      1 cup warm water, 3 table spoons instant potato flakes and 3/4 of a cup of sugar. Stir together and cover loosely. Leave sitting out at room temperature. Discard a cup of starter in 3 days and feed again the same amount you started it with. Then store in fridge. Discard or use a cup every 3 to 5 days then feed again. Hope this helps you.

    So you know what I think would be a good idea and good for all of us?? Is the viewers always see the creator well creating whatever they do cooking, cleaning,etc I would like to see a video that’s an actual full length video of the creators fails instead of wins! We all fail sometimes and it’s actually failing that makes us try harder and get better until it’s a win! Creators often seem like they’re on a different planet or something as we watch them knowing we don’t have $600 for a robot litter box, home remodels, and so on especially when they have their “influencer/creator life. Idk why it just made me think it puke help remind us that it’s ok and to get back up and try again!

      I agree! I may not show every fail…but I definitely try to portray authentic real life. It’s very discouraging for mom’s and homemakers to watch a “perfect” video. It looks nice and all but it’s very unrealistic!

    This video is just delightful! I homeschooled my four girls from 2003-2020. Your home reminds me of that beautiful season of my life. The bookshelf, the yummy homemade snacks, Daddy coming home in the middle of the day (such a treat!), littles running around, curriculum that we all enjoyed so much, etc. It’s a wonderful life you are living. And, btw, bathroom time was positively sacred to me then. The girls AND husband knew unless there was a DIRE emergency, don’t bother Mama while she’s in the bathroom.😂 If I had had a smart phone then, I would ABSOLUTELY have been meal planning or researching something. • @LittleTennesseeHome
      @LittleTennesseeHome 3 месяца назад

      I do this if I don’t want to accumulate too much extra because the larger amount of starter you have the more you need to feed it. When I didn’t make bread as often I would feed it less so I wouldn’t have as much starter to feed later. But now I bake so much that sometimes I feed it triple 😅

    I love the idea of homemade kind or Cliff bars. We buy both of those items, but it sounds like I might be able to make these recipes occasionally from things we have on-hand to save myself the money or a trip to the store. I also really appreciate your comment about not feeling mom guilt. I have been trying so hard to make more things from scratch because my son has liver disease and can't have many processed foods, unless they have natural ingredients. On the other hand, we have three children with special needs and I feel part of my job as a mom is to teach them independence, such as which foods they can buy at the store ready-made and still eat healthily. I have been so torn about things like buying processed snacks like those lately, but this helped me let go a little bit of the guilt and just take a breath and know I'm doing the best I can for my family, which might look different than someone else.

    • @LittleTennesseeHome

    Do you leave your starter sitting out all the time. I usually keep mine in refrigerator until I make bread. Also when I make bread I take out of refrigerator, feed it and l let it sit out then take 1 cut starter and make bread then replace starter in refrigerator until I feed again to make bread .

    • @LittleTennesseeHome

      I do leave my starter sitting out most of the time. I occasionally stick it in the fridge. If I know I’m not going to be using it for several days or if we’re going to be out of town. I bake pretty often, but I only feed once or twice a week, usually feeding double or triple the feeding amount.

    Thank you for verifying that this recipe actually makes 2 standard loaves and that your flour is packed into the measuring cup. After making the starter and feeding it I decided to make a single loaf. I weighed my flour (120g per cup) and mixed up the dough. It didn't take me long to realize that something wasn't right. I eventually added a bit more flour and kneaded it in. It made a short loaf but it was beautiful and light and tender. ❤ Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe. Meagan is was one of your early group members and have learned so much from you. Your understanding of how important your role is to your family shows your wisdom beyond your age i just watched your video on a day in your life it is so sweet. I just started a new starter. I had circumstances that made my feeding schedule come to a halt and am so glad to get it going again. Thanks for all your help and recipes.

      Yes! Start with a small amount maybe 1/2 cup and feed it 1cup water, 3/4 cups sugar and 3 T potato flakes and over a few feedings it should be converted to a potato flake starter!
