Porcupine Tree - Fadeaway
Просмотров 217 тыс.12 лет назад
Rare, original 1993 mix, complete with drum machine. Per Wikipedia: "In 2005, it was partially re-recorded, fully re-mixed, remastered and re-released along with the Staircase Infinities EP as a double album. The re-release contains a new mix by Steven Wilson, along with recorded drums by Gavin Harrison that replace the electronic drums of the original version."
Nazz - Sydney's Lunchbox

An outtake, and later single, from Nazz' second album, Nazz Nazz (1969). Features a very young Todd Rundgren on organ.
This is the real deal.. I just can't stand the re-recorded Gavin drums.. They took away all the magic - not just from this track but from the whole album. I cannot phantom WHY did SW want real drums here when remastering - why can't the past stay in the past?? I'm bitter about it, since PT was my 'mentor/music education' band and I totally lost interest/moved on when Gavin came along and they switched their sound more towards 'prog metal' palette. Still I would have loved to have an option of listening to the original somewhere other than my old battered CD. So far RUclips is the only place where you can do it properly - thank you sir for uploading (even if it was 13 years ago already)..
So dreamy this song...😮 mystic Strangely familiar... Forgetting what you might not know...
i will ask my grandkids to play this at my funeral. My one and only favourite song, nothing comes even close to this. It just takes me away.
Yes! That‘s exactly the same way I feel about this song.
Why is she laughing at you? Because she's a bitch, so fuck it haha
mind blowing beautiful song
from 2020s midnight rooftop walks to this day, I'm still the same. 30kib
Вещь!
Great band. Somehow their music was so unique. This song is my favourite.
i love this song
the most beautiful an’ succulent piece of music created
Sort of different for Little Feat, but one of my favorites. When I go on long car trips, i throw a few CDs in the car that I haven't listened to in a long time. Took this on the last trip - I'd forgotten how good this album is. When I hit this song, I had to listen to it several times in a row.
The only original version on here Very grateful
Who is the drummer here? Is it chris or gavin? It feels like gavin because of those little nuances and hi-hat open closes but wanna make sure!😅
THis is a drum machine. There's no drummer. Steven programmed those drums.
This song should have been performed live for the Waiting for Columbus album.
I wish Lowell would have played slide 30 extra minutes at the end of this song. BEST SLIDE GUITARIST EVER!
2:40 the dissonant notes fighting for our attention...just everything about this song...better than any therapist, I gotta say. I hear this, I feel so deeply, my eyes leak so much. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
How is it that I never heard of these guys until 2022???? 😭😭😭 This is incredible. Listening to this song today. And I'll listen again tomorrow, and the next day...❤️❤️❤️
once you get PT's vibe... there's no going back
Me too, I'm addicted now. I was introduced by a work friend, I don't know how I missed them.
The person in the cover art looks like Donald Sutherland
Seeing them Live in 013 Tilburg 2008. Time flies. I am happy i withness Porcupine Tree. What a Trip. One in a Lifetime.
As much as I love in abstentia and lightbulb sun etc I think this album, their first album, is the best by far. Each song is just beautiful and this as the last song on the album is like being whisked away on a soothing sonic cloud of psychedelia to a better place.
I have never ever listened to a song like this, the music, it's out of this world. It's like from another dimension. I don't know this song has an out of the world, one of a kind vibe. Can't imagine how someone can come up with this, this came from heaven i guess..
apparently this is when porcupine tree as a band was still scratching the surface... the core came later
I have listened to almost every PT track. Fadeaway still is and will be the most unique and out worldly piece of music ever made
@@saadwazir9659 this! I'm always transported to a different dimension listening to fadeaway! Other worldly.
I'm new here, just discovered this great song, clicked from the first time I just heard. Thanks for sharing!!! PS. Founded in Snatch sound track play list
Wow, Gavin's drumming in the remix gave this song so much more life
No.
Incredible piece, one of the best by Feat. Apparently a few others realize that; otherwise, a great song that fell under the radar.
Sugar is linked to Diabetes
Geeta Garbo is Goswami
Suchitra Sen is Goswami
Dream Theater is Pinkfloyd
Are Pinkfloyd Goswami notes?
This is simply magnificent 😁
I do like this album a lot but the last 18 minutes are just unbelieveable
I can see 2 faces in the picture!
I see at least 4, keep looking 🤔
This is the track I was looking for, after having binge listening to them for the first time. Can't name all their tracks yet (and Steven Wilson's).. But I will! I love the chorus but I don't know what he's singing? It sounds like "we'll never fly too high."
Good lord...such a mature sound for such a young, early artist. Steven Wilson is a god among men, truly.
...or just a man that makes good music. Chill, nerd.
@@nunyabusnus3740yeah prog rock fans are a league of their own lmao
This is the best
what a band <3
The best song of all times
The solo on rhis is an underated master piece
Here it doesn’t matter which version you listen, but on a proper stereo system (Vinyl/CD) the new Remastered version is something else! But this gives those vintage vibes, and has it’s own charm!
Masterpiece, capolavoro, opera d'arte. Da brivido.
Super super super super super super 🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒
Cool
Nice one
Another hidden gem from porcupine tree
I sat in the room with a view The girl in the photograph knew Can't you see? Why is she laughing at me? I stumbled through the dark unaware The face in the hall isn't there Tomorrow has gone Where do the voices come from? Watching the leaves as they blew Lost in the room with a view Climb the walls You did not know me at all I fell through a hole in the floor The audience cried out for more Fade away It's just another day Hit heaven far too high.
delicious
was listening to this masterpiece exactly ago too. this comment is for myself when i come back after years remembering this time period (8R REPOOC GNATSUM RODATNEVA)
BEST. TRACK. EVAR! who still listening in 2021??
