Having some trouble knocking the first pin out. Any tips?
Eh, I’d rather pay $40 each time and have it done professionally and look prefect
How did you get such a clean cut removing that center piece on the handguard?
Had to return my hunter stock and replace it. two screws came stripped
Looks good 👍! I did mine last weekend. This is the best looking DIY mod for the Saiga 12 and saves a ton of weight to add a light and forward grip. This was helpful, but I didn’t do the drill and tap. Good enough 😝.
Very tight process the only thing I’d do differently is I’d use the biggest stencils first that way you get less base color show through and you get better over lap when your applying the last of the smaller stencils on top of the bigger stencil layers
In case anyone needs to know this, a 7/64" Allen wrench is what you need. If you don't have one, borrow it from someone and/or buy your own Allen wrench set!
Is it 'really' possible to oversand the channel, as the only place the action/barrel will be (or should be) making contact is the action touching the chassis beginning around the recoil lug?
Wow I’m just getting into all this stencils stuff I used natural plant leaves years ago but this vinyl stuff is crazy real Thanks for the video Even though it’s 2 years old
It must be a wonky one. I have a metric and American hex key set and none of them fit.
So proud of this upgrade kit, sincerely Rube Goldberg. This should be the next MIT RG Contest…
If I am buying and paying for a good magazine why do I have to spend more money to make it work? Does this make sense?
It works for Ruger guns perfect. The Zip is a gun made by another manufacturer that uses Ruger magazines, but it needs more spring pressure to function more reliably
I thought it had to be engraved by a qualified gun smith or gun store. Can I engrave my own 80% builds? I have about 13 so it’s going to cost a lot to get them all engraved.
Look up the ATF requirements for NFA engraving requirements for what you need
Hey pal, do you know if this stock can be adapted to the Savage Axis SA?
I wouldn't know
I wish there was a video to show if there was a barrel on the stock. Because the instructions it came with to remove the barrel are crap! I can't find a video anywhere. I want to install to mount the MS1 sling. It requires you to disassemble the barrel from the stock. I already put the plug into the butt of the stock to take the MS1 sling. Next you have to disassemble and mount the bracket to take the other end of the sling. But this required you to drill a hole into the middle of 1 of the slots you choose to mount the piece. Also there is really to way to tell if you mlok bipods nut are seeded the correct way without removing the barrel and disassembly of some of the stock as in your video.
We should not have to upgrade nothing. They should make a good reliable mag......
It is a reliable mag for the guns it was designed for (Ruger). The kit in the video is to make it function better with the Zip
Don’t understand the blue tape stenciled it looks like there isn’t/ design all way thru it, looks like blue tape stuck to a stencil. Do you cut the design out in the blue tape? That kinda threw me off, rest I understand I’ve done several myself I can’t post pics nor do I know how to make a video abs post it in utube or I would do one. Don’t hv a lot of money to spend on video equipment that’s another hobby and my wife bitching about all the hobbies I’m doing now lol Always wondered about air dry duracoat I use cerakote and hv to bake it on. Just seems like it would be better than air dry wonder how air dry holds up to cerakote? Only thing I don’t bake are optics great vid a few things I couldn’t understand like the name of other stencils otherwise good vid bud
Some the blue stencils are a different brand, so they look like solid blue tape. The yellow stencils with blue tape are to protect from overspray. I'm always budget minded as well- I film with a phone and made a stand for it out of scrap wood to film with. Same reason for repurposing the small stencils as female stencils- don't have to buy as many sets. I don't abuse my things, so air dry Duracoat works well. I have had others Cerakoted to hold up to field abuse when needed. I do Duracoat on designs I want to do myself
Don’t drill into the receiver of the gun, pin the rail inside the hand gaurd and it will hold tension when you put the front screw back in, NO NEED TO MODIFY THE SHOTGUN IN ANY WAY MY DUDE
Does this cure stove pipes?
Link to buy this ??
They aren't made anymore
Looks GREAT, love it!
So this engraves at the legally required three thousandths of an inch?
The highest setting does 1mm. .003" equals .0762mm, so it should be good.
You are my hero. I am rebarreling and just ran into this. Wasn't real sure the Magpul could be modified.
