Volvo V70 AW55-50SN Gearbox Issues PT1 - Explanation & Garage visit for Oil Change / Lucas Stop Slip
Просмотров 413Месяц назад
In this video I head off to Horton Cars for a Gearbox Oil change & Lucas Stop Slip treatment to see if I can cure my clunking gearbox in my 2005 Volvo V70 2.5T Auto. Obviously whilst the cameras were rolling it behaved the whole time! Whilst I could of done this first step myself I farmed it out to Horton cars as they previously repaired my XC60, and I wanted to ensure the level etc was set cor...

I would weigh up what you want to do with it Did they do a system flush and not do a adaptation in vida Also you wanna drive my v70 t5 in a factory manual 😜
And then a bus go's by beeping 😉🤣🤣🤣
Get a V8 S80 😊
Try Lucas transmission fix; I had the same issue with my Volvo xc70 gearbox and luckily it solved the clunking/surging however, you must completely flush the gearbox including the oil in the torque converter for the additive to be effective.
Dear Reader, Although I'm only a viewer, I dare to give Mr. Indecisive auto a consideration, because he's asked for one. Would this be a good moment to get another Citroën? That would give this channel a distinctive flavour. And when I think of a daily driver I think of a XM, Xantia or C5. Another possibility would be to create a fleet of (semi) classic Volvo's and Citroën's; because with 3-4 classics you've always have one car that actually drives. Or is this to optimistic? With Kind Regards, Michel F. van den Brun Dutch pedestrian
The old head/heart dilemma. I’d probably take it to the auto box guy in Stafford and get a full diagnosis. If it’s very expensive then it is probably time to re-home it and get a newer and much better condition Volvo as a daily. If not too bad I’d probably do the urgent work and then see how it is. Another big failure and it should definitely go unfortunately.
Get a newer daily, I’ve tried running older cars as daily’s and as much as they’ll happily do it, they’ll also happily burn a massive hole in my pocket. It’s tricky though when you’re attached to a car, when to say ‘no more’.
Yep been there done that 🤣🤣
Gentil has a good Focus for sale 😄 But I would consider a good V50 1.8 petrol or 2.0 diesel
Take if off the road and fix it for the channel. Buy a good daily
An anxiety reducing daily would be a good shout. The V70 could be a show attending rolling project.
This sounds like the best solution.
time to start car shopping.
😂
I took care of the problem by using a ventilated oil cap from a Volvo 140. When it's really bad you will see the oil lamp start blinking. Change the cap and your oil pressure is back and leaks are gone and the engine runs better. It should work on any manufacturer with a sealed PCV system.
hi from france
He seems to be the only person in the UK that knows these Aisin 6 Speed Auto-boxes like the back of his hand. Volvo franchise dealerships are absolutely USELESS! Did Hortons fix the car for you??
Yes they did. We had a small hiccup after it was put back together but it's done well over 20,000 miles since with no issues 👍
Check the cold air feed hose to see if the foam lining is breaking down, that could be were the debris in the air box came from.
Good fun - slow but sure always wins the race when it comes to fluid and filter changes. You are propping up the parts cleaner industry almost single handedly.
Btw is there a possibility you can help me a bit? There is an speedometer in my BX 14RE build in that came from a TRS. I am trying to make the revcounter to work, but the orange cable that comes from it, is just hanging loose. Do you know where your revcable connects to? The fuse box? I already tried the Haynes
I'm not sure. I'll see if I can figure it out at the weekend for you!
@@indecisiveauto that would be very kind and helpful, thanks a lot in advance. I'll react on X on one of your posts with a photo of the cable so you know what to look for. Thanks!
Thanks for the video, enjoyed it again! I dont understand why your views are not much higher.... Your videos are perfect!
Boa noite, alguém com ventuinha do c3 2014 pra vender
Imagine how valuable that door will be to someone else though!
Ah, so so familiar 😂 But also, magic sponges?
That’s the sort of rabbit hole I end up going down with my XC70 😂😂😂
Wonderful patience and perseverance, wow, what a difference though. So glad it was you doing this job and not me. Thoroughly enjoyed watching.
Shocking!
Dear Reader, Although Mr. indecisive auto presents himself consistently as some sort of clumsy idiot, and I'm formally a philosopher; Mr Indecisive has a classic Mark 1 BX, and I haven't. So I think Mr. indecisive auto isn't an idiot at all and can be proud of his achievement, and I'm the fool. With Kind Regards, Michèl F. van den Brun Pedestrian

Oh man I love these kinds of videos, thank you thank you thank you for uploading!!!! Enjoyed it! VEP ❤
My dad had a Topaz Blue '92 J 309 GLD. Loved that car. It's currently listed as SORN so it may still be knocking around the place somewhere.
14:12 Because if you used hex-headed bolts you'd compromise the working room inside the seat runner...
Another job well done Dave.
Lovely selection to look at
Well thats just a car problem, stuck calipers happen on all makes and models my friend.
Mate that T-Shirt is spot on! Are they still for sale somewhere? Enjoyed the walk around, thanks for the video. VEP is still the best looking car of them all
Really enjoyed this. I had planned to go but couldn’t make it, so this was good. Definitely prefer your vids with commentary 👍
It’s fun to see French cars, which haven’t been sold here in the US for many decades. As I recall, the last Peugeot sold here was the 505. The last Citröens were the DS21 and SM. Renault was the 11, maybe? Simca came in during the short time it was owned (maybe part-owned?) by Chrysler, but I saw only a handful. Every time my Mazda CX-5 slams over a speed bump (sleeping policeman) I think how nice a DS21 might be.
Thanks for the nice comments on 'Bertie' my blue C1 🙂
A great walkaround and the commentary was most welcome too. Great see all the 2CVs. They had square headlights in the 70s, to make them look more modern! Citroen then reverted to the earlier, classic, round lights - sometimes with chrome surrounds for an extra touch of luxury! I loved seeing all the Simcas too!
I believe later 2CVs made in Portugal (right up until 1990) continued to have the square headlights
@torresalex no, I think you will find they reverted to the round ones. The square lights are rare to see today.

Great video, Dave. Love your comment 😄👍 Abiut the DS: white roof means ID and body coloured roof is a DS.
Enjoyed hearing your thoughts and enthusiasm. Well done for winning an award.
Excellent commentary
