Nice neat move! Another one for the repertoire. Learning never stops 🤣
So far this is the easiest one - Thank you for sharing
A record that would suit Pretzel Hip Bumps is surely The Bump, by Kenny 🤣😂
What a lovely neat little move! Very clearly explained and demonstrated. It's one of those moves I want to learn and try out on the dancefloor straightaway! I shall try to remember it as a Pretzel with two bumps in the middle 😂Nice bit of homework for the end of the week. I had my doubts though when I saw the name of the move, but when I saw the video was not too long I guessed it couldn't be too complicated.
Very nice move which looks straightforward and doable! Some straightforward homework to start the week!
Enjoy!
Very very nice! It's another one of those moves that one just has to include in one's repertoire! Even before you recommended it after the demonstration and explanation of this move, I was already thinking it would be useful to revise Sway Walk Turns which is a similar move and shares a similar technique. PS hard homework for Thursday, learning and relearning never stops 😂🤣
It's a great move, glad you like it. If you and your partner have reliable technique this will work fine but on the flip side if you have something shaky technique wise this may well show it up (that's useful too though, can't fix something if you don't know it's broke). Hope you have fun with it.
Interesting move, almost not modern jive/ceroc, ideal for Chubby Checker, The Twist! PS I thought before seeing the video this was going to be The Twist as in the move which is called The Sit in Salsa, a cross between a lean and a dip. I was surprised that it was Chubby Checker's Twist!
Great thing about Modern Jive is the amazing amount of freedom in what you can do.. as a result you can find things from all over, often unexpected things, that you can incorporate and will work great. The challenge is to try things out and see what works well for you and your partner, if it's fun and leadable/followable why not? Cheers, N
Thank you for posting this dance. I'v still got a lot to learn 🙂
You're welcome 😊
Nice move, with an interesting technique. Bit of footwork too, which is useful for expanding one's knowledge. But a lot going on there, and I'm still grappling with Colombian Turns! So I don't think I'm ready to get on this train just yet😂 PS homework is very hard this week!
After a day of studying this video, thinking about it, and mimicking the move, I think I understand what's happening! Now I need to make sure I remember and don't forget 😂 I'm hoping Colombian Turns will help with other moves.
This is one of those annoying moves that I like so much, but find so incredibly difficult to understand and learn. I'm a slow learner so this is going to take a long time to sink in! One comment regarding the description of what to do. The first time you turn the lady it's anticlockwise, the second time, going back the other way, it's clockwise. But in both occasions you call it a turn. Usually you refer to the anticlockwise turn as a return, and the clockwise turn as a turn. So I find the explanation of this move confusing. And while step behind step in front is a familiar instruction for the Colombian, I find the term in sync puzzling, so more confusion! As with other things, it's quite difficult for someone who understands something complicated to explain it to someone who doesn't understand it! At the end of the day, as always, it's up to me to study the video and your verbal explanation in detail and repeatedly in order to understand and learn the move. I thought First Move Traverse and Circular Colombian were difficult, but I managed to get my head round them, but Colombian Turns is one or more steps beyond them in difficulty, reminding me of some of your Tango moves which I gave up trying to learn 😂
That's an amazingly super move, but also amazingly complex and complicated, especially for those of us who find footwork difficult and challenging! But it's such a fabulous move that I'm determined to learn it and improve my footwork. It's the sort of move that in class can shatter your confidence and leave you dejected. So glad I'm familiar with the Colombian! PS this week's homework is very hard. I knew it was going to be difficult when I saw the length of the video 6:9, much longer than the usual 3 or 4😂
I like this move as I feel for my lady when she is spinning all the time. Im on the look out for moves that calm it down a bit then I think you can punch the fast or more technical moves. Cheers
Glad you like it.
Just watching this excellent video again after having been seen Tango ochos demonstrated at ceroc class last night. It was a confidence shattering experience, so I'm returning to your videos to get back on track and regain confidence!😂 I can see that being able to do the Full Tango Box with a lady on the dancefloor would be a great pleasure and achievement! So it's still on the to do list 😂
Very nice. But although the move seems easy and straightforward from the visual demonstration and verbal explanation, we would still need to practise it to make it look as relaxed and elegant as in the video. It's another challenge for those of us who find footwork difficult!
