Just my opinion on JERMAINE's book.. I have read many books by MJ... And also have observed that there are thousands of books.. Seriously, when I went on looking for books on "MJ" topics when I was doing my research, it was wild because there are so many books written, some authors wrote for clout, others to defame, slander, others just for the sake of riding in that wave... It wasn't easy for me to find the right materials on the topic as a reader. But here's my take on "you're not alone" book.. First I loved it, I feel jermaine did his late sibling justice and this book was much needed at the time by both fans, public & him (for closure)... Secondly, I love it that it paints this picture of how they grew up and provide insight on how they came to be and why things came to be as they are... Thirdly, on the Joe subjects, I too used to abhor him at some point but growing up (in an African home in the 80s,90s,00s, as kids we were brought up with a firm hand, like you can't escape the switch or some 🥄 or things being thrown at you.. 😂You can't) and parents then had to be strict with disciplining their kids, for someone who grew up in hood environment, I can somehow resonate with why Joe had to (after reading this book and doing my work on understanding MJ's father he may not be the perfect parent we all wish for but let's give him his credit he did what he had to do to raise those kids & I think they turn out pretty great thanks to those parents...) also let's not forget this family grew up in front of the TV, we watch them, it's not easy.. The media ran with whatever story, whatever gist on them, painted some of them on wrong image for clout.. So it somehow sold to paint Joe as the monster of the family, the abusive father... But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with 9 kids.. 6 hot blooded boys (we all know they weren't saints) he had to have that strict parenting but in today's light were we have soft parenting he's just another bad parent. Again am not in his side 💯 but I feel like erm's really tried to explain the nature of parenting in their home to clear matters because I remember all these bad Joe news came to media when mj did those interviews n say like my dad is this, he beats us but I don't think he did it to paint him the villain... ... With all that noise I made above, I'd say I will highly recommend it to anyone who wants to read an MJ book that's on my top 5... Plus in the end we all are aware that MJ mended fences with his dad n it was all KUMBAYA.. I respect that.

I'm so glad you love LITTLE SUSIE and BREAK OF DAWN. They're literally some of the best songs on those albums and unfortunately very underrated. Little Susie is the darkest song in MJs discography which is why it's not very popular but it's also very good. Like really really good. And break of dawn is just so romantic and delightful

The Toy Story reference brought a huge smile to my face! I agree with everything you said. Little Susie is definitely underrated and over hated, I do understand why some people don’t like it because it freaked me it for a while, but once I actually listened closely I realized how good it was. I love the message. People love to hate on moonwalker but I agree it’s so comforting and one of the only movies I feel like I can sit down and enjoy. Also bad tour is perfection. It’s really the only one I’ve been motivated to rewatch and enjoyed more every time.

I'm really looking forward to the biopic. I really want to dress up and go to the premiere. My fears are the same as yours; Michael's life cannot be told in just two hours. We need at least two hours per era, lol. So I'm worried they will gloss over some stuff. While I was watching this, I wondered if the movie would end right when Michael agrees to do This Is It. I will not be able to handle that 😭 But I really do think the biopic will be great. You can see how hard Jaafar has been working. He even has that little wrinkle in between his eyebrows that Michael had.

Thank you for pointing out that Jaafar Jackson is NOT Michael Jackson and so cannot resemble him 100%. It's ridiculous that this even had to be said but then again some MJ fans are ridiculous. I mean, Jaafar is not Michaels twin! Why are they acting like the whole point of a biopic is that the actor must accurately look like the historical figure they portray? Austin butler literally looked nothing like Elvis yet he delivered the best Elvis Presley biopic till date. Chadwick boseman looked nothing like James brown in his biopic. Rami Malek looked absolutely nothing like Freddie mercury in bohemian rhapsody. It gets so frustrating watching MJ fans nitpicking literally everything since those pictures were released and they still can't shut up about it. And I agree with you, I was frustrated when they kept saying Jaafars nose was too long. What do they expect? An actual plastic surgery procedure for him? Finally, I think it was very brilliant of you when you said that this biopic will not be for MJ fans but for the general public. There's no way this film is being made to appeal to MJ fans only. They're investing A LOT OF MONEY into this film so their aim is much more global, to penetrate the worldwide market and public. They're not worried about MJ fans at all. And I believe, as you said, that when all is said and done, this movie will capture Michaels essence. But I also believe this movie will divide the MJ Fandom and will be controversial either for the most part or even to a lesser degree.
