    I stupidly bought of these😢 its a lawn ornament, I also bench tested and got .1 amp at 24v. 2.4 watts. My 2 chinese Hawts make 100-150 watts in a stiff breeze and cost $150 australian. The Vevor one is also rubbish.

    if you ask ChatGPT which surface of windturbine you'll need to produce e.g. 600W you'll discover that it says (including losses) 90M² of swept air surface at a starting windrate of about 3m/s... and this little thingy does that with only this little surface? Wauw, what fantasy they have....

      Rotors of this size and especially of this type cannot produce such power, a rotor with this type of design does not reach high numbers of revolutions, if you then connect a generator that is not of the best quality it is impossible to produce anything significant!

      Hi null7969, with the Vevor 500 Watts at 1100 rpm I measured 124 watts.....it turned very fast, on the verge of collapse I think....😊

      @@sergioferretti ho visto in rete le ista 1500 lavorare davvero bene anche con i grid tie però Sergio considera 2 cose fondamentali.....devi abitare in una zona moooolto ventosa, ma molto.... e vedere bene dove e come installare la turbina! Se come me sei appassionato di eolico va' tutto bene, ma considera che con la stessa spesa ti fai un fotovoltaico che 9 su 10 renderà tanto tanto di più con un montaggio più semplice e una durata probabilmente più lunga dell'impianto.....

      Thanks, Miltonch76, yes for rotors of this size we are just under 1000 rpm in the best working conditions, in the external video with the vevor I recorded about 700 rpm with wind at 10 m/s.

    Are these results based on constant speed by use of say power drill ? My own experience is that when used with varying wind and direction the results are much lower if not poor. Thanks for video.

    Hey, i already built it, but after a few months the blades are wiggeling and I tried to unscrew some stuff but it didn't work, and i'm scared that sometime the blades will just fall off while it's spinning very fast or smth like that

      Strange that the blades move when they are stopped with self-locking nuts, it is more likely that it is the rotor that is vibrating.....

      With 5 m/s of wind you can reach around 500 revolutions per minute, they don't need very strong winds to spin, but to have significant yields you need expensive products, a quality turbine with dimensions like those in my videos costs over 1000 euros at least .....

    It looked like your simulated wind speed was only 8 mph. The one thing I've learned about wind generators is the biggest challenge especially for home built ones is keeping them together in high winds. They have a tendency to self destruct but also to perform well they do need to be mounted up as high as possible to be in the wind without obstruction. IF not you will achieve low performance no matter how well built.

    Thanks for showing this video. I've been a solar enthusiast for years and just recently started getting into wind turbines for my RV. Vevor is selling a 500-watt model on clearance for only $91 so they are not probably selling well. I already know wind doesn't produce much power but just wanted something to augment the system at nighttime. $91 is a cheap way to enter this interesting field.

    It must have the 6-diode bridge rectifier built in. The stator looks like a 3-phase wind, but, only two lead wires. Reading the voltage on the meter in DC suggests, the rectifier is built into the alternator. The best way to use this turbine, is with a pulse width modulator, that can load the alternator proportionate to voltage, emulating a pure resistance. The maximum current needs to be limited to 5% of the short circuit current, to allow the voltage to continually increase proportionately to rotor speed. The maximum current available is limited by the field strength of the magnets/stator impedance. The fact that it can produce high voltage at very low RPM means that the current is very limited. Connecting this straight to a battery would limit the current available, and create a minimum wind speed necessary to develop charging current. that current is greatly limited, because of magnetic field strength. A pulse width modulator can allow the voltage to rise, by reducing its duty cycle. That extra voltage times the current becomes wattage, which greatly increases amperage available to charge the battery, no matter what voltage the battery is. Since the maximum output of the alternator is the same, no matter what the battery voltage is, the wattage available from connecting the turbine direct, is exactly proportionate to battery voltage. The current (above a certain wind speed) is exactly the same. Without an electronic controller, don't look for more than~30 watts into a 12 volt battery, or 60 watts into a 24 volt battery.(roughly 1/10 its rated power!)

      Yes you connect all 3 red wires to the blue wires on the charge controller it comes with then the red & black wires coming out of the charge controller go to the battery. Be sure to have a fuse holder close to the POS terminal on the battery.

      The section depends on the length of the cable that goes from the turbine to the charge controller, the minimum section however is a 3x2.5 mm cable

    I have one of these exact controllers all wired up right just like your vide, but i get flashing error and no charging light + it dont show indicatord from spinning turbine to battery and from battery to load, though i have no load as i have 110amp fuse switch to inverter from battery bank. Running bank of 20 12v 60A cells Is my device defective have i missed something ?

