Der AX war nach meiner Führerscheinprüfung 1993 ,mein erstes Auto ,allerdings als TEEN mit nur 45 PS und als Sondermodell POP ,mit getönten Scheiben .Ansonsten -war Neuwagen -auch für damalige Verhältnisse absolut spartanisch ,weder Servolenkung -die gab es generell nicht -noch Zentralverriegelung und E Fenster ,ebenfalls nur 4 Gang Getriebe und auch keine Scheibenwischerintervallschaltung ,an Klimaanlage hat -außer in der Oberklasse -sowieso keiner gedacht damals .Dennoch ..bin mit dem durch ganz Deutschland und bis nach Belgien gefahren der war aufgrund seines geringen Gewichtes ABSOLUT LANGSTRECKENTAUGLICH !! Von 0 auf 100 in 13 bis 14 Sekunden ,Spitze 150 ,damit ließ man in DER Klasse und 45 PS ,jeden -wesentlich schwereren -Opel Corsa oder VW Polo -die damals neuen Baureihen -stehen .Ich war sehr zufrieden .

I'm PROUD to say my car is a Citroen AX 1.1 Furio in nearly brand new condition, not far from what it looked when it left the dealership in 1995, one of the most well kept examples (not restored) of this car in existence today, 40.000KM on the clock, everything original except for the tires that were changed a few months ago due to old age not because they were bald, i bought this car after it had been kept for years in a garage, covered by sheets, at some point life took a bad turn and i got rid of it and somehow managed to get it back, the person that bought the car also kept it in a garage and only drove it 1000 kilometres total, finally i tried getting it back and after months of literal begging the person agreed after realising how much i love the car, although i dont care much about cars as i see them as a machine to take me trom A to B I still love this more than anything i own, i can't express how much i love this car and how i just find myself giggling every once in a while, when i look at it, it still has the original keyring that came with the keys when the original owner bought it in 95, its an old school looking Citroen symbol keyring, everything works in brand new condition, the car of my live. Back in the 90's I had the 5 doors version that has 1.1 liter engine. It can go up to 105 mph.

I had a xsara picasso back in 2007. Great family car. Very reliable especially for long distances, the seats are so comfortable. Now driving a C4 Picasso 2009 model. Yes looks better and more gadgets. But the Xsara drove more comfortable. Especially driving on the German Autobahn 😂

Don't care what any of you think. I'm on my third ax and they hold up way better than most people believe. I put a 1.6 in mine with saxo vts suspension and brakes. Never selling it.

I grew up with 2 Saxos over the years a T reg East Coast 1.1 (I loved the different coloured seatbelts) in blue and a 51 plate 1.6 VTR in gold that was a bit knackered, Im thinking about getting one before they get extinct to build a sleeper, the 1.4 engine was also in my dads C3 he replaced the VTR with.
