In this video we take my very clapped out ex farm truck/plow truck, my 1976 F100 custom, on Hot Rod Power Tour 2022. We met and became friends with @AutoAli and made some incredible memories sharing the road with thousands of other hotrodders, covering 2100 miles from start to finish! The truck has a 360 FE, 4 speed, and is four wheel drive; it's a riot to drive and certainly made the trip one ...

Id hate to see your joint, physical, condition when you actually get old. You are grunting and groaning like me and I'm about 1/2 way thru joint replacement. Left knee today as a matter of fact. Good luck man.
It is nice to see this car not sitting in a garage like it did for 30 years since I first saw it
Great editing work, great Carmen man work,.. we had a lot of fun making this video and all other 70 videos we have made
Good luck on your travels , glad to see others enjoying these wonderful cars. I talked you for a few at the hill climb. If ever need anything, parts exc. just holler. Happy motoring!
Another successful trip in the old ford and a second trophy. That’s a fantastic car. Great shenanigans
Very nice I have a 1986 Ford Ranger Turbo Diesel 4 x 4 bought it in 94
looks solid
It is very solid! Great start for a build considering some of the rust buckets I've worked with before.
Like the ranger.
It's gonna be a lot of fun!
@ShenanigansWrenchRepeat and a little bit of work. 🤣
To say the least! Hey, at least there will be little to no paint and body cause it's already so purdy!
You won a trophy and solved a fuel system issue. That’s a winner in my book.
Exactly! Also learned some valuable lessons.
Garage looks great.
It will be a great shop for awhile. I will build a real shop someday with enough room for a lift.
From one model A ow ner to anot her, Join a model a club, You will get a lot of help. Buy the Model A ford repair book volume 1, the red book by Les Andrews. When you start it put your spark lever up then pull it down when it starts. I bought my first Model A in 1959 when I was 16. Still have it and 3 others. I live in Tennessee and will offer help if you have questions. Congratulations and welcome to the best hobby in the world..
Awesome car I hope you fix it to stay original
No creature comforts like a ROOF. L.O.L. are you mad NO WAY. good on you for going on your first road trip in the A
I had a 84 Riviera Brand New back in the day! Wonderful Car ! Enjoy Yours!!
Beautiful Riviera 💜💜
Great shenanigans, each repair makes the car a little better than before. That’s going to be a great car.
I had a 93 I drove the shit out of 760 thousand miles. Got totaled insurance paid me good. Bought a better one 600 bucks only 300 thousand miles
Your first road trip video just warmed my heart! I like your determination, your perseverance, your never give up attitude, and optimizm ...inspite the rain, no roof, no rear window, seeping radiator, and one working headlight! You are quite the inspiration for the rest of us Model A ers! Thank you for posting... happy trails! 😊
At 65, & in the auto biz, I've had 4 Rivieras..65, 83, 85 & a 93..My favorite was the 85 White on white w/ red leather & factory Bose.. Beautiful classic & built Buick tough..Easy to work on also...Would buy another & there going up in value..Would be a very good investment for a young car guy..Just put it away for another 20 years & no telling what they will be worth.
With the greatest respect it would be helpful if you made more effort to steady your camera while filming.
Appreciate your feedback. Can you give me a time stamp on the video where the camera was unsteady so can check it out and work on that?
To cool thank you for sharing the adventure.
Thanks for riding along! I'm so excited to see you all on Power Tour!
Great first adventure, made it round trip under its own power! It’s amazing how reliable a ninety year old car can be. Looking forward to more shenanigan.
Check that fan for cracks. That’s the one weak point in the Model A engine. Those engines run forever, which is why the rest of the car looks so exhausted. Also, don’t downshift into first until you are almost completely stopped.
OMG, that guy wouldn’t shut up. I hate listening to car sellers’ BS.
He was a really nice guy. I won't hold it against him that he was really talkative.
If you get frustrated with it, walk away, work on some other project .
I had a 1982 Riviera for over 30 years drove it day and night for 30 years when I sold it it had 1 million 57.000 miles on it and bought a 1983 Riviera I love these cars.
Congrats
Hope your keyway turns out beneign. Get in touch with Paul Shinn he is a modle A guru!
Thats the important thing! Im so happy for you! Hope you and your friend able to lube her and get a roof on her and seats and head liner with interior trim and paint her. Way to go! Enjoy in good health!
Young fella says 1931. Seller said 1930 ?? Hood morning and we are having more snow.😊
don't know if you look at Merlins old school garage but he's done quite a few model A video's lately. good info. enjoyed good find. though I might like to have one till I saw you try to get out. then rethought. hell to be old. any way good fine and enjoyed
It's a little hard for me to get in and out. I gotta move the seat back about 2 inches and it'll be much better
Judge not, lest ye be judged.
I have known this car and the former owner his name was bill bratton and he passed away this time last year. His son sold it to the man you bought it from. I painted the wheels in 91 or 92 for bill. I don't think he drove a mile on them they were new tires then If you would like me to put you in contact with his son let me know
Did this car come from eastern Iowa?
So glad for you. Whatever you paid, the smile on your face tells all. Enjoy your new car and take all the time to put it back in top condition that it deserves. You have a piece of history. Can't wait for the finished product. Dave
VERY NICE PROYET
Did you lose your right leg?
Nope. I have athrogryposis. I was born with dislocated hips, bilateral clubbed feet, and clubbed left hand. Doctored at Shriners for my first 18 years. They got me put together enough to lead a normal life. I'm very blessed. A lot of people with my disability aren't so lucky.
Well, certainly a lot of shots of you ... Hopefully the other videos are more focused on the cars and useful guy stuff. Not really into the content on this vid. I mean a landau top isn't really research or technical. And yes, news break...old stuff is........old. However one thing we are learning about modern technology, it does not necessarily make new cars more reliable or repairable.
Not supposed to be useful. Supposed to be entertaining. If you aren't entertained it must not be your preference of viewing material which is totally fine 😁. To each their own!
Thank you
Very 'Kool" !! Model A fan here since a youngster in the early 1950's. LOL about how many times people forget to open the gas valve !! The other thing most people eventually forget is to turn around that timing pin when you set the timing. Usually found a few feet from where the "test drive" begins. ;o) You will find that most of the problems you experience on the Model A will be very basic in nature and you/we tend to "over-think" the possibilities during the diagnosis stage as evidenced with this axel key or the coil wire issues. You're lucky to have someone like Dave to accelerate and smooth the Model A learning process as Model A's are quite a bit different from what we have learned to be "the normal" driving scene. The first thing I would recommend is to install that front floor board so you can drive it like a "human". ;o) Any case, ENJOY !!! Lots of good Model A suppliers. Brattens and Berts among the best and most reliable.
First drive, first breakdown, first repair, first forget all in one trip lol
I can't wait to have that smile on my face like you have in that A.
What did it cost you?
You will likely need to back off the brake shoes to get the hub off. It takes a special wrench. Get one when you purchase the axle keys. you will need it eventually. Good luck! A's are fun to play with.
link to the rims and tires thinking of putting these on my ranger
They are "D Window" 15 inch rock crawler wheels. I didn't buy them new so I dont know anything else about them. The tires are Goodyear Wrangler Authority 31x10.50x15... I won't buy another set though, I'll run BFG TA KO2s from now on. Ran them on two other trucks over the years and have loved them. I'll run the Goodyears until they're done then buy the BFGs
That sure was a great price for your Model A and it's also great to have Dave's help 👍 best to you!
Great for you were able to find an A for that price. Nice to have you in the Model A community. Your going to love it. Thanks
So happy for your 31 Model A rescue! Lord bless you and your family.