Thanks for posting your invaluable Magpul Hunter Stock video its genuinely useful compared to the hundreds of worthless Magpul Hunter Stock installation videos out there. Really appreciate your effort to post a technical breakdown of the stock that not even the Manufacture Magpul provides which is a shame. I recently installed a Magpul Hunter stock on a RUGER AMERICAN rifle and was really upset over how lousy there paperwork is with the stock and manufacture website offered little additional info. I want to install a rear lower Sling stud for a monopod for long range shooting and will be monitoring your channel for sure.
Fucking Beautiful! Exactly what i was looking for, thank you so much!
Great work. I can see where patients is a virtue with this paint job.
Thank you.
Should be torqueing those bolts putting it back together
That's what I thought! But to what specs?
Recording what you torque all those screws down to would at least be helpful for later. I'm sure if one spent a couple minutes searching you could locate specs for the screws, and what materials you are screwing into. Some of those screws could have an effect on accuracy... I'll be using this later. I bought the American Hunter in 6.5, and I am experiencing some feeding issues so I'm working on a plan to resolve that. Nice work, very informative video! 👍
Need to go over how you did that paint job! Looks slick!
Little late, but here you are ruclips.net/video/ETLZtSR9LCk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/8gCq3PgA3jw/видео.html
I'd love to find some replacement grip panels.
I just got one yesterday for engraving ar 15 lowers
Gone are the days of throwing a leaf on the stock and blasting the olé rattle can. Digital patterns have been proven to work best, and darker color scheme as well. Dropping large $ on a riffle build should have have a good finishing touch, regardless of it’s toolbox function out there. Thanks for the attention to detailed video,,,,,,, Semper Fi,,,
Is this stock compatible with M24 SWS barrel or I have to do the same process as you do??
M24/mtu is nearly the same barrel size only difference M24 is .900 at the muzzle set to 24 inches MTU is .930 at the muzzle at 24 inches The tapper is nearly the same as well There is some difference in muzzle diameter when you change sizes but the taper remains the same
looking damn professional
About how long do you wait between put on stencils and spraying additional coats. Thanks
I did 2 colors a day- one in the morning and one in the evening. That gives it enough time to dry and apply stencils.
Thanks for this, you saved me from having to get a new set of sights entirely. I was wondering how to disassemble the rear sight to install a low light rear sight on to match my Blitzkrieg Components low light front sight post in my MBUS front sight.
That came out great man , I’m almost finished with my charger 22 build . Are you doing a form 1 for the SBR stamp ? Also which stock is that ? Looks great 👍🏻
Yes it is a Form 1 SBR. AGP Arms stock. It is a blem from the first batch they ever did I think. I couldn't tell anything wrong with it.
Can it do images?
It has a setting that looks like it should. Haven't tried it. I don't think it would be very good quality for images, but I could be wrong.
What is the software that you are using? And what type of bit does it use to etch vs spin
Software came with the machine. Don't know what type of bit it is. It doesn't spin, it makes a bunch of dimples
I’m just getting into using stencils, I’ve done solid cerakote jobs. But for some reason I’m a little nervous or overwhelmed by it. You do great work though. How much practice or long have you been doing stencil work?
I've done it just a few times. It's not hard- just practice before you do something you care about. Different materials and smooth vs rougher surfaces will change the results. Just keep that in mind. Don't get discouraged if some practice pieces don't come out well. Sometimes it's trial and error
I purchased this same set up and im having a few issues, would you be able to answer some questions for me?
Just saw your comment. Did you get it figured out?
Did you get 4oz of each paint? Did you have any extra?
Yeah, I think they were 4 oz bottles. It was pushing it doing this many pieces
Absolutely beautiful choice in colors
Thanks! After watching I was able to figure out how to make it easier to switch between apertures! (lightly sand the bottom front of them so they are more rounded)
I love the diy attitude you have. What ever it takes to get it done.
how small can you go on the engraving.
I don remember for sure. It'll depend on the material. Soft material will mushroom out more, so you don't want to go as small. I'd say 1/8" tall or so
@@skidmorecreek6267 main reason to purchase is NFA engraving . thank you for responding
I know this is an old video but do you know the diameter of the plunger? I have the butt stock on an archangel pro mag product and I think the recess is larger than the plunger causing movement. Thanks in advance.
9mm
Nice
The allen wrench is worth more than the gun.
Thank you for this video.