Nice straightforward move, nicely demonstrated and explained. I particularly like the explanation of the physics of the Pushspin technique which will also be useful in other moves. I think I'll keep this in my repertoire along with Accordion American Spins which is also a right to right move! PS fairly doable homework this week which won't leave my head in a spin😂
Nice move, from one year ago. Surprised and disappointed that I missed it when it first came out. The Mirrored Sway is quite attractive. Glad I have some experience of it from Basket Into Mirrored Sway. Some useful footwork for those of us who find footwork extremely challenging!
Nice move, but rather a lot to remember. And a whole new area of combs to explore, discover and learn. Difficult homework this week! Could be some time before I'm able to attempt this. PS will these combs have us tearing our hair out 😂🤣
What a super combination of the two moves. Glad I have already learned and been doing the Octopus Swirl, but I need to revise the Neck Wrap Push Spin. Look forward to trying this combination out soon. Reminds me of another super move, the Octopult. PS more homework for Thursday! Learning and relearning never stops 😂
Thank you !
Interesting and useful introduction to some more footwork, the hook step. Great for those of us who struggle with footwork!
Really nice move. Yet another one to learn for the repertoire! Look forward to trying this out on Friday! PS learning never stops 🤣😂
Nice move. I remember though learning before the pandemic lockdown, a move called Sway With Walk where instead of both walking with the same feet, you walk a mirror image, ie inner foot, outer foot. Both look good and work. Great expansion of learning and repertoire, so you can find moves to suit the music that's playing, even if you don't like the music!😅
Really fantastic move, very nicely explained and demonstrated, but quite a bit to learn and remember, so it could be some time before I can test this out on the dancefloor! Particularly like the way you change sides at the end, passing back to back. PS I remember learning Wrap In Roll Through from your video of that move and enjoying trying it out on the dancefloor. So I may be part way there 😂
Quite nice, and quite complex! Reminds me a bit of Double Combs, a slightly simpler move! I think I'll leave this till a later time.
Very nice, and deceptively simple. But to do it anywhere as elegantly and smoothly as you, is not going to be easy!
See what I mean?!?!? Mangle? These tutorials are so misleading..
I thought this was a tutorial for breaking someone’s neck. Thanks for wasting my time.
Very nice, but very athletic too! Spinning/turning the lady by means of your hips Shirley Bassey style is pretty difficult! I tried a Hip Spin several times and failed miserably🤣 PS Hip Wurlitzer has elements of the Catapult Shoulder Cross which I'm comfortable with, so I might be able to progress to the Hip Wurlitzer one day!
Very picturesque ❤
Thank you kindly.
Nice, but tricky!
Well put. Cheers Terry.
Thanks. By a strange coincidence in class last night we did a double Shoulder Roll into a Twist which was tricky too! I've always thought Shoulder Rolls were potentially dangerous for the lady, ever since I learned the Extended Double Handed Basic before the pandemic. You have to give them plenty of elbow room, otherwise the elbow makes the move resemble something from karate or kung fu 🤣😂
A lovely move. The walking works quite well taking one step per beat instead of two steps per beat, making it a nice stroll. Thanks for the great tuition.
Hi Martin, you are spot on.. two steps per beat is quite quick.. though it feels nice to slower tunes. I use a single step per beat on tunes faster than lesson speed and also when I teach the move in class, the extra time gives students a chance to get the technique and shapes right so they can do it well if they do speed it up. Thank you for the feedback. Best wishes, Nelson
Very nice move, with a tango look and feel about it. Quite a bit going on and to remember. However, very clearly explained and demonstrated, so we should be able to get it right!
Best of luck with it, it's a solid move with a good track record of going well even when the lady has never seen it before. Best wishes, Nelson
@@worldoffloorcraft7404 thanks!
Super move, nicely demonstrated and very clearly explained. Quite a lot to learn and remember, and the long name almost put me off even watching the video! More homework 🤣
It's a nice move and I'm with you on the name.. the disadvantage of the naming convention I use is that it produces some names that sound less like a title and more like a description. On the other hand it tells you what to do and in what order.. so when a student asks you about a move you taught them 10 years ago you can work out what it is and hopefully how to help them! Have a great day Terry.
@@worldoffloorcraft7404 thanks! Yes indeed, on the plus side long names which describe the move and what to do can be very useful!
