Siemens IGBT VVVF | Class 333 Traction Sound | PWM Inverter - Class 333 Inductor Recording
It's SIBAS 32 again! But this time, it's a simple 1000Hz carrier-based asynchronous modulation with a bunch of sync modes. The Class 332 and Class 333 aren't Desiro UK trains. Yes, built by Siemens Transportation Systems (now Siemens Mobility) but also CAF had a hand in its design as the manufacturer. It's known simply as a Suburban EMU.
Sorry, I can't distinguish between high pulse-counts and pulses that are simply wide here. Eventually, someone who can read the current waveform more diligently can identify them.

    Excellent recordings, you can never go wrong with sticking an inductor above the motor bogie!

    • @ItsYa165
      @ItsYa165 7 дней назад

      There's quite a lot that can go wrong EMI-wise, actually. It's not easy to get clear recordings all the time because the dense field diameter of transmission can extend to hundreds of metres at such a high voltage that linkage is inescapable regardless of spherical position. Some cars mount multiple power electronics and chokes in-plane with stator leads and windings like this ACU. In scenarios like this, especially where the bodyshell is formed of aluminium, post-processing is inevitable and may be excessive. All of this is just for people who are genuinely interested in VVVF to count pulses as clearly and quickly as they do (A, 21, 15, 11, 7, 5, 3, 1) for review. The only thing that could genuinely never go wrong is wrapping low-Henry coils point-blank around the stator leads, or having a datasheet with a frequency graph / pulse chart as there are different modulation and clocking methods. Even within SHE, there are different types.

      @@ItsYa165 I agree to an extent. But what I mean is it's very faint by Comparison to other trains. But personally I'm not really a fan of the elusive sounds ..the gearbox is very faint imo. As the gear ratio seems to be some small gear ratio that goes to a high frequency and out of hearing range really early on. Just not satisfying to me personally tbh. Class 730s seem to be a louder both in and out of the train but at higher speeds they become non existent in sound. Probably due to some variances in the gear ratio/insulation but idk. @ItsYa165 16 дней назад

      @@bb-3653 How? How could you possibly change this system to be better? There's nothing you can do without replacing the rails and the shoe gear. The issue is that the rail has no insulation from the air above it and that current collector is a surface-to-surface sliding contact where the contact area changes dynamically because of the truck kinematic constantly changing both the cartesian and spherical systems of reference frame for the shoe gear. That means the shoe is essentially doomed. The pantograph is a much more advanced system because it's suspended and its job is to maintain tangential contact rather than surface-to-surface. This is easier because the pantograph and the wire can be considered as tied to each other despite vertical translation in the moving frame because it's a tension system.

      @@bb-3653 The Desiros in the UK have basically always reused the traction package from the 360s because they were compliant enough already. In the future, Desiros will be different. Siemens' 24TS for instance uses 750Hz for rotor position estimation. After then, it clocks 1450Hz for 590VDC and 790VDC like the Class 350 did when it was commissioned on 750VDC... but instead of PCFM it uses RCFM for driving up to 35km/h on 590V and 42.5km/h on 790V before various sync modes kick in. The TIC of the 24TS is studied from the TCU of the Cl450 and is designed to reach 105km/h top speed. So in the future, the Desiro Verve should also be using RCFM instead of PCFM.

Uk desiros pretty boring imo always have been since the CAF/seimens 333/332 trains. But the 24 ts sounds surprisingly nice from the limited footage ive seen. It says it follows on from the success of the Desiro City, which is technologically true. The Verve will be using the SF7500 bogie which is the instalment after the SF7000 used only by the Desiro City. Electrically, it'll use whatever Erlangen has developed.
