You know what? I didn't mention another source of annoyance......my dog! I get irritated at her when she chews up a pillow (she loves to do it) and when she doesn't come when called (she thinks keep away is a fun way to play). Can you think of something besides people or animals that get you riled up? 🙂

Here's my story on empty nest. My hubby and I had two teenage sons (both in high school) when my hubby's work transferred him to another state. So we moved and it was a blessing in disguise. God provided a ton of support in our new home to help us with our troubled teens. We bought a house after renting for a year and a half. Ten months after we bought our house our oldest son moved out weeks after graduating. It was traumatic for me, but I still had my other son. Six months later our 2nd son moved out, which was even more traumatic. After that, I spent many months sleeping on the living room sofa having the TV lull me to sleep. I went through a surgery with a long recovery. A year after my oldest son left, he got married. Six months later I was a grandmother. After that I went on a trip to Germany which was wonderful. And after that I started a daycare business in my home. It was so nice to have children in my home again and a very blessed time as I got to take care of my grandson.

Posting this since a lot of parents have their children heading off to college this time of year! We miss our children when they go off in the world. It is ROUGH! I don't focus in this video on how to deal with the intense emotions but share my thoughts on living with family in a bustling home and then having it become very empty. Share what you are going through in the comments. If you have dealt with the situation and come through it in the past, please share.

I’m wearing my exercise shorts and sports top > just got done with my walk. Yes I use to wear sweatpants and a lot of oversized clothes ( I still like) and going in to store I think they thought I was a thief and now I be sure to smile , wear nice jeans and a fitted top, but confidence does help. My style is mixing feminine with masculine but , classic, comfortable .

Look for Dr. Ellie Phillips here on YT, she has an amazing mouth care system that really works. My oral health was declining even though I was getting regular cleanings, flossing, water pick, etc. I've been following Dr. Ellie's mouth care system for 6 months and doing much better.

One of my hobbies is collecting and wearing wigs. I am trying to work with this one so I can wear it! It was way too curly in a wave pattern I didn't like when I purchased it, and has stick straight bangs and a messy crown but I keep plodding along and some day am optimistic I will get it to be one I want to actually wear! Watch me try to straighten it in the continuing saga.....😉

I am 61 and needing to change careers after 10 years in real estate due to the extremely difficult market conditions. I’ve applied for at least 200 jobs since November and experienced a lot of ageist remarks when I went on interviews. Since I’m trying to change fields at this age to fully support myself I’ve applied for any type of office entry-level position and no matter where I applied there has been between 100 and 300 applicants for each position in Columbus Ohio. I finally will be starting a new job soon working in a wellness center. I discovered this one on Facebook when the practitioner I used to go to posted that she needed some office help soon. I am very grateful to finally have a new opportunity and I hope I can add more hours to it since it’s part time and does not offer health insurance.

Really great topic. I wanted to be a minister at one point, and I also thought I would be a music teacher. None of that happened, but I am content. Awesome video. 👍🎶

I have many interests: music, theology, religion, spirituality, history and on and on. I am in my 60's and have never done anything like anyone else. Corporate america was an awful experience for me but kept me alive. A good friend of mine says he sees some people in their 70's returning to the University and some are pursuing doctorates, I might just do the same. Life is short, have fun!

As a little girl in elementary school I wanted to be a secretary. My Dad didn't like that, he wanted me to dream bigger. But that is what I ended up doing. I really enjoyed it because I was naturally gifted with organizational skills. After doing that work, I went on to work with children, which was the second job I wanted to have. I retired from working with children in 2017. In 2019, my hair began falling out and I was really struggling with my health. I found out I had pancreatic insufficiency. Then I got "C" and I've never gotten back to my usual self since. Its been a struggle.

I am not content. I was a few years ago but since the pandemic i have just been kinda blah. I returned to working in the public one month before it started and I miss my life very much so, before it.

I'm a 68-year-old woman. I walk 6 - 8 miles every day on the treadmill--8 miles on days I don't go to the gym and 6 miles on gym days. I also add 2 miles on the exercise bike once I finish my treadmill mileage. 3 days a week I go to the rock climbing gym and climb the walls for 2 hours. I started climbing when I was 64 and have been climbing 3 times a week for 4.5 years. I don't look my age (I dye my white hair) and other gym goers probably think I'm in my 40s. (No wrinkles.) I weigh 5 pounds less than I did in high school and 3 pounds less than when I was in college (and when I got married at 35). The only medication I take is for low thyroid. I promised myself I would not be a fat, old woman, and I'm keeping that promise to myself. I avoid carbs and sweets. We eat vegan and vegetarian dinners often as well as fish. I haven't bought red meat in many months. I've also been intermittent fasting since February. I enjoy being slim and am proud of my figure in spandex body-hugging leggings for gym workouts. I refuse to be "old."

Walking the dog twice a day, biking, some weights, guitar for a hobby. Just stay active! Walking is great!
