Annetenna (Ednaswap) - Torn (Acoustic)
'Torn' was originally from Ednaswap's second album, Wacko Magneto. After the band split, Scott Cutler and Anne Preven formed Annetenna - the band under which this acoustic version was recorded. I believe this was recorded live on Howard Stern.

Orgone Accumulator

You know the drill This is a cover - not sure who by - but it's worthy of a podium. Not sure who edited the video either, just found it in my collection and thought it was rather good, so shared. My apologies to any original editor if you think this is untoward... Original version by Hawkwind: ruclips.net/video/dTO4yU_OIjQ/видео.html
Aka “Argon Cylinder” - which, once I got that thing home, I wrote “ORGONE accumulator” on a piece of paper taped to its side.
🤯🤯🤯🤯
Vos.
WoW, the acoustic version is more emotional than the original one. Anne’s voice is heavenly and Scott’s chords are dreamy. Torn is one of the greatest songs I’ve ever listened and I simply can’t get tired of it. 💙🖤
The best version
this version is simply flawless (Has so much more heart & soul to it) I can’t praise this version enough so great 👍👍❤️👍👍
Hey I looked for the Howard Stern perfomance is not the same. Can you tell me which Album/promo cd this version is.
This Is real....
Its feels like a cover of Nat. Its because Nat version is cleaner with a bit sense of rock that explode in 90 till 00. Nat crispy arrangement applied into another like Avril. When finally Avril turn it into post funky-pop punk. Nat version is sounds better because Edna had a slighter chance than Nat 1.25 speed. Ur Welcome
Best version
thats important to get a copyright, but this original version much better
The originals are always so much better the covers..This is definitely my cup of tea version
damn this version is so perfect man DAMN
This is Suffacox - Psychedozer 7" b-side.... a supergroup: John Terlesky, Christine Weiser, Wayne Hamilton, and Lou Cooper
So much soul
This is a perfect example of the the media shoves crap down your throat... This is 10 times better than Natalie whatever the hell her name is. How did that version every become more popular than this one.
This is a live version, recorded on Howard Stern in 2000. There is an Ednaswap album version, released in 1995 that is faster and poppier than this version.
Ednaswap’s record label East West Records refused to promote them for a stupid reason because their songs were apparently ‘too different’ from the original demo that was presented to the label. They were signed on to a different label in 1997 but by then natalie had released her cover and it was basically impossible to promote the original torn.
Da de 10 x 0 na versão Natalie
This is so much richer than Natalie's cover! You're my new fave band and now you've disbanded, totally gutted by your disbandment!
Play at 1,25 speed, Natalie's tempo, lol.
KKOPPI - Thank you for that, Lol
Also try listening to Natalie's at x0.75!
I'm so in love with this version, for me it's the best one.
I like the electric version, too, but this one is the best.
This versión is good and the original, but why i feel the Natalie Imbruglia version more perfect ?
Gonzalo Gauna cuz you listened to Natalie's version first
Natalie's version is complete soul-less - it sounds like an f-ing commercial jingle.
Because Natalie's song has much more money invested to cause that impression on you...
This was not recorded live on Howard Stern. What happened was they preformed it in the studio and everyone loved the performance. They asked the stern show for a copy so they could put it on their website. Stern show said no. So they just went into their studio and recorded this.
AntM hi, i have a doubt. in which Annetenna album Torn is recorded?
You're right, Anne Preven DID perform this in the studio the 1st time. I was listening that morning & caught it on cassette. Beautiful versions either way, but I am partial to the 1st one.
Howard Stern such a pity little ugly man
natalie who?
For many years I love Natalie Imbruglia's version. This is the first time I heard this original version, and I think it is superb! My new love!
+Alicia Hock This is sung by the original artist but it's not the original version. It is better than their own original version.
+Alicia Hock I've been hearing the Natalia's version for a year know. I stumbled upon the real version today. While watching a RUclips video titled "Top 80 Songs You Didn't Know Were Covers and Their Originals" The song comes up on 6:01 in the video, how mind blowing it is for me the fact that i have heard the Natalia's pop version since i was a child and loving this Alternative original version of the song.
This is such a beautiful song. I like both this version and the hard rock version, but the assholes who had Natalie Imbruglia record it and make it sound like she was doing the laundry in a Tide commercial makes me fucking sick.
a most excellent cover & the vid is mental ... love it (Y)
Yea.. emotional rape thru false relationship pretenses.. basically.. he fked her over when she thought he was the one.. she fell, he didn't..then she woke up.. to nvr be the same again :(
This is basically me right now😕. You summed up how I feel lately, with how my gf treated me
/watch?v=z6iZIe4UNF4 Version argentina.
yah I was just thinking i'd like to learn it.
So, is this song about rape?
No. Where would anyone get that idea?
I can see why you’d think that but no it’s not
anyone got the guitar chords for this version ? thanks !
I was so overwhelmed the first time I heard the original version. I couldn't believe it! So much better than Natalie's version. I mean, it came as such a good surprise to know that this was the original song. Since then, I couldn't stop listening! All my friends think Natalie's version is better but, personally, I think they're going nuts! It makes me remember of all my fucking ex loves. A mix of angry, sadness and revenge all of a sudden. Thanks Ednaswap for making such a remarkable song!
this one is far better. your friends have a bad taste in music.
Natalie's version is good, but this one is the best for me.
Can anyone transpose her chords into tab? I would love to learn to play this song as she wrote it. It is just so much more deep and personal. Thanks if anyone can do it.
Funny that Anne now writes stuff for beyoncé of all people
Well, it actually isn't funny. It's sad that half of the recording artists like that don't even write their own music. In other words, they have no real talent, except for the set of pipes that God gave them.
No matter who covers this song, it is a great song that will always stand the test of time. A timeless classic no matter who it is sung by.
Awesome cover!
i get it now.. i didn't at first but now i do.
sounds like metalica lol !
This song is way better than Natalie's cover! If u listen to the words, it's a song about haerbreak! The title says it all! Natalie sings it as a happy-go-lucky pop song!
She did do a version of this on Stern. Not this version, tho it's almost identical. that one had only her and a guitar. and if I'm not mistaken, her brother was in studio with her that day on guitar.
it s just fucking live !!!!!!!
kicks natalie's ass. the original is always the best. this should've been released, we've been ROBBED!!!
Totally underrated band absolute awesome!!!
THE FIRST EVER RECORDED VERSION WAS NOT RELEASED. that version is most often known as a DEMO. every other artist performing or recording this song is COVERING the original song, even if the release date of the other artist's version predates the release of the original song WRITTEN BY THE ORIGINAL ARTIST. so there. and for the record, so to speak, the first demo was recorded in 1991 or thereabouts.
pretty good, being i'm not much on remakes this is actually very good,
I love Natalie Imbruglia... but this original is AMAZING.
Also, mir gefällt zwar Natalies Cover von Trienes Cover besser. :P Aber zum Glück haben sich ja die guten Anlagen des Kindes vererbt. :)
if you read on the road by jack kerouac some guy has an orgone accumulator in that , only place ive seen it mentioned other than hawkwind and wilheim reich
Oh, and Burroughs mentions it, too, if I recall correctly. Addendum: seems B. was serious enough about these things to *HAVE* one - and most likely, Kerouac got the idea from him!
@@dennisyoung4631 I can imagine William S Burroughs having one. 👍
Best version IMO.
15 years after its debut, I somehow find this song stuck in my head for the past two weeks. But just this version.
