Kevin’s death was total karma. It was an accident on his part for passing out but the universe sent him up flames. I loved that they kept it dark and killed his character. Now I never thought that Allison and Patty or anything more than platonic friends, but I did find myself wondering how are they gonna date (other people) if they’re dying alone together?? So there is something to be said for that speculation. Like, never be in a serious relationship with someone else. 🤷‍♀️

I absolutely loved this show. The transition between sitcom and drama is something we've never seen before. In the beginning, I always wondered what caused the transition. After seeing that break-up seen, I think I figured it out. Allison is traumatized by what a monster Kevin really is so the sitcom esthetic is like a coping mechanism for her to get through the day. I know, that doesn't fully hold up cause there were sitcom scenes with Kevin where Allison wasn't there, but those scenes were probably more for the audience. That break-up scene was powerful. We've only seen Kevin in the drama setting once near the end of season 1. As she started to break up with him, I already knew it would change. What I didn't know was how terrifying it would be. When the audience in the sitcom setting was cheering then the sound started to go higher pitch then just stop abruptly when it became a drama was jarring and disturbing. Based on the theory I had about Allison's coping mechanism, you could say that was her finally letting it go and facing Kevin as he really was. And in the end, the show lived up to it's title. Kevin f**ked himself. It probably could have afforded to go on 1 more season. The stuff with Allison faking her death went by a bit fast. But still a satisfying finale. I hope they do more shows like this.

this actor is so good! I was scared when they flipped to reality

While it's a shame we only got two seasons of this gem (ironically, the same number of seasons that _Kevin Can Wait_ survived, lol). I really loved the gritty realism of this series. I always wondered what would happen if we saw these sitcoms through the lens of the long-suffering wife. It's poetic justice how Allison, in the end, didn't have to really get her hands dirty. Kevin became his own worst enemy & his own permanent undoing.

I wish they would have shown the real Kevin a little more than a few moments.

"There is literally nothing in there way, stopping them from being together" -- except the fact that Allison is straight. Friends hold hands sometimes. It is only in societies where there is strong homophobia that two friends can't hold hands and be physically affectionate without being suspected or accused of being gay.

FINALLY!!! Someone who acknowledges and appreciates Max's character & storyline as well as her best friend! I'm excited to check out all of your reactions to this show! Damn good analysis of Carson not being ready to again face the realities of her life once her husband comes back, so she escapes to go explore. Never thought of it or heard it put that way.

What was the fanfiction that you referred to where Ava resurrected Bea?

As a bi woman, I don't consider their relationship queer-baiting. If they had forced Allison into SAM'S arms, maybe. But, she and Patty end up side-by-side, holding hands, and agreeing that they'll die [alone] together. It had a very "and history will say they were roomates" vibe to it, and we all know they WEREN'T roomates. That and Allison's poor, burned up "bi pride" winter coat did it for me. I feel like if they had a passionate kiss or a sweeping love confession, it would've been too heavy-handed and betrayed the tone of the show. I am far from the authority on what is and isn't queer baiting but, at least Patty got to be canonically gay and express that openly; a vast improvement over shows that paired two people with obvious chemistry with other (different gender) people ... lookin' at you, Voltron.

Kevin's always had a luck factor. If something is in Kevin's way the universe get's rid of it. This time, kevin was in his own way and the universe got rid of it.

Totalmente de acuerdo contigo en cuanto a la perspectiva de la serie, no es una serie al uso, sino una serie bien trabajada en muchos aspectos y que como tú comentas el hecho de que sus localizaciones sean mayoritariamente en España, pues me sorprendió gratamente. Por cierto, se ha dado ya la noticia que anda circulando de que se ha renovado por fin para la tercera temporada que supongo se la última pero que nos da el cierre más que merecido de esta gran historia 🎉 Por último recomendarte la serie "see" que cuenta con sólo 3 temporadas completas onswa que sería una mini serie, la cual contiene una pareja queer y que al igual que con warrior nun, se trabaja muy bien, escenografía, mensaje, actuación etc...

He llegado por casualidad a tu canal, recuperando imagines de esta serie para recordar y a la vez cabrearme...y porque me gusta el modo en el que comentras y tratas las series y en concreto ésta. De un tiempo a ésta parte parece que todas las series de género fantástico con buenas tramas y actores jóvenes en alza que se dejan la piel y nos regalan unas quimicas en sus personajes espectaculares, las cancelan y no por falta de audiencias y encima dejando todo inconcluso... demasiadas cuestiones en el aire con la advertencia de lilith de guerra que se avecina, y el brillo final de la espada que indica que el halo no está destruido y deja la puerta abierta a creer que pueda aún estar en ava. Ojalá dejasen de retirar series como warrior nun, the wilds, willow, first kill.... es desesperante

I think Kevin was terrifying even in the sitcom world. He spent all of their savings and she had nothing left. Didn’t need to wait until he punched the wall to see him as a monster.

I am very impatiently waiting for the reactions of seasons 2 and 3 dead to me

We know that Patty has romantic feelings for Allison, but I like how they left it ambiguous as to whether or not Allison has any feelings for Patty. Maybe hold hands and walk off into the sunset together, nd that will be great. Or maybe she just leaned on a friend she admired when she needed a friend most, and that will be fine too. Kevin is dead regardless so she's finally free to start living her own life.

This is a bizarre review of a decent show.

She's living a life of comfort, luxury and ease unparalleled in the history of the world, thanks in large part to work of her husband and then decides to murder him because "feelings". Is that the gist of it?

I loved watching and listening to your input on each episode. You expressed a lot of the thoughts i had while watching the series alone. I feel like reya is someone who is similar to adrial but stronger and has more power. My theory is that she is the one that is trying to cause the holy war and that everything that happened was all in her plan. I mean, why would the portal stay open long enough for ava to be sent in. I feel like she is trying to convince ava to be on her side because she may not be able to use the halo herself. Like she used michael to make them think that the divinium bomb inside him would kill adrial when in truth it doesnt. Its like reya planned for her to be hurt so that they would send her to reya's realm and in there she can control or convince ava of the truth that she wants her to think.

They said Kevin was drunk and passed out. He didn't mean to kill himself.
