ITB N52 needs bigger injectors.
Quick blast up to 4500rpm just for some noise. Would love to run it all the way up, but it would seem the stock injectors are not up to the task.

N52 open trumpet intake runs up to 7700 rpm on a 2nd gear pull.
BMW 128i open trumpet intake

08 128i with catless headers, open trumpet intake, and Stage FP beta tune.
My mechanic slapped me for watching this
40-75 off one gear that quick In a n52 isn't to bad fr
Where's update, brother???
Redlined tf out of it 🤣
Zündspule
What exhaust?
Can’t wait for you to get your velocity stacks, heard you signed up for beta
Mine revs to 7,500 plus a gear box tune xhp stage 3, i bounce it off the limiter all day, as lkng as u wadn the car up, i do t go over 3000 until i have at least 80° Celsius
Hello!!! Also trying to create something similar. How would I get it to not die at stoplights!!
I would clutch in and hold some throttle. It's all in the tune. I never got it working 100%. There's a company 22RPD, that is in beta testing, maybe they can get it working.
@@Druwoods alright!! Thank you!!!
Please tell me this has a rev limit 😂 That induction noise is sublime!
Hi. What did you do apart from the air filter? chip? Have you raised the rev limit?
Did you blow the engine to pieces in the end?
Not at all. Ended up needing to daily the car, and the tune still had some gremlins. So I put the N54 manifold on and drive it daily. 188,000 miles and counting.
@@Druwoodswould you recommend N54 Intake or should i stay with my 3Stage?
@pajserbabo52 In an auto, I'd stay with the 3 stage.
strange question but how does the whole itb thing work? does it have itb's from factory and did you just add trumpets or did you scavenge them from something like a s54?
I killed that project off a little while back. With the bmw valvetronic, your intake valves become your effective throttle. In theory, allowing any intake to be put on. In reality, at least in my case, it wasn't a good daily.
@@DruwoodsWhy did you stopped the project btw ?
Wow it almost sounds like an E46 M3 CSL!
No filter?
Oil housing gasket and valve cover gasket left the chat
Hi is this on stock rods and bottom end. You’ve disabled valvetronic with different springs as well?
Yup stock bottom end handled it just fine. Didn't touch the valvetronic, was still using it. The intake was literally trumpets straight to the valves. With no MAF or even vacuum we couldn't meter the intake air volume. It was great when it was working but the stock ecu wouldn't play ball for long before it'd freak out.
@@Druwoods pretty interesting. Found your thread, how many miles did you run it like that?
Between 2500-3000 miles, from like January to November 2021, before we finally gave up.
My radiator blew just listening to this!
You certainly don’t understand cars
@@destruxandexploze2552 I certainly do! You're just talking shit, instead of having a sense of humor
Save that comment for a 12 year-old RUclips mechanic, not a mid-twenties automotive engineering major!
@@jozefvelez8458 Why would your radiator explode? It makes no sense. Especially when the water pump is electric and the rpm is not going to effect how fast the water pump spins.
Why would a car go into limp mode watching a video? It's called a joke look at the other comments here!
Any updates?
Thats pure bmw sounds right there bro
Dayum it really picked up after 5k
Yeah that's how N52s operate. Below 5k those are sluggish but once you're there it moves
Vanos kicked in yo
Love this sound do more videos
My 328i sound the same
Waiting for any updates on the ITB N52, any content would be appreciated!
22rpd is coming out with some. currently in development stage
What’s the phhhhh sound
Well you have me curious. I know that the throttle body on the n52 is essentially unused on the engine and is replaced my the valvetronic motor. What is the advantage of ITBs on an n52?
awesome what mods in ?
I would like to apply it to my 630ci. Do you have any videos or documents how to do it?
Oh shit rip th gear💀
God i wanna do this so bad but California sucks and idk if i can get away with smog after messing with the PCV and other components. Looking forward to seeing your continued progress nonetheless!
What exhaust setup?
Some AA replica headers with the stock resonator no muffler. It wasn't the injectors but the stock ECU. We had to abandon the itb/ trumpet setup because of it. We have it running with the n54 manifold now to retain some sensors and TB.
@@Druwoods That's a bummer. Are you still running 7700rpm on the n54 intake manifold?