I love this move! Didn't know you could use tandem turns in Modern Jive. Have to go see if I can make this work now and use it in all my walks if it does. Thank you World Of Floorcraft.
You are spot on.. in other dances this movement is called a Tandem Turn. Lots of different names for things once you start looking around. As for using it in other walks we will show you some tricks in upcoming videos to help with that.. this one was published first because I think it's the easiest of the family to learn and so the best place to get some experience before trying the others. Thanks for the feedback David.
Super move which I really like, but which looks quite difficult. Very nicely demonstrated and clearly explained. Some important footwork in there too, which is good practice for those of us who find footwork extremely challenging!😂 Looking forward to testing this out on the dancefloor. PS thanks for the safety warning, it's so important to avoid hitting each other!
Glad you like it. It is quite tricky at full speed, at least to start with I would advise taking a single step per beat, you can always speed up later when you have a feel for it. We'll show some other moves this turn can be used in fairly soon. Happy Dancing, Nelson
Very nice move, nicely demonstrated and clearly explained. I look forward to trying this out on the dancefloor. PS I thought this was going to be a Flying Yoyo for a brief second!
Thank you for the comment, much appreciated as usual. You're the second person to mention the Flying Yoyo after seeing this.. not a name I know so if you know where I could find out about that one I'd be a happy camper.. always great to find something new. Best wishes, Nelson
@@worldoffloorcraft7404 thanks for getting back to me. I've just had a quick search using Flying Yoyo GingerJive on RUclips and found a lesson in which the Flying Yoyo was demonstrated, on 22 June 2022. I'm afraid my computer skills don't extend to being able to share this video with you, but if you want to see it, the details I've given should enable you to find it. Good luck!
Super move, very athletic and macho and can one say hip! 🤣I've seen a video of this or something very similar but thought it was not for me. But you explain and demonstrate it so well that I want to give it a go! Reminds me, because of the sounds made, of another macho move, the Hug And Strip, a favourite. PS should the Hip Spin come with a health warning to take care of our hips when doing this!😂
Your video lessons don't get anything like enough views or likes. Always useful and much appreciated. Than you. (edited for typo')
Thank you very much Martin. As we always say if you like what we do tell your friends! Cheers, Nelson
Hi nelson i just rewatched your half windmill clip to add to a routine im compiling. I thought perhaps you could do a similar move i saw somewhere, lets call it an aerial half windmill😊. From L to R pull her forward changing to R to R, then instead of her going under you go wide over her cw and then change to your Lh and do the same again ?
Not sure I follow the description, all information gladly received. If it's any help I already know a couple of aerials called the Windmill and the Half Windmill. The Half Windmill is essentially a Full Seducer which you get into with a jump from the front as opposed to a pivot over the leg from behind. Best wishes, Nelson
Helpful revision of the Sway technique, and clear explanation and demonstration of the move. Useful footwork practice, but the move is not for me just yet!
Nice move full of useful techniques.
just gone back to ceroc after many years. was hoping to see move called Thai Chi. demonstrated to us. but soem nice moves there and we know a few. bonus!
Glad you found it useful Roy. Don't know a move called Thai Chi, will ask around.. might be another name for a move I know but I'm hoping it's something new, always love finding a new move. Best wishes, Nelson
Nice move, but not for me at the moment! Very good footwork practice though for those of us who find footwork extremely challenging!
Looks quite simple and a lot of fun. Thank you for this one!
Hope it works well for you Joanna. Best wishes, Nelson
It looked like I can do this if I can just remember
I have faith, you can do it! If you need any extra help just drop me a message and I'll do my best. Cheers, Nelson
Nice move from the depths of the pandemic lockdown, provide hope and practice at that difficult time. You have kindly provided a link from Double Hasse Marie to Hasse Marie. It's very useful that you demonstrate the Double move in this video too!
Nice move. But there's a lot going on there, and to remember, and both lady and man need to know what to do. It may be some time before I get my head around this!😂😅
Another important component! And as you say , it's another tool in our arsenal! Because the dancefloor is similar to a Homeric battlefield!🤣 PS more homework, but at least this move is relatively straightforward, simple and doable!
Nice move, very well explained and demonstrated, but very complicated and difficult. And a bit too adventurous for me! I doubt too whether it would be possible on a crowded dancefloor to do all those kicks!
