everyday while showering it was healthy I don’t know who told you not to wash your hair
With shampoo though? A lot of people are talking about cowashing mess when they say wash.
Yeah thag gets mad annoying. Like I have nothing against cowashing but if you are doing that you gotta say it! Don't just call it washing lol
@@ChesireWaltzright
The only reason I don’t wash my hair every day is because it takes way too long to something with it afterwards and it takes 2 days to fully dry. Sleeping on wet hair is ni bueno
It only takes long if you haven’t figured out a quick technique that works for you yet, and you don’t leave the hair to air dry. Sit under a hooded dryer, use a diffuser or a microfiber towel to dry your hair.
@@LifeFilmz nope my hair is super super thick and long so takes for ever to comb out and to dry. Everyone is diff, so do what works for you!
@@WhatsUporDown no matter who you are the theory is that if you wash and detangle it more often it shouldn’t take you an hour or so to detangle it over time because you’re not leaving it to get tangled days on end. It’s all about consistency and the right products that give your hair enough slip. The only thing that would make you any different is if you don’t have the time or money to tend to your hair more often which is okay cause everyone’s lifestyle is different you just gotta do what works for you and improve where you can.
@@LifeFilmz I’ve tried washing & detangling more often and while it is a bit faster it’s not fast enough to justify doing it every day or even every other day. The girl in this video has super thin hair compared to mine. Have you seen truly thick hair? I don’t think you have or you wouldn’t be saying this.
@@WhatsUporDown my hair is thick and highly dense mostly type 4b hair. I started washing it more often because I am more physically active now throughout the week and I have to or else my scalp will be irritated from leaving sweat and dirt on it. It used to take me an hour to detangle my hair and now it only takes 10 minutes because I talked to a natural hairstylist who told me to switch my conditioner and to use a more gentle hydrating shampoo for frequent washing. I think because I’m getting it wet more frequently it’s making the process faster also. And my hair doesn’t take forever to dry because I bought a hooded dryer that gets it 75% dry when I sit under it for 30 mins and I let it air dry on its own the rest of the day. So I’m saying this from my own experience. But like I said everyone’s lifestyle is different so you can only improve where you can.
It's beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
When I was younger my mom washed my hair basically every single day, so that's what I did too (with sulfate shampoo...lol) My hair was down to my butt and very healthy. I don't know why I've stopped, if it's not broke don't fix it,right, finally washing my hair multiple times a week now for the first time in 10+ years and love it..
You can wash your hair everyday when you have any kind of hair that is "white like".....now don't get offended. But honey when you have 4b/4c hair try washing it everyday and you will not get the result that you get. Period. You get a result alright, a hard to handle more work result or a tightly packed even harder to handle result. You will NEVER understand because you don't have 4b/4c hair. So enjoy your wash day sister.
There is a lady called Mrs Mississippi on RUclips. She has waist length 4c hair which she washes every two to three days. Never say never
I have 4c hair and my hair has never been better since washing it everyday
There are people with type 4 hair that washes it everyday. Your hair shouldn’t become more tangled after washing it if you know how to detangle your hair properly and use the correct products. Washing it more often makes detangling easier cause you’re not leaving it to dry and knot up for weeks. It’s all about the products and technique not the hair texture if you don’t have those figured out then your hair not going to be any better trying this.
I wash my hair twice a week and I have 4c hair. It makes my hair manageable
@@Bigbossleina LOLOL! I'm sorry I didn't write this! I suspect my niece got hold of my phone. Too funny! I understand she does have issues but I explained to her everyone's hair is different and acts different despite the type, not all 4c, 4b, or 4a hair acts the same. She doesn't buy it. She grow and learn. ✌
Unless the shampoo is sulfate free you can wash as much as you want . The sulfate will clean it so much that it cleans the natural moisture leaving your hair dry which is really bad for curly hair
I don’t believe that. When I was in high school I washed my hair daily with regular shampoo and conditioner. I used mousse and hairspray. My hair was long shiny and very moisturized. I never had a split end.
@@twin86040317 maybe the mousse mended your split ends together :)
@@JayJay-oo2sc I don’t wash my hair daily anymore and I’ve been using mousse for the past year and have had so many split ends and my hair doesn’t grow fast like it used to
@@twin86040317 Interesting, really? Did you ever get around to washing more often again?
@@ChesireWaltz no. I think hormones, age, diet plays a part in it as well. But I don’t have time to wash daily. I also have realized I’m protein sensitive. Which has caused breakage on my hair. I now have been trying to use protein free products and my hair seems to be improving.