@@Druwoods bro please please please tell me some more about your n54 intake manifold setup. i really wanna do it. have read everything i could find about it but i still don't know if its easily do able. please help
@@spikeblakemore yeah man what do you want to know?
Damn that souns really good! Hoping to see more of this build here. The noises this N52 can make are great!
No videos of the engine bay?
It sounds amazing
This would be considered an alpha N tune as well ? Wasn’t sure but wanted to ask, was curious how bob tuned it, was it strictly off the o2 and vanos readings or also off the Baro sensor as well
I can't wait for more info on this
330i injectors flow a smidge more than 328 or 128 injectors but also try the s65 injectors theyre the same size but flow more and your tune should compensate without having to do a retune
Any social media I can keep track of this build on?
I try to keep a post on 1addicts.com updated on how things are going. It's in the n52 engine forum. Once we get the tune sorted I'll have more here as well.
My car went to limp mode just by watching this video
My car would’ve overheated
🤣
HAHAHAHAAHAH
ITB n52? How did you worked around Valvetronic ?
Hopefully that's the beauty of this. We're still using the valvetronic to control the air flow, so there's no traditional ITB butterflies. In the end, trying to get it to where all you need to do is replace the manifold with trumpets, vent pcv to catch can, vent the purge solenoid to atmosphere, flash the custom tune and done. Will we get there...? Maybe.
@@Druwoods any update?
@@roninbushida1180 not any good ones. The tuner just couldn't get the stock dme to fuel it with any aggression. Too many safeties and backups disabled. Mechanically it worked fine, so it's possible with a custom ecu, but what isn't. It just got beyond what I was trying to accomplish. Car runs a n54 intake manifold for the time.
@@Druwoods any more updates? 😅 still running with n54 manifold? how many hp Gian?
Any updates?
No oil temp gauge?
Not on the 128. I use the torque pro app to monitor all my vitals while driving. Not sure why the couldn't include the temp gauge, but I kind of like the minimalist look. One day I may change out the cluster skins for something more interesting.
@@Druwoods damn that’s kinda annoying. I didn’t know that. My sisters 328 has the oil temp so I thought the 1 would have it. I agree on the minimalist look though, I swapped the gauge faces on my 335 for ones that only show mph and have dots every 5mph instead of the lines for every 2mph on the stock speedo.
When you get the chance would you mind posting the Dyno numbers and some DIY? I’m considering doing this for my 06 325i n52
I'm not holding out on anybody I promise. Once I'm sure it works proper and nobody is gonna ruin there engine I'll put it all out there. No dyno and engine tune still being adjusted as of now.
@@Druwoods Great! I look forward to it!
@@Druwoods I truly cannot wait to learn more about this. good luck and godspeed my dude
I see your throttle body flap is still opened but the air is not going through there anymore? I assume if the valvetronic system fails, the throttle body will no longer be able to control the air flow? Do you have any closer photos of what you have done? It sounds so good!
Totally correct, if valvetronic fails I have no backup and will be towing her home. It's a manual so clutch in, and a long hold of the start button will kill the motor. I'll do a proper breakdown video once the tune is solid. I'm glad people are enjoying this, thanks.
Sounds promising for decent numbers 👍
Really?? I thought our injectors were good up until 400 hp or something ?
Mine that are in there have 180,000 miles on them, so they're due I'd say. Maybe fresh stockers would do the job, but the FI guys like to switch to S65 injectors, so maybe.
Sublime!!!
Uncle you are famous
Sounds epic!
Wrong! sounds like an inline engine and all inline engines sound like vacuum cleaners.
@@Key-z2xif you're gay just say it
@@Key-z2xsuch an idiotic comment
You're putting a tremendous amount of stress on the bearings past 6500 rpm
Hopefully, right?
Then why would the red line be 7 thousand if 6500 is damaging it's fine
Just because you’re used to your 94 Saturn hitting and losing air at 4500 rpm
why does my stock 130i go to 7k then?
@@bslothed3211 these engines are not designed to go past 7000rpm. inline 6's do not like to rev high because of the heavy crankshaft. I had a N52 in my 2011 F10 528i which would consistently redline at just a hair past 7000 without much hassle. But every engine is in a different condition and should be treated with respect.
If you dont mind, what is the SES light code for?
It's running on a custom tune that Isn't finished yet so still a few codes and small issues. With no MAF, MAP, or throttle body it runs surprisingly well, so I'm okay with it for now.