    WICHTIG - DAMIT ES LÄUFT (über 100 WATT): ich habe frisch mir 2 stück gekauft von den 5 flügel turbinen ... WICHTIG: 1. der aufstellort ! im garten der läuft selten weil dort wenig wind ist - anders als ich dachte ! vorm haus an der terasse wo ich den anderen nur provisorisch befestigt hatte - der rent wie sau ;) UND ABER ich hatte nen langes kabel ca. 1,5mm2 .. hinter dem wind laderegler ein step up modul und dahinter einen 0815 solar laderegler - macht für mich mehr sinn - UND ABER es kamen bei starkem wind 13-16kmh meist 20 volt aber nur 0,1 bis 1,2 ampere ?! WEIL logisch ... kabel viel zu lang ! bzw. querschnitt viel zu klein ! UND VOR ALLEM diese angebliche BREMSE ?! da steht "unload" ? ob das wirklich eine BREMSE ist ? ;) WEIL ich hatte dann mal DEN AKKU vom SOLAR REGLER runtergenommen UND zack 20 VOLT mit 7 AMPERE !! ALSO nochmal SIEBEN AMPERE mit 20 volt = 140 WATT ;) (bei amazon hatte sich wer beschwert weil NUR 280 watt rauskamen ^^ und nen ingenieur meinte auf englisch die meisten haben die geräte falsch zusammengebaut ^^) ALSO: ich nehme stark an - es ist KEINE BREMSE sondern "überlastungschutz" mit akku gehen nur x ampere rein ! der rest wird "unload" also abgeriegelt ?! und dann müsste man auch MIT LAST TESTEN ! bei z.b. den MPPT solar ladereglern kommt erst richtig leistung UNTER LAST ! beispiel: akku voll oder fast voll und laut laderegler kommen nur 5 watt rein ... weil akku voll und keine last - sobald ich last draufhänge geht der laderegler auch hoch ;) also: KABEL kürzer oder dicker ! optimal: phasenumwandler OHNE wind laderegler ! dazu: step up modul (mind. 10 ampere) und DANN das WATTMETER und dahinter LAST ! nur so kann man "wirklich" testen .. die akkus alleine haben ja schon "begrenzte" ladeströme ... und wie gesagt: OHNE AKKU am solar laderegler kamen bei mir "locker" 140 watt also 20 volt hochgeregelt über das step up modul und dazu diese 7 ampere ... so berichten auch andere leute bei denen die räder laufen - sobald das "gleichstrom" kabel (wechselstrom hat nicht so hohe verluste; die 3 phasen direkt vom windrad !) zu lang ist oder zu dünn, wird es "nichts werden" !!! den fehler hab auch ich gemacht obwohl ich ex elektriker bin etc. pp und es besser wissen müsste .. ps: auf ebay kleinanzeigen unter dem suchbegriff "PTC SOLAR HEIZUNG" hab ich nen experiment eingestellt .. dort kann man gut anzeigen schalten für ERFAHRUNGSAUSTAUSCH !!! einfach mal schauen oder selbst solche anzeigen dort erstellen .. LOHNT SICH !!! man findet gute kontakte und hilfreiche tipps ;)

ALSO nochmal SIEBEN AMPERE mit 20 volt = 140 WATT ;) (bei amazon hatte sich wer beschwert weil NUR 280 watt rauskamen ^^ und nen ingenieur meinte auf englisch die meisten haben die geräte falsch zusammengebaut ^^) ALSO: ich nehme stark an - es ist KEINE BREMSE sondern "überlastungschutz" mit akku gehen nur x ampere rein ! der rest wird "unload" also abgeriegelt ?! und dann müsste man auch MIT LAST TESTEN ! bei z.b. den MPPT solar ladereglern kommt erst richtig leistung UNTER LAST ! beispiel: akku voll oder fast voll und laut laderegler kommen nur 5 watt rein ... weil akku voll und keine last - sobald ich last draufhänge geht der laderegler auch hoch ;) also: KABEL kürzer oder dicker ! optimal: phasenumwandler OHNE wind laderegler ! dazu: step up modul (mind. 10 ampere) und DANN das WATTMETER und dahinter LAST ! nur so kann man "wirklich" testen .. die akkus alleine haben ja schon "begrenzte" ladeströme ... und wie gesagt: OHNE AKKU am solar laderegler kamen bei mir "locker" 140 watt also 20 volt hochgeregelt über das step up modul und dazu diese 7 ampere ... so berichten auch andere leute bei denen die räder laufen - sobald das "gleichstrom" kabel (wechselstrom hat nicht so hohe verluste; die 3 phasen direkt vom windrad !) zu lang ist oder zu dünn, wird es "nichts werden" !!! den fehler hab auch ich gemacht obwohl ich ex elektriker bin etc. pp und es besser wissen müsste .. ps: auf ebay kleinanzeigen unter dem suchbegriff "PTC SOLAR HEIZUNG" hab ich nen experiment eingestellt .. dort kann man gut anzeigen schalten für ERFAHRUNGSAUSTAUSCH !!! einfach mal schauen oder selbst solche anzeigen dort erstellen .. LOHNT SICH !!! man findet gute kontakte und hilfreiche tipps ;)
