Repairing cracked carbon fiber
disclaimer: not all carbon fiber is repairable. I did the best I could to repair this severely cracked and damaged front lip for a Mustang. #carbonfiber #damagedcarbonfiber #carbonfiberrepair

Forged Carbon Fiber skinning Hyundai Elantra mirror caps [ASMR]
Did I miss the part where you scuffed/keyed the mirror caps to give that first coat of resin something to stick to? The mirror caps looked like they still had clear on them.
А чё за парень на картине ?
Try liquid plastic for molds)
U user wrong epoxy type or this plastic is not ABS. On Non abs plastics use special chemicals
where can i find the peel ply??
I stopped watching when you don’t show the amount of export and resin. Thumbs down for me
How many ounces of resin and epoxy? All these videos never tell you how much they just do it.
Can you still reuse the foam brush after each coat or use a new one?
I like that mat
Music isn't ASMR bro.
Lepas sanding bro lap guna cecair apa tu share boss
You do this as a job?
Can you make a video of how you vacuum bag your pieces?
Great video! What is the green tape you used on the backside of the housing? I assume it is used for keeping epoxy and carbon from sticking in the places you dont want it to stick?
GREAT SAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing.
I wish I'd have seen this video earlier as I made exactly the same mistake using silicone spray as a release agent. Just about managed to salvage it by patiently picking bits of broken glass off the casting, sanded it and slapped on another layer of epoxy and it was good as new 😅
Sorry but that's just an eyesore...I'd rather have fake Carbon fiber
Hi !! nice video, but as you use Poliester Resin, the carbon seems little yellow colored. We think is a good use of the polyester resin for the first coat of resin, the one that comes sticky for the Forged Carbon Fiber, but later can be apply transparent epoxy resin for a better finish look. Almost, better if you lack them with 2k lack, for UV protection. Nice work !! continue like that. Cheers.
Ike Turner meme watching you work?!🤣🤣 liked and subscribed!
Haha! Thx bro!
Can you make them with forged carbon
Take a look at my channel of my other videos. I did forged carbon.
❤
Could you make a video making the mirrors from scratch and not a copy? I need to make some F1-type mirrors for my civic and I don't know how to approach it, thank you very much for your time!
Take your og mirror caps and spray them with some spray foam and carve your shape, bondo over the foam to get it smooth, cover it with packing tape and put a couple layers of fiberglass over it and you have a mold
If you want a whole different mirror it would be the same concept, literally just carve it out of a block of foam
@@mcnuggetapplethanks for the reply 👍🏻👍🏻
First of all, great video, secondly, I can understand your anger very well in some places in the video😅. The processes to produce carbon parts are really complex. I'm currently working on wheel hub caps and could go crazy. On the first try I had poorly mixed epoxy, on the second try air bubbles had formed under the first layer and on the last try I had air bubbles in the claren epoxy top layer that I couldn't sand out
This is why we charge what we do.
What is the thing with which you rubbed it after using 120sandpaper
acetone
I just made a forged carbon fiber center cap for my new Camaro wheels. I used my 3d printer to print and mold and c clamps to hold it together. It would incredibly well. I even embossed the Chevy logo on it so it has depth. It took almost no clean up and cans be used matte as it came out of the mold or I can add a clear to it.
Don’t bother with peel ply just fit clear plastic over it won’t leave any marks
Polyester resin is for glass fibre. And goes off in mins not hours. Epoxy resin is what is best Do your layer and wait then lay the carbon down. In some places use a heat gun to help bend into place. Iv done loads. Try mix carbon chopped and add colour Christmas tinsel to add effect it’s brilliant
Any epoxy ? Or a special model ? Can i use the epoxy resin we use on the ground ? I want to know if there is a special type of epoxy resin for carbon fibre ?
I've used vinylester resin for all of my CF projects. UV / heat / chemical resistant.
Would be able to make a carbon fiber hood.
Yes I can do a hood. Hit me up on Instagram @certifiedcarbon
Lovely vid. I have the same annoying issue with the clearcoat... I just can't get it glossy enough and I have a rotary polisher(!). Have you changed technique or products since this vid to enhance the gloss at all?
I've used an epoxy buffer and polish product that seems to retain the gloss and make it smooth.
Spraymax 2k clear is amazing.
Amazing work and excellent tutorial.
Why didn't you just make a mold so you don't have to deal with the hassle of sanding? I have always wondered why people use male molds or skin original parts rather than making a mold and producing the part. That way you can take advantage of the carbon properties being light weight. But skinning adds weight to the part (unless it's for reinforcement).
This part was too complex for me to mold it
Well depending on the part it can become time consuming. Also depending on what your doing it for as well. Like me I skin becuase I'm not focused on weight savings. But for some who want to make mad production and get functionality then I see molds as a good choice
Brilliant mate 👏
men i love this video and your edits in this video trashh xd xd keep going keep educate us percfect job
Are you gonna roll that out or nah??
I’ve been debating wether to go forged cf or weave for my mirror caps but after seeing how yours have turned out I’m leaning more towards the forged look. Well do on the project. They came out really good mate.
Thanks bro. 💪🏾
Fibreglass resin. Use epoxy next time
I did for the 2nd set
awesome content ! youtube needs more of this
Do you get a lot of pinholes in the final clear coat because of air bubbles?
Only a little. I do a light spray
the wiring of the sequential is fire !
hi im korean i want talking about you
Help spread the link
Do you have a shop?
Home garage for now but working up to one
Not glossy enough You don't want to use 1000 grit for polishing, you need to start from 2500 light sanding, otherwise you peel the clear coat.... bad result
Thanks for the tip. Not a bad result, just not what u expected.
@@משרדרסולי I didn't use polish on this one. Work in progress for my first one. I've got more to come.
What are the materials needed for this
Everything I use is listed in the video
@@CERTIFIEDCarbon no it's not listed properly at least tell us everything you used so we can know
